Anthony’s Question Changes Everything
The Suspicious Phone Call
Anthony had been thinking about D’Nisha’s behavior all morning. Something about the way she had been treating Wayne didn’t sit right with him. She was always around Wayne when she needed something, but Anthony couldn’t tell whether she genuinely cared about Wayne or simply liked what Wayne could do for her.
Anthony finally picked up his phone and called Wayne.
Anthony: “Wayne, where you at?”
Wayne: “I’m at the house. Why?”
Anthony: “I need to ask you something, but you gotta be honest with me.”
Wayne immediately became suspicious.
Wayne: “Man, what you talking about?”
Anthony: “Do you think D’Nisha is using you?”
There was complete silence on the other end.
Wayne: “What?”
Anthony: “You heard me. Do you think she’s using you?”
Wayne Starts Questioning Everything
Wayne sat down and looked toward the doorway.
Wayne: “Why would you even ask me something like that?”
Anthony: “Because I’ve been watching the situation, and something doesn’t add up.”
Wayne: “What doesn’t add up?”
Anthony: “Every time D’Nisha needs something, you’re the first person she calls. But when you need her, suddenly she’s busy.”
Wayne paused. Anthony’s words made him think.
Wayne: “That’s not necessarily using somebody.”
Anthony: “Then explain it to me.”
Wayne: “I care about her. That’s different.”
Anthony: “Caring about somebody doesn’t mean you should ignore every red flag.”
D’Nisha Walks In
Before Wayne could answer, Anthony suddenly heard a voice behind him.
D’Nisha: “Who are you talking to?”
Anthony froze. He slowly turned around.
Anthony: “Nobody.”
D’Nisha: “Nobody?”
Anthony quickly ended the call.
Anthony: “Yeah. Just Wayne.”
D’Nisha: “Why did you hang up so fast?”
Anthony: “I had to ask him something.”
D’Nisha: “About what?”
Anthony: “Nothing important.”
D’Nisha crossed her arms and stared at Anthony.
D’Nisha: “Anthony, you’re acting weird.”
Wayne Gets The Call
Meanwhile, Wayne was still sitting with his phone in his hand. Anthony’s question kept replaying in his mind.
“Do you think D’Nisha is using you?”
For the first time, Wayne started thinking about all the little things he had previously ignored.
The favors. The phone calls. The promises. The times D’Nisha suddenly became unavailable.
Then his phone rang.
It was D’Nisha.
Wayne: “Hello?”
D’Nisha: “Wayne, what did Anthony say to you?”
Wayne’s expression changed.
Wayne: “Why are you asking me that?”
D’Nisha: “Because I know Anthony was talking about me.”
Wayne: “How do you know?”
D’Nisha: “Because Anthony just got real quiet when I walked in.”
D’Nisha: “So what did he say?”
Wayne hesitated before finally answering.
Wayne: “He asked me if I think you’re using me.”
D’Nisha Demands Answers
D’Nisha went completely silent.
D’Nisha: “Wow.”
Wayne: “That’s all you got to say?”
D’Nisha: “I can’t believe Anthony would put something like that in your head.”
Wayne: “He didn’t put anything in my head. He asked me a question.”
D’Nisha: “And you actually entertained it?”
Wayne became quiet.
Wayne: “I don’t know.”
D’Nisha: “You don’t know?”
Wayne: “I’m just saying I’ve never really thought about it.”
D’Nisha: “Then maybe you should’ve asked me instead of Anthony.”
Wayne: “Maybe I should.”
The Confrontation Begins
At that exact moment, Anthony walked back into the room.
Anthony: “Wayne, you still there?”
D’Nisha immediately looked at Anthony.
D’Nisha: “Put him on speaker.”
Anthony: “Why?”
D’Nisha: “Because if you have something to say about me, I want to hear it too.”
Anthony looked uncomfortable. Wayne remained silent on the phone.
D’Nisha: “Come on, Anthony. Put him on speaker.”
Anthony slowly pressed the button.
Anthony: “You’re on speaker.”
D’Nisha: “Good. Now let’s have this conversation together.”
Wayne took a deep breath.
Wayne: “I think we all need to talk.”
Anthony looked at D’Nisha. D’Nisha looked back at Anthony.
Suddenly, the simple question Anthony had asked Wayne had turned into a confrontation nobody was prepared for.
Anthony: “Then let’s talk.”
D’Nisha: “Absolutely. Because somebody is going to explain themselves today.”
The room went silent.
Wayne realized Anthony’s question might have uncovered something much bigger than he expected.
Will Wayne finally confront D’Nisha about his doubts, or will Anthony’s question create an even bigger problem between them?
