THE TORN TICKET
The evening is quiet.
Shayla stands alone in her room, staring at her phone. Her expression slowly changes as she reads the latest message.
Anthony has made his decision.
He has forbidden Shayla from going to Torsent Casinos. Worse, he has decided to take Dnisha with him instead.
Shayla’s hands tighten around the phone.
Her eyes fill with anger.
She throws the phone onto the bed and begins pacing across the room.
Her breathing becomes heavier. The jealousy and anger inside her grow stronger with every passing second.
She suddenly grabs her purse and storms toward the door.
Anthony’s house is busy with preparations.
Suitcases are open. Clothes are being folded. Travel documents are placed carefully on a table.
Anthony is preparing everything for the upcoming trip to Torsent Casinos Islands.
Dnisha is in her bedroom, packing her belongings.
Anthony nods and walks back toward the living room.
Outside, a car suddenly stops in front of the house.
Shayla steps out.
Her face is filled with anger.
She walks toward the entrance. But instead of making her presence known, Shayla quietly enters the house.
Anthony is nowhere nearby.
Dnisha is still inside her bedroom.
Shayla quietly walks toward Dnisha’s room.
The bedroom door is slightly open.
Shayla carefully pushes it open.
Dnisha is not inside.
Shayla looks around and notices Dnisha’s travel documents.
Her eyes immediately lock onto the boarding pass.
She walks toward the drawer and opens it.
Inside is Dnisha’s plane ticket.
Shayla slowly picks it up.
For a moment, she stares at it.
Her anger returns.
She grips the ticket tightly.

Shayla tears the ticket.
RIP!
She tears it again.
The ticket is now completely destroyed.
Suddenly, footsteps are heard outside.
Shayla freezes.
The bedroom door opens.
Dnisha appears.
She stops immediately when she sees Shayla.
Her eyes move from Shayla’s face to the torn pieces of her plane ticket.
Dnisha rushes toward her.
Shayla steps backward.
Dnisha reaches for her.
But Shayla tears the last remaining piece right in front of her.

Silence.
Dnisha stares at the pieces falling onto the floor.
Anthony is in the living room.
He hears Dnisha’s voice.
His expression immediately changes.
He hears shouting from the bedroom.
Anthony drops what he is holding and quickly moves toward the hallway.
The voices become louder.
Anthony starts running toward the bedroom.
Anthony reaches the bedroom door.
He pushes it open.
His eyes widen.
Shayla is standing in the middle of the room. Dnisha is standing opposite her.
Pieces of the plane ticket are scattered across the floor.
Anthony immediately understands what has happened.
Shayla turns toward him.
Shayla says nothing.
Anthony looks down at the destroyed ticket.
Anthony becomes silent for a moment.
Anthony moves between them.
He looks directly at Shayla.
She points toward the torn ticket.
Anthony takes another step toward her.
Anthony reaches toward her hand.
Shayla pulls her hand back.
Anthony looks down.
The ticket is completely destroyed. There is no way to use it anymore.
Dnisha slowly picks up the torn pieces from the floor.
Shayla looks away.
Anthony takes a deep breath. His anger is now mixed with disappointment.
She looks at him.
For the first time, her confidence begins to fade.
But she still refuses to apologize.
She pauses.
Anthony stares at her.
Nobody speaks.
The room becomes completely silent.
The torn pieces of Dnisha’s plane ticket lie scattered across the floor.
The trip to Torsent Casinos Islands is suddenly thrown into uncertainty.
Anthony looks at Dnisha.
Then at Shayla.
