THE FINAL CHOICE

SCENE 1 — ISAIAH’S HOUSE — EVENING

The room is tense.

BROOKE stands across from ISAIAH, hurt and furious after discovering that he has been spending time with MARIAH.

Isaiah looks frustrated.

BROOKE

“After everything you’ve done, you still expect me to believe you?”

Isaiah exhales.

ISAIAH

“I already told you, Brooke. You don’t understand what happened.”

Brooke shakes her head.

BROOKE

“No. I understand more than you think.”

Isaiah looks away.

Brooke steps closer.

BROOKE

“You keep choosing her over me.”

Isaiah turns back toward her.

ISAIAH

“That’s not what I’m doing.”

BROOKE

“Then tell me why you keep running back to Mariah.”

Isaiah becomes silent.

Brooke’s frustration grows.

She suddenly slaps Isaiah once.

Isaiah freezes in shock.

The room becomes completely silent.

He slowly turns his face back toward Brooke.

His expression has changed.

The anger in his eyes is obvious.

ISAIAH

“Brooke!”

Brooke stands her ground.

BROOKE

“You deserved that.”

Isaiah takes a step back.

He looks hurt, angry, and disappointed.

ISAIAH

“You can’t keep treating me like this.”

Brooke crosses her arms.

BROOKE

“And you can’t keep betraying me.”

Isaiah shakes his head.

ISAIAH

“I’m tired of this.”

Brooke looks at him.

BROOKE

“Tired of what?”

Isaiah takes a deep breath.

ISAIAH

“Tired of constantly having to explain myself.”

Brooke’s expression changes.

BROOKE

“Then maybe you should finally be honest.”

Isaiah looks directly at her.

ISAIAH

“Fine.”

A long silence follows.

SCENE 2 — ISAIAH MAKES HIS DECISION

Isaiah walks toward the other side of the room.

He runs a hand through his hair, trying to control his emotions.

Brooke watches him carefully.

BROOKE

“What are you thinking?”

Isaiah turns around.

ISAIAH

“I’m thinking that this relationship isn’t working anymore.”

Brooke looks stunned.

BROOKE

“What did you just say?”

Isaiah remains firm.

ISAIAH

“You heard me.”

Brooke’s anger turns into disbelief.

BROOKE

“After everything we’ve been through?”

Isaiah nods slowly.

ISAIAH

“Yes.”

Brooke steps closer.

BROOKE

“So you’re really choosing Mariah?”

Isaiah looks at her.

For a moment, he says nothing.

Then he answers.

ISAIAH

“I’m choosing what I think is right for me.”

Brooke shakes her head.

BROOKE

“That’s a coward’s answer.”

Isaiah’s expression hardens.

ISAIAH

“Maybe you won’t agree with me, but I’ve made my decision.”

Brooke looks away.

Her eyes fill with frustration.

BROOKE

“I never thought you would say this to me.”

Isaiah lowers his voice.

ISAIAH

“I never thought we would end up like this either.”

SCENE 3 — THE WORDS THAT HURT

Brooke looks back at Isaiah.

BROOKE

“Do you even care about what you’re doing to me?”

Isaiah pauses.

ISAIAH

“I care.”

BROOKE

“Then why are you acting like I mean nothing?”

Isaiah shakes his head.

ISAIAH

“I’m not saying you mean nothing.”

Brooke waits for him to continue.

ISAIAH

“But I can’t keep pretending everything is okay.”

Brooke’s voice becomes quieter.

BROOKE

“So what happens now?”

Isaiah looks toward the door.

ISAIAH

“You need to let me go.”

Brooke stares at him.

BROOKE

“You want me to just walk away?”

Isaiah nods.

ISAIAH

“Yes.”

Brooke takes a deep breath.

BROOKE

“And Mariah?”

Isaiah hesitates.

Then he answers honestly.

ISAIAH

“I want to see where things go with her.”

Brooke looks stunned.

She slowly steps back.

BROOKE

“So you really are choosing her.”

Isaiah doesn’t answer.

His silence is enough.

SCENE 4 — BROOKE REFUSES TO ACCEPT IT

Brooke turns away.

She walks toward the window, trying to process what Isaiah has said.

Isaiah watches her.

BROOKE

“You could have just told me the truth from the beginning.”

ISAIAH

“I know.”

BROOKE

“You let me keep believing there was still something between us.”

Isaiah looks down.

ISAIAH

“I’m sorry.”

Brooke turns around.

BROOKE

“Sorry doesn’t fix everything.”

Isaiah nods.

ISAIAH

“I know that too.”

Brooke looks directly at him.

BROOKE

“Are you really happy with Mariah?”

Isaiah pauses.

The question hangs in the air.

Finally, he answers.

ISAIAH

“I think I can be.”

Brooke closes her eyes for a moment.

She realizes Isaiah isn’t changing his mind.

BROOKE

“Then you should have the courage to say it clearly.”

Isaiah looks at her.

ISAIAH

“I’m happy with Mariah.”

Brooke opens her eyes.

The words hurt, but she remains standing.

SCENE 5 — BROOKE WALKS AWAY

Brooke picks up her bag.

Isaiah watches silently.

ISAIAH

“Brooke…”

She stops.

BROOKE

“What?”

Isaiah hesitates.

ISAIAH

“I never wanted things to get this bad.”

Brooke gives him a disappointed look.

BROOKE

“But they did.”

Isaiah has no response.

Brooke walks toward the door.

Before leaving, she turns around one last time.

BROOKE

“You made your choice.”

Isaiah nods.

ISAIAH

“Yes.”

BROOKE

“Then live with it.”

She opens the door.

Isaiah remains inside.

Brooke steps outside.

The door slowly closes behind her.

SCENE 6 — ISAIAH ALONE

Isaiah stands quietly in the living room.

The argument is over.

But the silence feels heavier than before.

He looks toward the door where Brooke disappeared.

His anger begins to fade.

Now there is only uncertainty.

His phone vibrates.

He looks at the screen.

It is a message from Mariah.

Isaiah stares at it for a few seconds.

He doesn’t immediately respond.

Instead, he sits down.

For the first time, he begins thinking about the consequences of his decision.

Outside, Brooke walks away from the house.

She looks back once.

Then she continues down the street.

Inside, Isaiah remains alone with his thoughts.

His relationship with Brooke may be over.

His future with Mariah is uncertain.

But one thing is clear.

He has made his choice.

FADE OUT.
