Scene 1: Brooke Discovers the Truth
The evening is quiet, but Brooke’s mind is racing. She has just learned something that completely changes the way she sees Mariah and Isaiah.
According to what she has discovered, Mariah went with Isaiah before Brooke’s departure and spent the night with him.
Brooke stands frozen, struggling to process the information. Her expression slowly changes from disbelief to anger. She never imagined that someone so close to her could keep such a secret.
BROOKE: “Wait a minute. Are you seriously telling me that Mariah went with Isaiah before I left?”
Her voice trembles. She takes a deep breath, trying to control her emotions.
BROOKE: “And she actually spent the night with him? How could they do something like that behind my back?”
Brooke walks across the room, unable to sit still. Her thoughts keep returning to the same question: Why did nobody tell her the truth? She decides that she cannot continue living with unanswered questions. She reaches for her phone and calls Isaiah.
BROOKE: “Isaiah, I need you to come over. There’s something we need to discuss, and I want you to be completely honest with me.”
She ends the call before he can ask too many questions. Her face becomes serious. Tonight, she intends to uncover everything.
Scene 2: Isaiah Arrives
A little later, Isaiah arrives at Brooke’s house. He enters with a confused expression, unaware of how serious the situation has become. Brooke is standing in the living room, waiting for him. Her arms are crossed, and her eyes are fixed on him.
ISAIAH: “Brooke, what’s going on? You sounded really serious on the phone.”
Brooke doesn’t answer immediately. She looks directly into his eyes.
BROOKE: “I want you to tell me something, and I don’t want any lies.”
Isaiah becomes uncomfortable.
ISAIAH: “Okay… What are you talking about?”
Brooke steps closer.
BROOKE: “Did Mariah go with you before I left? And did you two spend the night together?”
Isaiah’s expression changes instantly. He looks away. For a moment, the room becomes completely silent. Brooke notices his reaction.
BROOKE: “Why are you looking away? Just answer my question!”
Isaiah tries to find the right words.
ISAIAH: “Brooke, listen. It’s not exactly how you’re thinking.”
Brooke shakes her head.
BROOKE: “Don’t do that. I asked you a simple question. Is it true or not?”
Isaiah remains silent. His hesitation only makes Brooke more suspicious.
Scene 3: Mariah Reveals the Secret
Suddenly, Mariah enters the living room. She immediately notices the tension between Brooke and Isaiah.
MARIAH: “What’s happening here?”
Brooke turns toward her. Her eyes narrow.
BROOKE: “Oh, perfect. Since you’re here, maybe you can explain what happened.”
Mariah looks confused.
MARIAH: “What are you talking about, Brooke?”
BROOKE: “Don’t pretend you don’t know! Did you go with Isaiah before I left? Did you spend the night with him?”
Mariah looks at Isaiah. Isaiah gives her a nervous glance, silently hoping she will avoid the subject. But Mariah realizes that the secret is already out. She takes a breath.
MARIAH: “Yes, Brooke. It’s true.”
Brooke freezes. For a few seconds, she cannot believe what she has just heard.
BROOKE: “What?”
Mariah lowers her eyes.
MARIAH: “Yes. I went with Isaiah, and we spent the night together.”
Brooke steps backward, overwhelmed by anger and disbelief.
BROOKE: “You actually admitted it? After everything?”
Mariah tries to explain.
MARIAH: “Brooke, I know you’re upset, but please let me explain.”
BROOKE: “Explain what? How you managed to hide this from me?”
Her voice rises.
BROOKE: “I trusted you, Mariah! I never thought you would do something like this behind my back!”
Mariah attempts to approach her. Brooke immediately steps away.
Scene 4: The Confrontation Escalates
Brooke’s emotions become uncontrollable. She points toward Mariah, demanding answers.
BROOKE: “How long were you planning to keep this secret? Did you think I would never find out?”
MARIAH: “I wasn’t trying to hurt you.”
BROOKE: “Then why didn’t you tell me the truth?”
Mariah struggles to respond. Isaiah steps between them.
ISAIAH: “Brooke, please calm down. We can talk about this without making things worse.”
Brooke turns toward him.
BROOKE: “And you! You had every opportunity to tell me the truth!”
Isaiah looks ashamed.
ISAIAH: “I know I should have told you.”
BROOKE: “That doesn’t change anything!”
Mariah tries to defend herself.
MARIAH: “Brooke, you need to understand that things happened differently than you think.”
But Brooke has reached her breaking point. In a sudden burst of anger, she rushes toward Mariah. Isaiah immediately reacts. The two women struggle, and Mariah loses her balance, falling onto the living-room rug. Brooke moves toward her, still furious. Isaiah grabs Brooke’s arm and tries to pull her away.
ISAIAH: “Brooke! Stop! That’s enough!”
Brooke struggles against his attempt to separate them.
BROOKE: “Let me go, Isaiah! She needs to answer for what she did!”
Mariah tries to move away, frightened by how quickly the confrontation has escalated. The living room becomes chaotic.
Scene 5: Isaiah Tries to Stop Brooke
Isaiah positions himself between the two women. He holds Brooke back, trying to prevent another confrontation.
ISAIAH: “Brooke, look at me! You need to stop right now!”
Brooke’s eyes fill with tears. Her anger is mixed with disappointment and betrayal.
BROOKE: “You don’t understand what this feels like!”
ISAIAH: “I understand that you’re hurt, but this isn’t the way to handle it!”
Brooke attempts to move around him.
BROOKE: “Move, Isaiah!”
ISAIAH: “No! I’m not letting this get any worse!”
Mariah remains on the floor, visibly shaken. She slowly sits up and looks toward Brooke.
MARIAH: “Brooke, I’m sorry.”
Those words make Brooke even more emotional.
BROOKE: “Don’t say you’re sorry now! You should have thought about that before!”
Isaiah tightens his hold on Brooke’s arm and guides her away from Mariah.
ISAIAH: “Please, Brooke. Just take a breath.”
Brooke finally stops struggling for a moment. Her breathing is heavy. She looks at Mariah, then at Isaiah. The realization of what has happened begins to settle in.
Scene 6: The Aftermath
A few moments later, the room becomes quieter. Mariah is helped into a chair. She appears shaken and needs assistance after the fall and struggle. Isaiah checks that she is safe before turning back toward Brooke. Brooke stands near the doorway, her face filled with anger and disappointment.
ISAIAH: “Brooke, we need to calm down and make sure Mariah is okay.”
BROOKE: “Why are you so concerned about her?”
Isaiah looks at her seriously.
ISAIAH: “Because nobody should get hurt over this.”
Brooke looks away.
BROOKE: “You both betrayed me. And now you expect me to stand here and pretend everything is fine?”
ISAIAH: “No. I’m not asking you to forget anything.”
He pauses.
ISAIAH: “But we need to deal with what happened without hurting anyone else.”
Mariah looks toward Brooke.
MARIAH: “I know I should have been honest with you. I can’t change what happened, but I never wanted things to end like this.”
Brooke lets out a bitter laugh.
BROOKE: “You had so many chances to tell me. You chose silence every single time.”
Mariah lowers her head. Isaiah looks between them, realizing that the truth has permanently changed their relationship.
Scene 7: Brooke Makes Her Decision
Brooke slowly walks toward the front door. Isaiah follows her.
ISAIAH: “Brooke, where are you going?”
She stops but doesn’t turn around.
BROOKE: “I need to get away from both of you.”
ISAIAH: “Please, don’t leave like this.”
Brooke finally turns toward him. Her eyes are filled with disappointment.
BROOKE: “You should have thought about that before hiding the truth from me.”
Isaiah has no answer. Brooke opens the door. Before stepping outside, she looks back at Mariah.
BROOKE: “I trusted you more than you know. But after tonight, I don’t know if I can ever look at you the same way again.”
Mariah remains silent. Brooke walks out, leaving Isaiah standing in the doorway. He looks back at Mariah, then toward the empty hallway.
