💔 Chapter 1: Amber’s Decision

It was a beautiful morning, but Amber’s heart was filled with mixed emotions. She was standing in front of the mirror, getting ready to leave the house. Today was the day she had been waiting for. After months of arguments, heartbreak, and disappointment, she was finally going to meet her lawyer and file for divorce from Anthony.

Dave was sitting on the couch, looking unusually quiet.

Amber walked toward him and gently said, “Dave, I’m leaving. Today, Anthony and I are meeting our lawyer, and hopefully, our divorce will finally be completed. After that, we can get married and start our own life together.” ❤️

Dave looked at her and forced a smile.

“That’s good, Amber. Go ahead. I’ll stay home today. I’m not feeling well. Otherwise, I would have gone with you.”

Amber immediately became concerned.

“Are you sure you’re okay, Dave? You look tired.”

Dave nodded.

“Don’t worry about me, sweetheart. Just take care of everything with Anthony. I’ll be right here when you come back.”

Amber smiled and kissed his forehead.

“Okay, Dave. You rest. I’ll be back as soon as everything is finished. And then, finally, we’ll be free to live our lives together.”

Dave smiled again, but something about his expression felt different.

Amber didn’t notice.

She picked up her purse, walked toward the front door, and left.

But the moment the door closed, Dave’s smile disappeared. 😳

He immediately grabbed his phone and called someone.

📞 Chapter 2: The Secret Phone Call

“Hello, Dave?” a familiar female voice answered.

It was Evelyn.

Dave looked toward the front door to make sure Amber was gone.

“Evelyn, Amber just left. She’s going to meet Anthony and the lawyer. It’s going to take her a long time to come back. You can come over now.”

Evelyn sounded excited.

“Are you serious, Dave? She’s really gone?”

“Yes. Everything is going according to plan. Just come over.”

Evelyn laughed softly.

“Okay, Dave. I’m on my way.”

Dave ended the call and looked around the house.

For months, he had been hiding something from Amber. He had promised her a future, a marriage, and a life together. But behind those promises, another relationship had been quietly growing.

Within minutes, Evelyn arrived at Dave’s house.

Dave opened the door, smiled, and welcomed her inside.

Dave and Evelyn entered the bedroom and sat together on the bed.

Evelyn smiled.

“Come on, Dave. You know exactly what I’m talking about. I told you that you didn’t have to choose between Amber and me. You could keep Amber in your life and still have me.”

Dave sighed.

“Evelyn, you’re my old girlfriend. We have a history together. I can’t just forget everything we shared.”

Evelyn moved closer.

“And what about Amber?”

Dave looked away for a moment.

“Amber wants to marry me. I care about her, too. But that doesn’t mean I can forget you.”

Evelyn smiled.

“So, you’re saying you want both of us in your life?”

Dave nodded.

“Yes. That’s what I’m saying.”

Evelyn looked into his eyes.

“Then promise me you won’t change your mind again.”

Dave held her hand.

“I promise.”

For a moment, Evelyn looked emotional.

“Dave, I thought I had lost you forever.”

Dave gently pulled her closer, and Evelyn kissed him.

Dave kissed her back.

They continued embracing, completely unaware of the heartbreak waiting just outside the bedroom.

A loud sound came from downstairs.

The front door had opened.

Amber had arrived at the lawyer’s office with her heart full of hope.

But when she arrived, Anthony was already there.

The lawyer looked through the documents and explained that the divorce process would require additional paperwork and another meeting.

Amber felt disappointed.

After the meeting, Amber decided to return home.

She wanted to surprise Dave.

She even stopped along the way to buy his favorite food.

She opened the front door and called out.

There was no answer.

Amber placed her purse on the table and walked toward the bedroom.

As she approached the door, she heard a woman’s voice.

“Dave?” she whispered.

She moved closer.

The bedroom door was slightly open.

Amber stood frozen in the doorway.

Dave and Evelyn were lying together on the bed, embracing and kissing.

Dave immediately turned toward the door.

His face went pale.

Evelyn quickly moved away from him.

“Amber!” Dave shouted.

Amber stared at him in disbelief.

“YOU CHEATED ON ME!”

Her voice echoed through the room.

“You told me you weren’t feeling well! You told me to go to the lawyer! I was there trying to end my marriage to Anthony so I could finally be with YOU!”

Dave stood up in panic.

“Amber, please. Let me explain!”

“EXPLAIN WHAT?” Amber cried.

“You lied to me! You looked me in the eyes and told me you loved me! You promised me a future!”

Her hands began to tremble.

“And while I was fighting for our future, you were here with HER?”

Evelyn looked down, unable to answer.

But Amber wasn’t finished.

She suddenly dropped to her knees on the floor.

Her purse slipped from her hand.

Tears streamed down her face as she covered her mouth and began sobbing.

“Why, Dave? Why would you do this to me?”

Dave stepped toward her.

“Amber, please get up. Let’s talk.”

Amber shook her head.

“Don’t touch me!”

Her voice broke.

“I trusted you with everything. I was ready to leave Anthony forever because I believed you were different.”

Behind Amber stood her lawyer, who had arrived moments later after following her inside.

She had witnessed everything.

Her eyes widened in shock.

“Amber…” she whispered.

Amber looked up at Dave one more time.

“Was any of it real?”

Dave couldn’t answer.

The lawyer stepped forward.

“Dave, I think you owe Amber an explanation.”

Dave looked at Evelyn.

Evelyn looked back at him.

Dave opened his mouth.

But before he could answer, Evelyn suddenly spoke.

“Dave didn’t just call me here today because you were leaving.”

Dave immediately interrupted.

“Evelyn, stop!”

“He told me that once your divorce was finalized, everything would change.”

Amber’s face turned pale.

“What do you mean?”

Evelyn looked directly at Dave.

Then she revealed something that left Amber completely speechless.

“Dave promised me that after your divorce, he would…”

Suddenly, Dave’s phone began ringing.

He looked at the screen.

His expression changed instantly.

The lawyer noticed.

“Who is calling you, Dave?”

Dave didn’t answer.

Amber stepped closer.

“Answer it.”

Dave slowly picked up the phone.

And when he heard the voice on the other end, his face turned completely white.
