THE HIDDEN CAR
SCENE 1 — BROOKE’S HOUSE — DRIVEWAY — MORNING
The morning is calm.
Soft sunlight falls across the driveway.
BROOKE walks out of the house, holding her phone and car keys. She looks tired but focused.
She reaches the spot where she normally parks her car.
She suddenly stops.
Her expression changes.
The car is gone.
Brooke looks around in confusion.
She checks the driveway again.
Nothing.
BROOKE
Where is my car?
She walks toward the street, looking left and right.
Her confusion slowly turns into worry.
BROOKE
I know I parked it right here.
She looks around again.
BROOKE
Nobody told me they were taking my car.
Brooke quickly calls LARRY.
SCENE 2 — LARRY’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — MORNING
LARRY sits on the couch, looking through his phone.
His phone rings.
He sees Brooke’s name and answers.
LARRY
Hello, Brooke?
Brooke sounds worried.
BROOKE
Larry, I can’t find my car.
Larry immediately sits up.
LARRY
What do you mean you can’t find your car?
BROOKE
It was parked outside my house. I came out, and it’s gone.
Larry looks concerned.
LARRY
Are you sure you parked it there?
BROOKE
Yes, Larry. I’m completely sure.
She looks outside again.
BROOKE
I don’t understand. It just disappeared.
Larry thinks for a moment.
LARRY
Did you ask anyone if they moved it?
BROOKE
No. That’s why I’m calling you.
Larry stands up.
LARRY
I’ll help you figure this out.
BROOKE
I just want to know where my car is.
LARRY
I’ll find out what happened.
SCENE 3 — ISAIAH’S HOUSE — GARAGE — SAME MORNING
The garage door is partially closed.
ISAIAH stands beside Brooke’s car.
He looks angry.
His expression shows that he is still upset about Brooke’s recent behavior toward him.
ISAIAH
Brooke thought she could treat me however she wanted.
He looks toward the garage door.
ISAIAH
Now she can learn what it feels like when someone takes something away from her.
Isaiah walks around the car.
He checks that it is completely hidden.
ISAIAH
She’ll eventually find out.
Isaiah closes the garage door.
The car disappears into darkness.
SCENE 4 — BROOKE’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — LATER
Brooke sits on the couch, anxiously waiting.
Larry arrives.
She immediately stands.
BROOKE
Did you find anything?
Larry shakes his head.
LARRY
Not yet.
BROOKE
Larry, I don’t understand how someone could take my car without me knowing.
LARRY
We’ll figure it out.
Brooke starts thinking about the people who might have a reason to do this.
BROOKE
Wait.
LARRY
What?
BROOKE
Isaiah.
Larry becomes quiet.
LARRY
Why would you think Isaiah took it?
BROOKE
Because he’s angry with me.
LARRY
Did something happen between you two?
BROOKE
We had an argument.
LARRY
Brooke, if you think Isaiah is involved, we need to be careful before accusing him.
BROOKE
I know.
She looks toward the window.
BROOKE
But I have a feeling he knows something.
SCENE 5 — ISAIAH’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON
Isaiah sits quietly in his living room.
His phone is in his hand.
He sees another message from Brooke.
He reads it but doesn’t respond.
ISAIAH
Looking for your car, Brooke?
He puts the phone down.
For a moment, he seems satisfied.
But then his expression becomes serious.
He realizes that hiding the car could create bigger problems.
ISAIAH
You should have thought about that before making me angry.
He stands and walks toward the garage.
SCENE 6 — BROOKE’S HOUSE — EVENING
The sunlight begins to fade.
Brooke stands near the window.
Larry is still there.
BROOKE
I just want my car back.
LARRY
You’re going to get it back.
BROOKE
How can you be so sure?
LARRY
Because whoever took it had to put it somewhere.
BROOKE
So you think someone I know did this?
LARRY
It’s possible.
BROOKE
Isaiah.
Larry doesn’t answer immediately.
BROOKE
You think it was him too.
LARRY
I think we need proof.
Brooke grabs her phone.
BROOKE
Then let’s find it.
SCENE 7 — ISAIAH’S GARAGE — NIGHT
The garage is dark.
Isaiah stands beside Brooke’s car.
He looks at it for several seconds.
His anger has faded slightly.
Now he looks uncertain.
He hears his phone ringing.
Brooke is calling.
Isaiah stares at the screen.
He doesn’t answer.
The phone stops.
A message appears.
BROOKE’S MESSAGE
“Isaiah, if you know where my car is, please tell me.”
Isaiah’s expression changes.
He realizes Brooke is genuinely worried.
ISAIAH
Maybe I went too far.
He looks at the car.
Silence fills the garage.
SCENE 8 — BROOKE’S HOUSE — NIGHT
Brooke sits beside Larry.
Her phone is still in her hand.
BROOKE
He isn’t answering.
LARRY
That doesn’t prove anything.
BROOKE
But something feels wrong.
Suddenly, she receives a message.
She looks at the screen.
Her eyes widen.
BROOKE
Larry…
LARRY
What?
Brooke turns the phone toward him.
The message is from an unknown number.
It contains only one sentence:
“Your car is closer than you think.”
Brooke’s face turns pale.
LARRY
Don’t go anywhere alone.
BROOKE
Who sent this?
Larry looks toward the window.
LARRY
I think we’re about to find out.
SCENE 9 — ISAIAH’S GARAGE — LATE NIGHT
Isaiah stands silently beside the hidden car.
He hears another notification.
He checks his phone.
BROOKE’S MESSAGE
“I just want my car back. Please.”
Isaiah stares at the words.
His anger finally begins to disappear.
ISAIAH
This wasn’t supposed to go this far.
He reaches for the garage door.
His hand stops.
He knows that returning the car means facing Brooke.
Isaiah looks down.
ISAIAH
What have I done?
The garage door begins to open.
Light spills inside.
The hidden car becomes visible.
Isaiah stands there, knowing the truth can no longer stay hidden.
