SCENE 1 — CITY CAFÉ

Warm sunlight spills through the café windows. The place is busy, but Anthony barely notices the crowd.

His attention is fixed on the woman sitting across from him — Yaya.

She smiles while stirring her coffee.

ANTHONY

I don’t know why, but meeting you feels strangely familiar.

YAYA

Maybe because you’re already comfortable around me.

Anthony laughs softly.

ANTHONY

Maybe that’s exactly the problem.

Their eyes meet. For a brief moment, everything around them seems to disappear.

Soft lights fill the room. Anthony and Yaya sit together, talking.

Anthony smiles. They share a tender embrace. For a moment, neither of them says anything.

SCENE 3 — THE SURPRISE DINNER

The next evening, Yaya arrives at Anthony’s house.

Anthony opens the door with a smile.

You came.

YAYA

You invited me. Did you think I wouldn’t?

ANTHONY

Tonight is different.

Yaya notices something unusual about him.

SCENE 4 — THE PROPOSAL

The dining table is beautifully arranged. Candles flicker softly. Two plates sit opposite each other.

Yaya looks around, impressed.

YAYA

You did all this?

ANTHONY

For you.

They begin dinner. They laugh, remember their first meeting, and talk about the moments that brought them closer.

Then Anthony slowly stands.

YAYA

Anthony?

Anthony walks around the table and kneels.

Yaya’s eyes widen.

Anthony opens a small box. Inside is a ring.

ANTHONY

From the first day I met you, something changed inside me.

ANTHONY

I don’t want this to be just another chapter in my life. I want you to be part of my future.

ANTHONY

Yaya, will you marry me?

Yaya covers her mouth with her hand. She is completely shocked.

SCENE 5 — THE SHOCKING DISCOVERY

The front door suddenly opens.

DNISHA

Anthony? I’m home.

No answer.

Dnisha walks toward the dining room.

Then she stops.

Her face changes instantly.

She sees Anthony kneeling in front of Yaya.

She sees the ring.

She sees Yaya standing there, overwhelmed.

DNISHA

Anthony…?

Anthony turns around. His face goes pale.

ANTHONY

Dnisha.

DNISHA

What’s going on?

ANTHONY

Dnisha, listen—

DNISHA

You’re proposing to her?

Anthony struggles to answer.

ANTHONY

It’s not what you think.

DNISHA

Not what I think? Then what am I supposed to think?

Yaya looks uncomfortable.

YAYA

Dnisha, I didn’t know—

DNISHA

You didn’t know what?

Silence fills the room.

Dnisha looks back at Anthony. Her eyes are filled with disbelief and heartbreak.

DNISHA

You’re my boyfriend.

Anthony lowers his eyes.

DNISHA

So why are you proposing to someone else?

Anthony takes a step toward her.

ANTHONY

Dnisha, please let me explain.

DNISHA

Don’t.

A tear rolls down her cheek.

DNISHA

I came home thinking I’d see the person I love. Instead, I walked into this.

Anthony looks devastated.

Yaya stands frozen, unsure what to do.

The candlelight flickers between the three of them.

DNISHA

I need to understand one thing.

A long pause.

DNISHA

When did I stop being enough?

Anthony has no immediate answer.

Dnisha slowly walks away.

ANTHONY

Dnisha, wait!

She stops for a moment, but doesn’t turn around.

The door closes behind her.

Anthony stands motionless. Yaya looks down at the ring in her hand.

The romantic evening has completely collapsed.
