Brooke Finally Asks Lynette for Help

The Confrontation

The room suddenly became quiet after Lynette walked inside.

Brooke stood near the hallway, trying to hold back her emotions. Her eyes were still watery, and she looked uncomfortable seeing everyone standing there. Larry was beside her, while Bethany stood across the room with her arms crossed.

Bethany finally broke the silence.

“I don’t understand why everyone is acting like I did something terrible,” she said. “I was trying to help Brooke.”

Bethany explained that she wanted Brooke to understand that life was not easy. She was frustrated because Brooke was not going to college and did not have a job.

“I have done everything I could for this family, and instead of appreciating it, Brooke talks back to me.”

Larry immediately looked at Bethany.

“Bethany, that’s enough. I already told you what my problem was with the way you talk to Brooke.”

Bethany turned toward him.

“So now I’m not even allowed to correct her?”

Larry shook his head.

“That’s not what I said. You can correct her, but there’s a difference between correcting someone and constantly putting them down.”

Lynette Speaks Up

Lynette stepped forward and looked directly at Bethany.

“You can give Brooke advice without making her feel like she has no value.”

Bethany tried to defend herself, saying Lynette did not know everything that had happened before she arrived.

“Maybe I wasn’t here for everything,” Lynette replied, “but I can see what this is doing to her right now.”

Brooke finally spoke.

“I just wanted somebody to listen to me.”

Brooke explained that constantly being criticized had started to affect the way she saw herself.

“I know I have things I need to figure out. I know I’m not perfect. But every day I hear that I’m lazy or immature. After a while, you start believing those things.”

Larry Defends Brooke

Larry looked at Bethany seriously.

“I’ve told you before. Brooke is my daughter. You can disagree with her, but you cannot keep tearing her down.”

Bethany became defensive again.

“I was trying to make her stronger.”

“Then choose better words,” Larry said.

Lynette agreed with Larry and reminded Bethany that being strong does not mean someone has to be constantly criticized.

Brooke’s Unexpected Call

Bethany asked Brooke why she had called Lynette instead of talking to her.

“Because I didn’t know who else would listen,” Brooke answered.

Lynette reassured Brooke that asking someone she trusted for help was not wrong.

The argument slowly began to calm down, but the tension in the house was still obvious.

The Unexpected Visitor

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Everyone turned toward the front door.

“Were you expecting somebody?” Larry asked.

Brooke shook her head.

Larry walked toward the door and opened it.

His expression immediately changed.

Someone was standing outside.

Brooke looked confused.

“Dad? Who is it?”

Larry didn’t answer immediately. He slowly turned back toward the room.

“Guys… we have another problem.”

Everyone looked at him.

Larry explained that the unexpected visitor had come specifically to talk about Brooke.

Brooke’s expression suddenly changed.

Lynette noticed her reaction immediately.

“You know this person?”

Brooke didn’t answer.

The room fell completely silent.

Whatever had happened between Brooke and Bethany was no longer the only problem in the house.

And nobody knew why this unexpected visitor had arrived.

But Brooke clearly knew more than she was saying.
