Amber Gets Divorced From Anthony, Only to Discover Dave Is Marrying Omni

SCENE 1 — ANTHONY’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON

The house is unusually quiet as Amber arrives at Anthony’s home. She has no idea that the meeting is about to change her life. Anthony opens the door with a serious expression on his face.

AMBER
Anthony, why did you ask me to come here?

Anthony steps aside and lets her enter. Amber immediately notices several documents lying on the table.

She walks closer and looks down. Her eyes widen when she realizes what they are.

AMBER
Are those divorce papers?

ANTHONY
Yes, Amber. These are the final divorce papers.

Amber slowly picks up the documents. For a moment, she says nothing. She looks at Anthony, then back at the papers.

AMBER
So this is really happening?

ANTHONY
Yes. We’ve reached the end of our marriage. It’s time for both of us to move forward.

Amber takes a deep breath and signs the papers. Anthony signs as well. Their divorce is finally official.

SCENE 2 — AMBER LEAVES ANTHONY’S HOUSE

Amber places the divorce papers inside her purse and walks toward the door. Although the end of her marriage is emotional, she cannot stop thinking about Dave.

AMBER
Anthony, I never thought this day would actually come.

ANTHONY
Neither did I. But sometimes people have to accept that their relationship has reached its end.

Amber nods slowly.

AMBER
I hope you find happiness.

ANTHONY
And I hope you do too.

Amber walks outside. The moment she reaches her car, a smile appears on her face.

She thinks about Dave and imagines the possibility of finally being together with him.

AMBER
Now I’m finally free. Maybe Dave and I can finally have the life I always wanted.

Amber drives away, excited about what she believes will be the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.

SCENE 3 — AMBER’S HOUSE — EVENING

Amber arrives home with a smile on her face. She is still thinking about Dave and wondering how she will tell him that her divorce is finally complete.

But as she approaches the house, she notices several unfamiliar cars outside.

AMBER
What’s going on?

She opens the door and walks inside.

Then she suddenly freezes.

Dave is standing in the room with his assistant, Omni. The atmosphere feels strangely different.

Amber looks around and notices decorations that immediately make her suspicious.

AMBER
Dave?

Dave turns around.

AMBER
What is she doing here?

Amber looks from Dave to Omni. Then she notices the wedding decorations.

AMBER
Wait… are you getting married?

Dave takes a deep breath.

DAVE
Yes.

Amber’s face changes immediately.

DAVE
I’m marrying Omni.

SHOCKING MOMENT: Amber has just become officially divorced from Anthony, believing she could finally be with Dave. Instead, she discovers that Dave plans to marry Omni.

SCENE 4 — AMBER CONFRONTS DAVE

Amber walks toward Dave, unable to hide her anger and confusion.

AMBER
What are you doing, Dave? How could you do this?

DAVE
I’m making a decision about my life.

AMBER
Your life? You’re marrying her?

DAVE
Yes.

Amber looks toward Omni.

AMBER
Omni, did you know about this?

OMNI
Amber, I didn’t want to hurt you.

Amber turns back toward Dave.

AMBER
Dave, I just got divorced from Anthony. Do you know why I did it?

Dave remains silent.

AMBER
I thought I was finally going to be with you. I thought you were waiting for me.

DAVE
Amber, I never promised you marriage.

Amber looks completely devastated.

SCENE 5 — AMBER BREAKS DOWN

Amber’s eyes fill with tears. She struggles to control her emotions.

AMBER
Dave, I trusted you.

Dave looks at her but remains quiet.

AMBER
I thought you cared about me. I went through all of that because I thought one day you and I would be together.

Her voice begins to break.

AMBER
And now you’re standing here telling me you’re marrying your assistant?

DAVE
Amber, this is my life. I can do whatever I want with it.

Amber begins crying.

DAVE
You need to stay away from my life now.

Those words hurt Amber deeply.

AMBER
How could you do this to me?

She wipes her tears but cannot stop crying.

AMBER
I got divorced from Anthony for you. I thought we were going to have a future together.

AMBER
But you cheated on me, and now you’re marrying your own assistant.

EMOTIONAL HIGHLIGHT: Amber realizes that the future she imagined with Dave may never happen.

SCENE 6 — AMBER WALKS AWAY

Amber grabs her purse and walks toward the door. Dave watches her silently.

Before leaving, Amber stops and looks back at him one last time.

AMBER
I thought you were the person I was going to build my future with.

Dave remains silent.

AMBER
But now I realize I was building that future alone.

Amber opens the door and walks outside while crying.

The door closes behind her.

Outside, Amber stands alone for a moment, trying to control her emotions.

AMBER
Why did I believe him?

She wipes her tears and walks toward her car.

SCENE 7 — A NEW CHAPTER?

Later that night, Amber sits alone in her room. The divorce papers from Anthony are still inside her purse.

She takes them out and looks at them quietly.

A tear rolls down her cheek.

AMBER
I thought these papers were going to set me free.

She slowly folds the papers.

AMBER
Instead, they brought me here.

Amber looks at herself in the mirror.

She knows she cannot force Dave to choose her. If she wants to move forward, she may have to make that decision for herself.

AMBER
Maybe it’s time I choose myself.

She puts the divorce papers away.

But the pain is still there.
