DEV AND OMNI ARE LEFT ALONE
The house was unusually quiet.
Amber and Danielle had stepped outside to discuss something important, leaving Dev and Omni alone in the living room.
Dev was sitting on the sofa with several business documents spread across the table. Omni stood nearby, holding a folder and watching him carefully.
Although they were supposed to discuss an important business project, Omni seemed more interested in Dev than in the documents.
DEV:
“Omni, have you finished reviewing the project documents? We need to finalize everything before the end of the week.”
OMNI:
“Yes, Dev. I’ve reviewed everything, and the project is ready. But there’s something else I want to discuss with you.”
Dev looked up from the documents.
DEV:
“What is it? Is there a problem with the project?”
Omni placed the folder on the table and slowly moved closer.
OMNI:
“No, Dev. It’s something personal. Something I’ve wanted to talk about for a long time.”
Dev immediately understood where the conversation was heading.
DEV:
“Omni, please. Not again. We’ve already discussed this. I’m with Amber, and I don’t want anything to happen that could destroy my relationship.”
Omni smiled slightly, but there was disappointment in her eyes.
OMNI:
“You always bring up Amber whenever I try to tell you how I feel. Have you ever stopped to think about what I want?”
DEV:
“Your feelings aren’t the issue. The issue is that I’m in a committed relationship. You’re my assistant, and I expect us to maintain professional boundaries.”
OMNI:
“Professional boundaries? Dev, we spend almost every day together. I’m the person who handles your problems, supports your decisions, and stands beside you when things get difficult.”
Dev sighed and looked away.
DEV:
“That doesn’t change anything between us.”
Omni stepped closer.
OMNI:
“Are you sure? Because sometimes I feel like you’re only pretending that you don’t have feelings for me.”
Dev stood up.
DEV:
“Listen to me carefully. I love Amber. I don’t want to lose her, and I don’t want to have this conversation again.”
Omni looked down, pretending to accept his answer.
But deep inside, she had no intention of giving up.
OMNI MAKES HER MOVE
For a few moments, neither of them spoke.
Omni slowly reached for Dev’s hand.
He immediately tried to pull away.
DEV:
“Omni, what are you doing?”
OMNI:
“Just listen to me. I’m not asking you to make any promises. I only want you to be honest about what you feel.”
DEV:
“This isn’t right. Amber could come back at any moment.”
OMNI:
“Then why are you still standing here talking to me?”
Dev didn’t answer.
Omni moved closer, her voice becoming softer.
OMNI:
“Do you remember how many times I’ve stayed late at the office just to help you? How many times I’ve defended you when everyone else questioned your decisions?”
DEV:
“I appreciate everything you’ve done for me, Omni.”
OMNI:
“Then why do I always have to stand behind Amber? Why can’t you see that I could make you happy too?”
Dev looked at her, struggling with his emotions.
DEV:
“I don’t want to hurt anyone.”
OMNI:
“Sometimes people don’t realize what they want until they’re about to lose it.”
She gently placed her arms around him.
Dev hesitated.
For a moment, he seemed ready to step away and end the conversation. But instead, he allowed himself to get carried away.
Omni leaned closer, and the two shared an intimate romantic moment.
The business documents remained untouched on the table.
Neither of them noticed the sound of a car approaching outside.
Neither of them realized that Amber was about to walk back into the house.
DANIELLE WARNS AMBER
Meanwhile, outside the house, Amber and Danielle were still talking.
Danielle had noticed something unusual about Dev and Omni’s relationship for quite some time. Although she didn’t have proof of anything, she couldn’t ignore her concerns.
DANIELLE:
“Amber, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you. Are you completely sure that everything is okay between you and Omni?”
AMBER:
“What do you mean? Omni works for Dev. She’s his personal assistant. What’s wrong with that?”
DANIELLE:
“I’m not saying they’re definitely doing something behind your back. But they spend so much time together, and sometimes I think you trust people too easily.”
Amber shook her head.
AMBER:
“Danielle, Dev loves me. We’ve been through so much together. I don’t believe he would ever betray me.”
DANIELLE:
“I hope you’re right. I really do. But you should never ignore something just because you’re afraid of what the truth might be.”
Amber became quiet.
She remembered several occasions when Dev had received calls from Omni late at night. Whenever she asked questions, he always had a business-related explanation.
At the time, she never thought anything of it.
But Danielle’s words were now making her reconsider everything.
AMBER:
“Are you trying to tell me that something is happening between them?”
DANIELLE:
“I’m telling you to keep your eyes open. Sometimes the biggest betrayal comes from the people you trust the most.”
Amber looked toward the house.
AMBER:
“I don’t want to believe that about Dev.”
DANIELLE:
“Then I hope he gives you no reason to.”
THE MOMENT EVERYTHING CHANGES
A few minutes later, Danielle suggested that they return inside.
Amber picked up her belongings, and the two women walked toward the entrance.
Amber was still thinking about their conversation.
She wanted to believe Danielle was wrong, but something inside her was telling her that she needed to pay attention.
As they entered the house, Danielle suddenly stopped.
She noticed something happening inside the living room.
DANIELLE:
“Amber, wait!”
AMBER:
“What happened?”
Danielle pointed toward the living room.
DANIELLE:
“Just look over there.”
Amber slowly turned her head.
And then she saw them.
Dev and Omni were standing extremely close to each other. Omni had her arms around Dev, and they were sharing an intimate romantic moment.
Amber couldn’t move.
Her handbag almost slipped from her hand.
For several seconds, she simply stared at the two people who had betrayed her trust.
AMBER:
“DEV!”
Her voice echoed throughout the house.
Dev immediately stepped away from Omni.
His expression changed completely when he saw Amber standing at the entrance.
DEV:
“Amber! Wait! This isn’t what you think!”
Omni quickly stepped backward.
She looked uncomfortable, but she didn’t seem nearly as frightened as Dev.
AMBER:
“What did I just see? Tell me, Dev! What exactly was happening here?”
DEV:
“Please calm down. Let me explain everything.”
AMBER:
“Calm down? You expect me to calm down after finding you with another woman?”
Dev took a step toward her.
Amber immediately raised her hand.
AMBER:
“Don’t come near me!”
Danielle stood beside Amber, watching Dev and Omni in disbelief.
AMBER CONFRONTS OMNI
Amber turned toward Omni.
Her eyes were filled with anger and disappointment.
AMBER:
“And you! I trusted you too. You came into my home, smiled at me, and acted like everything was perfectly normal. How could you do this to me?”
OMNI:
“Amber, please. You need to understand that things aren’t as simple as they look.”
AMBER:
“Not as simple as they look? I just caught you with my boyfriend! What else am I supposed to understand?”
OMNI:
“I never wanted things to happen this way.”
AMBER:
“Then why did you let them happen?”
Omni looked toward Dev.
For a moment, she remained silent.
AMBER:
“Look at me when I’m talking to you! You knew Dev was in a relationship with me. You knew how much I loved him. And you still decided to cross that line!”
OMNI:
“Maybe you should ask yourself why Dev allowed it to happen.”
Amber turned toward Dev.
AMBER:
“She’s right about one thing. You allowed this to happen. Nobody forced you to betray me!”
Dev rubbed his forehead.
He looked desperate to find the right words.
DEV:
“Amber, I made a terrible mistake. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I swear this will never happen again.”
AMBER:
“How many times have you told yourself that? And how long have you been lying to my face?”
DEV:
“This was the first time things went this far.”
Omni suddenly looked at him.
Her expression changed.
OMNI:
“The first time?”
Dev immediately turned toward her.
DEV:
“Omni, stop talking.”
Amber noticed their reactions.
She slowly looked between them.
AMBER:
“What does that mean? Why did you say that?”
OMNI:
“Nothing, Amber. Dev is just upset.”
AMBER:
“No! I want an answer. What are you two hiding from me?”
DANIELLE REFUSES TO STAY SILENT
Danielle finally stepped forward.
She had remained quiet long enough, but now she couldn’t watch Amber being given excuses.
DANIELLE:
“Dev, I think you owe Amber the truth. She deserves much better than this.”
DEV:
“Danielle, this has nothing to do with you. Please stay out of it.”
DANIELLE:
“It became my business the moment you decided to betray someone who trusts you.”
DEV:
“I know I made a mistake. I don’t need everyone reminding me.”
AMBER:
“You should have thought about that before you got involved with Omni!”
Amber wiped the tears from her cheeks.
AMBER:
“I defended you whenever anyone questioned our relationship. I believed in you even when things were difficult. And this is how you repay me?”
Dev lowered his head.
DEV:
“I love you, Amber. Please don’t throw away everything we’ve built together because of one mistake.”
Amber let out a painful laugh.
AMBER:
“One mistake? You think betrayal is just one mistake? You stood here with another woman while I was outside believing that I was lucky to have you.”
DEV:
“Please give me another chance.”
AMBER:
“I don’t even know who you are anymore.”
She turned away from him.
But before she could leave the living room, Omni spoke again.
OMNI REVEALS SOMETHING UNEXPECTED
OMNI:
“Amber, wait. Before you decide that I’m the only person responsible for this, maybe you should hear the truth about what has been happening at the office.”
Amber slowly turned around.
AMBER:
“What truth?”
Dev’s face suddenly became serious.
DEV:
“Omni, don’t.”
OMNI:
“You have no idea how many things Dev has kept from you. This isn’t just about what happened today.”
AMBER:
“What are you talking about? What has he been hiding?”
DEV:
“Amber, please. Don’t listen to her. She’s trying to make this situation worse.”
OMNI:
“Am I? Then why don’t you tell her about the private meetings? Why don’t you tell her why you asked me to keep certain business documents away from her?”
Amber’s expression changed.
AMBER:
“Business documents? Dev, what is she talking about?”
Dev moved toward Omni.
DEV:
“That’s enough! You have no right to bring those things into this.”
