Brooke Finally Reaches Her Breaking Point With Bethany

Brooke Finally Reaches Her Breaking Point With Bethany

A dramatic family confrontation that changes everything.

1. Brooke’s Bedroom — Afternoon

Soft afternoon sunlight filters through the curtains as Brooke sits on her bed, scrolling through her phone. Her room is quiet, but her mind is anything but peaceful.

She has been dealing with Bethany’s behavior for far too long. Every day feels like another argument waiting to happen, and Brooke is exhausted from living under the same roof as someone she can barely tolerate anymore.

Brooke tosses her phone onto the bed and lets out a frustrated sigh.

BROOKE

I cannot do this no more. I swear, every time I turn around, it’s something with Bethany. I can’t even be comfortable in my own house!

She picks up her phone again and opens her contacts. Her eyes settle on Isaiah’s name. For a moment, she hesitates.

Then an idea comes to her.

Maybe Isaiah can help her figure out a way to leave the house. She does not want to keep arguing with Bethany, and she desperately needs some peace.

Brooke presses the call button.

2. Isaiah’s Location — Continuous

Isaiah is sitting comfortably when his phone begins to ring. He glances at the screen and immediately breaks into a smile when he sees Brooke’s name.

He answers the call without hesitation.

ISAIAH

Hey, Brooke!

BROOKE

Hey.

ISAIAH

What’s up? I wasn’t expecting a call from you today.

BROOKE

Well, I need to talk to you about something.

Isaiah straightens up, his smile fading into a more serious expression.

ISAIAH

Okay. What’s going on? I’m listening.

BROOKE

Isaiah, I don’t want to live in this house anymore. I can’t keep living with Bethany. I’m tired of all the drama, and I just want to get away from her.

ISAIAH

Wait a minute. What happened now? Did y’all get into another argument?

BROOKE

Isaiah, it doesn’t even matter what happened this time. I’m just tired. Every day, it’s something new with her. I can’t relax in my own house without feeling like something is about to go wrong.

BROOKE

I don’t want to keep living like this. I need my own space, and I need some peace.

ISAIAH

Then you need to talk to your dad, Brooke. Tell Larry how you feel. He’s your father. He needs to understand that you’re unhappy.

BROOKE

You know my dad. He might not even listen to me. Every time I try to explain something, it turns into a whole situation.

ISAIAH

But you won’t know what he’s going to say until you talk to him. You can’t just keep everything bottled up inside.

BROOKE

Okay. I’ll try talking to him.

ISAIAH

Good. Just be honest with him. Tell him exactly how you feel.

BROOKE

All right. I’ll call you later.

ISAIAH

Okay, Brooke. I’m here if you need me.

They end the call.

Brooke stares at her phone for a few seconds before taking a deep breath. She gets off the bed and heads toward Larry’s bedroom.

3. Larry And Bethany’s Bedroom — Moments Later

Larry and Bethany are sitting together in their bedroom, having a conversation when Brooke appears in the doorway.

Brooke stops when she sees them both sitting there. She had hoped to speak to her father privately, but Bethany’s presence makes her feel uncomfortable.

BROOKE

Dad, I need to talk to you about something.

LARRY

Okay, Brooke. What’s going on? Go ahead.

BROOKE

No, Dad. I need to talk to you alone.

BETHANY

Why do you need to talk to him alone? Whatever you have to say, you can say it right here in front of me!

BROOKE

Because it’s something I need to discuss with my dad. Why does everything have to involve you?

BETHANY

This is my house too, Brooke. I’m not going anywhere just because you want to have a private conversation!

LARRY

All right, Brooke. If you’ve got something to say, just say it. Let’s not make this into a bigger problem than it needs to be.

BROOKE

Fine. You want to hear it? Then listen.

BROOKE

Dad, I don’t want to live in this house with Bethany anymore.

The room falls silent. Larry’s eyebrows rise in surprise, while Bethany’s face tightens with anger.

4. Larry’s Bedroom — The Truth Comes Out

Larry looks at Brooke, trying to understand why she has made such a serious declaration.

LARRY

What do you mean you don’t want to live here anymore? This is your home, Brooke.

BROOKE

I know this is my home, Dad. But I can’t keep living like this. I’m tired of the arguments, the accusations, and feeling like I can’t do anything without Bethany having something to say about it.

BETHANY

Oh, here we go again! Everything is always my fault, isn’t it?

BROOKE

I said I wanted to talk to my dad, but you insisted on being part of the conversation. Now you’re going to sit here and listen to what I have to say.

LARRY

Brooke, answer my question. Why can’t you live here anymore?

BROOKE

Dad, ask Bethany! She knows exactly why I’m tired of dealing with her.

LARRY

Bethany, what is she talking about? What’s going on between you two?

BETHANY

She’s telling you all this because she wants to go live with Isaiah! That’s what this is really about. She wants to do whatever she wants, and now she’s trying to make me look like the bad guy so you’ll let her leave.

BROOKE

Are you serious right now? I just told you how I feel, and you’re still trying to turn everything around on me!

BETHANY

Because that’s exactly what you’re doing!

LARRY

Brooke, is Bethany right? Is this about Isaiah?

BROOKE

Dad, this is about me not wanting to live with her anymore! Why can’t you just listen to me?

LARRY

Because I’m not about to let you run away from this house every time you get upset. You’re staying here, Brooke. That’s final.

5. Brooke Reaches Her Breaking Point

Brooke freezes. She had expected her father to disagree, but hearing him dismiss her feelings hurts more than she anticipated.

BROOKE

So you’re not even going to hear me out?

LARRY

I heard what you said. You’re staying here.

Brooke’s eyes begin to fill with tears, but she refuses to let them fall.

BROOKE

You know what? I’m done with this.

Brooke takes another step toward Bethany. Her voice shakes with anger.

BROOKE

I swear, Bethany, I’m going to leave this situation behind me one way or another. I’m not going to keep letting you make my life miserable!

BETHANY

Who do you think you’re talking to like that?

BROOKE

I’m talking to you! You heard me!

6. The Confrontation Escalates

The tension in the room explodes. Bethany moves toward Brooke in anger, and Larry immediately steps between them.

BROOKE

Get off me! Bethany, get off me!

LARRY

BETHANY! STOP IT!

Larry rushes between them, trying to create distance and prevent the confrontation from getting worse.

LARRY

What is wrong with you? I’m trying to break this up!
