SHARRA DISCOVERS SHE’S PREGNANT WITH DRE’S BABY — BUT DRE REFUSES TO BELIEVE HER!

Sharra stood frozen in the bathroom, staring at the pregnancy test in her trembling hand. She had taken the test hoping to put an end to her growing fears, but the result had changed everything. Her eyes filled with tears as she slowly sat on the edge of the bathtub, trying to understand how her life had become so complicated. She knew exactly who she believed was responsible for the pregnancy, but the one person she needed to hear from was the one person she feared would deny everything.

Sharra wiped her cheeks, took a deep breath, and walked into the living room, where Dre was sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone as if nothing in the world could disturb his peace.

SHARRA: Dre, I need to talk to you about something serious.

DRE: Can it wait? I’m busy right now.

SHARRA: No, it cannot wait. This is about both of us, and you need to listen to me.

Dre finally looked up, noticing the fear in her expression. He put his phone down and leaned back against the couch.

DRE: What’s going on with you? You’ve been acting strange all day.

Sharra stood in front of him, clutching the pregnancy test behind her back. She wanted to explain everything calmly, but her emotions were already overwhelming her.

SHARRA: I’ve been feeling sick for days. I thought it was stress, but something didn’t feel right. So I decided to take a test.

Dre’s expression changed.

DRE: What kind of test?

Sharra slowly brought the pregnancy test forward and held it where he could see it.

SHARRA: A pregnancy test, Dre. And it came back positive. I’m pregnant.

For several seconds, neither of them spoke. Dre stared at the test before looking at Sharra as if he expected her to admit it was some kind of joke.

DRE: No. That can’t be right.

SHARRA: I took the test, and it was positive. I didn’t make this up.

DRE: You must have done something wrong. Those tests aren’t always accurate.

SHARRA: I was scared to take it in the first place! Do you think I wanted to stand in that bathroom and discover something that could change my entire life?

Dre stood up and began pacing around the living room. His face tightened as he tried to process the news.

DRE: Sharra, you’re telling me you’re pregnant, and you expect me to believe that without asking any questions?

SHARRA: What questions do you have? You know what happened between us!

DRE: Don’t put this all on me. I don’t even know if that test is correct.

Sharra’s eyes filled with tears again. She had expected shock, perhaps even anger, but she hadn’t expected him to dismiss her so quickly.

SHARRA: Dre, I’m not asking you to celebrate. I’m asking you to take me seriously. I’m scared, and instead of standing beside me, you’re treating me like I’m lying to you.

DRE: I’m not calling you a liar. I’m saying I need proof.

SHARRA: Then come with me to the doctor! We can get it confirmed. But don’t stand here and pretend that this has nothing to do with you.

Dre shook his head, refusing to look directly at her.

DRE: I am not making any promises until I know the truth.

Sharra let out a painful laugh, although there was nothing amusing about the situation.

SHARRA: You know what hurts the most? I thought that when I told you something this important, you would at least care about how I felt.

DRE: And what do you want me to do right now? Tell me!

SHARRA: I want you to stop acting like I’m your enemy!

Her voice echoed through the room. Dre went quiet, and for a moment, Sharra thought he might finally understand how frightened she was. But then he picked up his phone from the couch.

DRE: I need some time to think about this.

SHARRA: Time? You can walk away and think about it, but I have to live with this uncertainty every minute of the day!

Dre stopped near the doorway.

DRE: I’m not walking away. I just don’t want to make a decision while we’re both upset.

SHARRA: Then look me in the eyes and tell me you believe I’m telling you the truth.

Dre turned toward her, but the words never came.

That silence hurt Sharra more than anything he could have said.

She lowered the pregnancy test and walked toward the couch, sitting down with both hands pressed against her forehead. Dre watched her for a moment, his expression caught between frustration and uncertainty.

SHARRA: You know what, Dre? I will go to the doctor. I’ll get another test. I’ll do whatever I need to do to find out what’s happening. But I want you to understand something. I didn’t come to you because I wanted to trap you or force you into anything. I came to you because I thought you deserved to know.

DRE: I never said you were trying to trap me.

SHARRA: You didn’t have to say it. The way you’re looking at me tells me everything.

Dre rubbed his face, clearly overwhelmed.

DRE: Sharra, this is a lot to take in.

SHARRA: It’s a lot for me, too! I’m the one who took that test. I’m the one who has been lying awake at night wondering what was wrong with me. And now that I finally have an answer, I have to convince you that I’m not making it up.

Dre looked at the test again, then quickly looked away.

DRE: I said I’ll think about it.

SHARRA: And I’m telling you that I need more than that.

Before Dre could respond, Sharra’s phone began ringing on the coffee table. She glanced at the screen and saw Larry’s name.

She hesitated before answering.

SHARRA: Hello?

LARRY: Sharra, what’s going on? You sound like you’ve been crying.

Sharra looked at Dre, who immediately became attentive when he heard Larry’s voice.

SHARRA: I’m dealing with something personal right now, Larry.

LARRY: Whatever it is, you don’t sound okay. Do you need me to come over?

Sharra pressed her lips together. She wasn’t sure whether she wanted Larry involved, but she was tired of feeling as though she had to handle everything alone.

SHARRA: I took a pregnancy test.

There was a brief silence on the other end.

LARRY: What did it say?

Sharra’s voice cracked as she answered.

SHARRA: It was positive.

Dre’s eyes widened. He stepped closer, clearly unhappy that Sharra had shared the news with Larry.

LARRY: Are you serious? Have you seen a doctor yet?

SHARRA: Not yet. I’m trying to figure out what to do next.

LARRY: First, get it confirmed by a medical professional. Don’t let anybody pressure you into making decisions before you understand what’s happening.

Sharra glanced at Dre again.

SHARRA: That’s what I’m trying to do.

Dre reached for the phone.

DRE: Larry, this is between me and Sharra. We don’t need everybody getting involved before we know anything for sure.

Larry’s voice became firm.

LARRY: Then you should be helping her find out the truth instead of making her feel like she’s alone in this.

DRE: You don’t know what happened between us.

LARRY: You’re right. I don’t know every detail. But I know she’s upset, and I can hear it in her voice.

Sharra took the phone back before the argument could get worse.

SHARRA: Larry, I’ll call you later.

After ending the call, she placed the phone on the table and faced Dre.

SHARRA: Now you see how this feels? The moment somebody else finds out, you’re worried about what they think. But when I came to you privately, you couldn’t even tell me that you would stand beside me.

DRE: I don’t want this situation spreading around the family.

SHARRA: Then help me handle it responsibly! Come to the appointment with me. Listen to what the doctor says. That’s all I’m asking.

Dre stared at her for a long moment. Finally, he nodded, although his expression remained troubled.

DRE: Fine. I’ll go with you to the doctor. But until we have confirmation, I don’t want you telling everybody that I’m the father.

Sharra’s face fell.

SHARRA: I told you because I believed you were the person I needed to tell. I wasn’t asking you to announce anything to the world.

She picked up the pregnancy test and placed it inside her handbag.

SHARRA: I’ll make the appointment tomorrow. You can come if you want to. But I’m not going to beg you to care about something this important.

She walked toward the bedroom, leaving Dre alone in the living room.

For the first time since Sharra had revealed the test, he looked genuinely frightened. He picked up his phone, opened his contacts, and paused over a name he clearly hadn’t expected to call that night.

Meanwhile, Sharra sat on the edge of the bed and stared at her phone. A new message from Larry appeared.

Call me when you’re alone. There’s something important you need to know before you go to that appointment.

Sharra’s heart began racing. She immediately typed a reply.

SHARRA: What are you talking about? What do you know?

The message showed as delivered, but Larry didn’t answer.

Then she heard Dre’s voice from the living room.

DRE: I need to speak to you right now. There’s something I haven’t told you.

Sharra slowly stood up and opened the bedroom door. Dre was waiting in the hallway, his phone clenched tightly in his hand.

SHARRA: What is it, Dre?

He looked at her, then at the pregnancy test sticking out of her handbag.

DRE: Before we go to that doctor tomorrow, I need you to tell me one thing. Are you absolutely certain there’s nothing about your situation that you haven’t told me?

Sharra stared at him in disbelief.

SHARRA: I already told you everything I know. Why are you asking me that?

Dre swallowed hard, glanced down at his phone, and whispered the words that made her blood run cold.

DRE: Because somebody just called me and said this pregnancy could change everything—and they claim they know something about us that neither of us is ready to hear.
