BROOKE CALLS LENTI — THE CALL THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING
🎬 INT. LARRY AND BETHANY’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — EVENING
The house is unusually quiet.
Brooke stands near the hallway, holding her phone tightly.
Her eyes are filled with frustration and tears.
She looks toward the room where Larry and Bethany are talking.
Brooke takes a slow breath.
She feels trapped.
She unlocks her phone and scrolls through her contacts.
Her finger stops on one name.
Lenti.
She hesitates for a moment before pressing CALL.
The phone rings.
Once.
Twice.
Then Lenti answers.
LENTI
Brooke? What’s wrong?
BROOKE
Lenti… please come and get me from here.
LENTI
Where are you?
BROOKE
I’m at Larry and Bethany’s house.
They’re putting so much pressure on me.
I feel like I can’t breathe anymore.
Brooke wipes away a tear.
BROOKE
Please… I just need to get away from here.
LENTI
Brooke, listen to me.
Don’t panic.
I’m coming.
BROOKE
Are you sure?
LENTI
Yes.
I’m on my way.
Just stay somewhere safe until I get there.
Brooke closes her eyes.
For the first time that evening, she feels a little relief.
BROOKE
Thank you, Lenti.
I really need you right now.
LENTI
I’ve got you.
Just stay calm.
I’ll be there soon.
The call ends.
🎬 INT. HALLWAY — CONTINUOUS
Brooke lowers the phone.
She looks toward the living room.
Larry suddenly appears at the end of the hallway.
Brooke quickly puts her phone down.
Larry notices her nervous expression.
LARRY
Brooke?
BROOKE
Yeah?
LARRY
You okay?
BROOKE
I’m fine.
Larry studies her face.
He knows something is wrong.
LARRY
You don’t look fine.
BROOKE
I just need some space.
LARRY
You can talk to me.
BROOKE
Not right now, Dad.
She walks toward her room.
Larry watches her leave.
BETHANY
What happened?
LARRY
I don’t know.
Something’s bothering her.
BETHANY
Maybe we should give her some time.
LARRY
Yeah.
But I don’t like seeing her this upset.
🎬 INT. BROOKE’S BEDROOM — MOMENTS LATER
Brooke closes the door.
She sits on the edge of her bed.
Her phone lights up.
A message from Lenti appears:
Brooke reads the message twice.
A tear rolls down her cheek.
She quickly wipes it away.
She begins packing a small bag.
A few clothes.
Her charger.
Her wallet.
She stops.
For a moment, she wonders if leaving is really the right decision.
Then she hears voices outside.
Brooke freezes.
BETHANY (O.S.)
We need to figure out what Brooke wants.
LARRY (O.S.)
I know.
But she thinks we’re against her.
BROOKE
They don’t understand me.
She places her phone inside her bag.
🎬 EXT. LARRY AND BETHANY’S HOUSE — NIGHT
A car turns onto the street.
Lenti is driving.
His expression is serious.
He checks the address again.
He knows Brooke is upset.
He wants to make sure she doesn’t feel alone.
The car pulls up outside the house.
Lenti parks.
He immediately gets out.
🎬 INT. LARRY AND BETHANY’S HOUSE — HALLWAY
The doorbell rings.
Larry looks toward the front door.
Bethany follows him.
Larry opens the door.
Lenti is standing outside.
LARRY
Lenti?
LENTI
I’m here for Brooke.
Larry’s expression changes.
LARRY
Why?
LENTI
She called me.
She’s overwhelmed and needs some space.
BETHANY
She called you?
LENTI
Yes.
And I think the best thing right now is to let her calm down.
Larry takes a deep breath.
LARRY
Where is she?
LENTI
Probably in her room.
LARRY
Go talk to her.
Lenti walks inside.
🎬 INT. BROOKE’S BEDROOM — CONTINUOUS
Lenti knocks gently.
LENTI
Brooke?
There is silence.
Then Brooke opens the door.
She sees Lenti.
Her eyes immediately fill with tears.
BROOKE
You actually came.
LENTI
I told you I would.
BROOKE
I just need to get out for a little while.
LENTI
Then we’ll take some time and figure everything out.
BROOKE
Thank you.
LENTI
You don’t have to handle everything by yourself.
BROOKE
I know.
They walk out of the bedroom together.
🎬 INT. HALLWAY — MOMENTS LATER
Larry and Bethany are waiting in the hallway.
Larry looks at Brooke.
His expression softens.
LARRY
Brooke…
She stops.
LARRY
I’m sorry you’ve been feeling this way.
Brooke looks at him.
BROOKE
I just need some time.
LARRY
Okay.
BETHANY
Take the time you need.
Brooke looks between them.
For a moment, nobody speaks.
Then Brooke walks toward the door with Lenti.
As the door opens, Brooke looks back one last time.
Her eyes are still emotional.
But she seems calmer now.
BROOKE
I’ll call you later, Dad.
LARRY
I’ll be here.
Brooke leaves with Lenti.
The door closes.
Larry and Bethany stand silently in the hallway.
They both realize something has changed.
🎬 OUTSIDE — NIGHT
Brooke gets into Lenti’s car.
Lenti starts the engine.
Brooke looks through the window at the house.
Then she turns away.
LENTI
Ready?
BROOKE
Yeah.
Let’s go.
The car slowly pulls away.
Larry watches from the doorway.
His face is filled with worry.
Bethany stands beside him.
