SHARRA DISCOVERS BROOKE’S SECRET — AND MAKES A DANGEROUS PLAN

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – AFTERNOON

The house is unusually quiet.

Brooke walks through the living room holding a small envelope from the doctor. She looks nervous but excited.

She carefully places it inside her purse.

She has no idea that someone is watching from the hallway.

Sharra steps into view.

Her eyes immediately notice the envelope.

SHARRA

Brooke… what’s that?

Brooke quickly closes her purse.

BROOKE

Nothing. Just something from the doctor.

Sharra studies Brooke’s face.

SHARRA

The doctor?

Brooke gives a small smile.

BROOKE

Yeah. I’m okay.

Sharra watches her walk away.

Something about Brooke’s expression bothers her.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – HALLWAY – MOMENTS LATER

Sharra stands alone.

She looks toward Brooke’s bedroom.

Her expression changes when she remembers the envelope.

She slowly takes out her phone.

SHARRA

Under her breath.

I need to know what’s going on.

She searches through her contacts and makes a call.

INT. BROOKE’S BEDROOM – SAME TIME

Brooke sits on her bed.

She opens the envelope and looks at the report.

Her eyes widen.

She places one hand over her stomach.

A nervous smile appears on her face.

BROOKE

I can’t believe this is really happening.

She picks up her phone.

She starts typing a message to Bethany.

Before she can send it, there is a knock.

Brooke quickly hides the report.

BROOKE

Come in.

Sharra enters.

She smiles, but the smile feels forced.

SHARRA

What are you doing?

BROOKE

Nothing. Just relaxing.

Sharra sits nearby.

Her eyes move toward Brooke’s purse.

SHARRA

You seem different today.

BROOKE

Different how?

SHARRA

I don’t know. Happier.

Brooke smiles.

BROOKE

Maybe I have a reason.

Sharra becomes more suspicious.

SHARRA

What reason?

Brooke hesitates.

BROOKE

I’ll tell everyone soon.

Sharra nods slowly.

SHARRA

Of course.

Sharra stands.

SHARRA

You should get some rest.

She walks toward the door.

Before leaving, she looks back at Brooke.

Brooke doesn’t notice the concern—and anger—in Sharra’s expression.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – KITCHEN – LATER

Sharra enters the kitchen alone.

She places both hands on the counter.

Her breathing becomes tense.

SHARRA

Brooke is pregnant.

The words shock even her.

She begins pacing.

SHARRA

No… this changes everything.

She looks toward the hallway.

SHARRA

Nobody can know what I’m thinking.

Her phone rings.

She answers.

SHARRA

Hello?

A voice speaks on the other end.

Sharra listens.

SHARRA

I’ll handle it.

She ends the call.

Her expression remains serious.

INT. BROOKE’S BEDROOM – EVENING

Brooke is sitting on her bed, talking to Bethany on the phone.

BROOKE

I have something important to tell you.

Bethany responds.

Brooke smiles.

BROOKE

I’m going to tell everyone tonight.

Brooke ends the call.

She looks at the report again.

BROOKE

Everything is going to be different now.

She places the report safely inside a drawer.

She doesn’t know that Sharra has been watching her from outside the bedroom.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Brooke walks into the living room.

Sharra is sitting quietly.

Brooke approaches her.

BROOKE

Sharra, can I tell you something?

Sharra looks up.

SHARRA

Sure.

Brooke takes a breath.

BROOKE

I’m pregnant.

Silence.

Sharra’s face freezes.

Brooke expects a reaction.

Instead, Sharra forces a smile.

SHARRA

Congratulations.

Brooke smiles.

BROOKE

Thank you.

Brooke hugs her.

Sharra remains stiff.

After Brooke walks away, Sharra’s expression changes completely.

INT. SHARRA’S BEDROOM – NIGHT

Sharra closes the door.

She sits on the edge of the bed.

Her thoughts race.

SHARRA

This cannot happen.

She looks down at her phone.

She considers interfering with Brooke’s plans, but stops herself.

SHARRA

I need to think.

She opens a drawer and looks at something she had previously planned to use for a completely different purpose.

She hesitates.

Then she closes the drawer.

SHARRA

Not here. Not like this.

Her anger remains, but she realizes that one wrong decision could destroy the entire family.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – KITCHEN – NEXT MORNING

Brooke enters the kitchen.

She looks tired but happy.

Sharra is preparing breakfast.

BROOKE

Good morning.

SHARRA

Morning.

Brooke sits at the table.

BROOKE

I was thinking about the baby all night.

Sharra turns around.

SHARRA

You shouldn’t get too excited.

Brooke looks confused.

BROOKE

Why would you say that?

Sharra immediately changes her tone.

SHARRA

I mean… you have a lot to think about.

Brooke nods.

BROOKE

I know. But I’m going to figure everything out.

Sharra watches her carefully.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – HALLWAY – LATER

Brooke walks toward the front door.

Sharra watches from the kitchen.

Brooke stops.

BROOKE

I’ll be back later.

SHARRA

Where are you going?

BROOKE

To see Mama.

Sharra forces a smile.

SHARRA

Okay. Be careful.

Brooke leaves.

The front door closes.

Sharra’s smile disappears.

She walks to the window and watches Brooke leave.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – CONTINUOUS

Sharra sits down.

She realizes Brooke trusts her completely.

That realization makes the situation even more serious.

SHARRA

She has no idea.

Sharra looks at her phone.

She considers calling someone.

Instead, she puts the phone down.

For the first time, Sharra seems uncertain about what she is about to do.

EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – DAY

Brooke walks down the driveway.

She smiles while looking at her phone.

A message from Bethany appears.

Brooke replies.

She has no idea what happened inside the house after she left.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – DAY

Sharra remains alone.

She picks up Brooke’s forgotten scarf from the couch.

She stares at it.

Her anger slowly turns into guilt.

SHARRA

What am I doing?

She places the scarf back where she found it.

A long silence follows.

Then she hears the front door opening.

Larry enters.

LARRY

Where’s Brooke?

Sharra looks at him.

For a moment, she considers telling him everything.

SHARRA

She went to see Bethany.

Larry nods.

LARRY

Everything okay?

Sharra pauses.

SHARRA

Yeah.

But her voice tells a different story.

Larry walks away.

Sharra watches him.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – SHARRA’S ROOM – EVENING

Sharra sits alone.

She opens her phone and looks at a message she had drafted.

She reads it.

Then deletes it.

She realizes that whatever happens next could change Brooke’s life forever.

Sharra puts the phone down.

SHARRA

I have to stop this before somebody gets hurt.

She stands.

She walks toward the door.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Brooke returns home.

She walks inside smiling.

BROOKE

I’m back!

Sharra appears from the hallway.

Their eyes meet.

Brooke smiles warmly.

Sharra struggles to look at her.

BROOKE

Are you okay?

Sharra nods.

SHARRA

Yeah.

Brooke walks closer.

BROOKE

You know, I’m really happy you know about the baby.

Sharra looks at Brooke.

Guilt fills her face.

SHARRA

I know.

Brooke hugs her.

Sharra remains silent.

For the first time, she understands that Brooke trusted her with something precious.

And now Sharra must decide whether to continue down a dangerous path—or protect Brooke from the secret she never knew existed.

FADE OUT.
