SCENE 1: AN UNEXPECTED MEETING
The afternoon sun shines over a beautiful garden. A gentle breeze moves through the trees, and birds sing in the quiet surroundings.
Danisha walks through the garden carrying her handbag and checking her phone. Suddenly, Angelina appears near the garden pathway.
Angelina’s expression changes when she sees Danisha. Her eyes narrow. She has been waiting for an opportunity to confront her.
DANISHA
“Angelina? What are you doing here?”
Angelina folds her arms and stares at her.
ANGELINA
“I’ve been waiting to talk to you.”
DANISHA
“About what?”
ANGELINA
“Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about.”
DANISHA
“If you have something to say, just say it. I don’t have time for guessing games.”
Angelina’s jaw tightens. She has come here with one question in mind, and she intends to get an answer.
SCENE 2: THE ACCUSATION
Angelina moves closer to Danisha, refusing to look away.
ANGELINA
“You interfered in Shayla’s life, didn’t you?”
Danisha looks surprised. For a moment, neither woman speaks. The peaceful garden suddenly feels uncomfortable.
DANISHA
“And what makes you think you can question me about Shayla?”
ANGELINA
“Because I know what you’ve been doing! You think you can interfere in her life and walk away as if nothing happened?”
DANISHA
“You should be careful about accusing people when you don’t know the whole story.”
ANGELINA
“Oh, really? Now you’re going to lecture me about the truth?”
DANISHA
“Shayla’s life is not yours to control. And neither is mine.”
ANGELINA
“You have no idea how much trouble you’ve caused!”
DANISHA
“Then take your complaints somewhere else. I’m not interested in arguing with you.”
Danisha turns away. Angelina watches her, her anger growing.
SCENE 3: DANISHA’S SHARP RESPONSE
Danisha begins walking toward the house. Angelina quickly follows her.
ANGELINA
“Don’t you dare walk away while I’m talking to you!”
Danisha stops and slowly turns around. Her expression is no longer patient.
DANISHA
“You don’t get to order me around, Angelina.”
ANGELINA
“Do you even understand what you’ve done to Shayla?”
DANISHA
“Maybe you should ask Shayla what she wants instead of deciding everything for her.”
Angelina freezes. Danisha’s words strike a nerve.
ANGELINA
“How dare you talk to me like that?”
DANISHA
“I’ll speak the way I want when someone accuses me without knowing the truth.”
ANGELINA
“You think you’re so clever, don’t you?”
DANISHA
“I simply know that I don’t have to answer every question you throw at me.”
Danisha turns away again. Angelina’s anger reaches its limit.
SCENE 4: ANGELINA LOSES HER TEMPER
Angelina suddenly grabs Danisha’s arm to stop her from leaving.
DANISHA
“Let go of my arm!”
ANGELINA
“Not until you tell me what you did to Shayla!”
Danisha pulls her arm free.
DANISHA
“I don’t owe you an explanation!”
ANGELINA
“You’ve crossed every limit!”
DANISHA
“And you’ve crossed yours by putting your hands on me!”
Angelina suddenly strikes Danisha. Danisha stumbles backward in shock and raises her hands to protect herself.
DANISHA
“Angelina! Have you completely lost your mind?”
ANGELINA
“You should have stayed out of Shayla’s life!”
Angelina attacks again. Danisha tries to defend herself and move away from the confrontation.
DANISHA
“Stop it! You can’t solve anything by attacking me!”
ANGELINA
“You should have thought about that before interfering!”
Danisha finally creates some distance between them. She is shocked that Angelina has become physically violent.
SCENE 5: THE CONFRONTATION ESCALATES
Danisha steps backward, trying to keep Angelina away. Her handbag slips from her shoulder and falls onto the pathway.
DANISHA
“Listen to yourself! You’re acting like you own Shayla’s life!”
ANGELINA
“Don’t bring my relationship with Shayla into this!”
DANISHA
“You brought Shayla into this the moment you started accusing me!”
Angelina moves forward again. Danisha raises her hand, warning her to stay back.
DANISHA
“Don’t come any closer!”
Angelina ignores the warning. Danisha blocks her attempt and manages to move away.
ANGELINA
“You’re going to regret interfering in this family!”
DANISHA
“Is that a threat?”
DANISHA
“You can be angry with me all you want, but you have no right to hit me.”
ANGELINA
“You don’t understand what Shayla has been through!”
DANISHA
“Then help her. Listen to her. Support her. Don’t use her situation as an excuse to attack someone.”
Angelina struggles to respond. For the first time, Danisha’s words challenge her anger.
SCENE 6: A MOMENT OF SILENCE
The confrontation pauses. Danisha stands several feet away, keeping her distance. She picks up her handbag.
Angelina watches in silence. Her anger remains, but uncertainty begins to creep into her expression.
DANISHA
“Look at what you’ve done.”
ANGELINA
“You brought this on yourself.”
DANISHA
“No, Angelina. You chose to do this.”
Danisha takes a steady breath before continuing.
DANISHA
“You came here wanting answers. I was willing to talk to you. But the moment you didn’t like what I said, you decided to use violence.”
ANGELINA
“You don’t know anything about my situation.”
DANISHA
“Maybe I don’t know everything. But hurting me won’t fix whatever is happening between you and Shayla.”
The distant sound of a car passing outside breaks the silence.
DANISHA
“If you truly care about Shayla, stop turning every disagreement into a fight.”
Angelina listens but doesn’t interrupt.
SCENE 7: DANISHA REFUSES TO BACK DOWN
Danisha begins walking toward the entrance. Angelina watches her leave.
ANGELINA
“This conversation isn’t over!”
DANISHA
“For you, maybe not. But I’m not going to stand here and let you attack me again.”
DANISHA
“If you want to discuss Shayla, learn to speak without threatening people.”
ANGELINA
“You think you’ve won?”
DANISHA
“This isn’t a competition. Shayla isn’t a prize, and neither of us should be fighting over the right to control her.”
Angelina has little to say. Danisha looks at her one final time.
DANISHA
“You can believe whatever you want about me. But one day, you’ll have to face the truth about your own actions.”
Danisha walks away. Angelina doesn’t follow her. She remains in the garden, wondering whether her own actions are making the situation with Shayla worse.
SCENE 8: ANGELINA IS LEFT ALONE
The garden slowly returns to silence. Angelina walks toward a nearby bench and sits down.
She remembers the accusations, Danisha’s sharp responses, and the moment her anger took control.
ANGELINA
“Why does everyone keep making this so difficult?”
She leans back against the bench, staring at the sky. She still believes Danisha has interfered in Shayla’s life. She still wants answers.
Angelina takes out her phone and opens Shayla’s contact. Her thumb hovers over the call button.
She wants to demand an explanation, but hesitates. For the first time, she wonders whether she should listen before making another accusation.
After several seconds, she locks her phone and places it beside her.
ANGELINA
“This isn’t over, Danisha.”
She stands, straightens her clothes, and walks toward the house. The conflict has paused, but the questions surrounding Shayla remain unanswered.
Whatever happens next could change their relationships forever.
