Brooke Is Forced Out of the House

BROOKE IS FORCED OUT OF THE HOUSE

SCENE 1 — LARRY’S HOUSE — EVENING

The front door opens slowly.

Brooke steps inside, exhausted and frustrated. She drops her bag near the doorway and looks around the house.

Larry is sitting in the living room. His expression immediately becomes serious when he sees her.

Brooke walks toward him, her emotions already boiling over.

Brooke

You never treat me or my mom right.

Larry looks at her in disbelief.

Brooke

You always act like everything is our fault. You don’t even care how you make us feel.

Larry slowly stands. His patience is running thin.

Larry

Brooke, watch how you’re talking to me.

Brooke

Why? Because I’m telling the truth?

The room becomes silent.

Larry takes a deep breath, trying to control his anger.

Larry

I’m not going to put my hands on you. You’re a woman, and I’m not going to cross that line.

Brooke looks away, still angry.

Larry points toward her phone.

Larry

Honestly, we should have taken that phone away from you a long time ago.

Brooke

You can’t be serious.

Larry

I am serious.

Larry’s voice becomes louder.

Larry

And the person who kept giving you your freedom was your own mother.

Brooke’s expression changes.

Larry

Everything that happened started because she kept giving you too much freedom.

Brooke

Don’t blame Mom for everything.

Larry turns toward Sharra. His anger reaches its breaking point.

SCENE 2 — LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS

Sharra has been quietly listening from across the room.

Larry looks directly at her.

Larry

Sharra, take her out of this house.

Sharra freezes.

Sharra

Larry…

Larry

No.

He gestures toward the front door.

Larry

Get her out before this gets any worse.

Brooke

You’re really kicking me out?

Larry’s expression remains firm.

Larry

If that’s what it takes to stop all this arguing, then yes.

Brooke’s eyes fill with tears.

Larry

You’re not going to come into this house and disrespect me anymore.

Brooke grabs her bag.

Brooke

Fine.

She turns toward the door.

Larry watches her without saying another word.

Before Brooke leaves, she turns around one last time.

Brooke

Maybe one day you’ll realize how much you’ve hurt me.

Larry doesn’t respond.

Brooke walks out. The door closes behind her.

Sharra looks at Larry with concern.

Larry remains standing there, breathing heavily.

SCENE 3 — OUTSIDE THE HOUSE — NIGHT

Brooke walks down the driveway with her bag over her shoulder.

She looks back at the house.

For a moment, she hopes someone will call her back.

Nobody does.

Brooke lowers her head and keeps walking.

Her phone vibrates. She quickly checks it.

No message.

She opens her contacts and calls one of her friends.

The phone rings.

No answer.

She tries another friend.

Still nothing.

Brooke

Come on… somebody answer.

The call goes to voicemail.

She hangs up.

Her eyes begin to fill with tears.

SCENE 4 — TWO DAYS LATER — NIGHT

Brooke has been sleeping wherever she can.

Her clothes are wrinkled. Her face looks exhausted.

She sits alone outside a closed business, holding her phone tightly.

She scrolls through her contacts.

One name after another.

She calls.

No answer.

She calls again.

Nothing.

Brooke

Please call me back.

She pauses. Her voice cracks.

Brooke

I just need somewhere to go.

She ends the call.

A few seconds pass. She immediately calls another friend.

Again, nobody answers.

Brooke stares at the phone.

Her breathing becomes heavier.

SCENE 5 — THIRD DAY — MORNING

The sun rises over the city.

Brooke is sitting on a bench with her bag beside her.

She hasn’t slept properly.

Her hair is messy, and her eyes are swollen from crying.

Her phone rests in her hand.

She checks it again.

No missed calls. No messages. Nothing.

Brooke

Please… please answer.

The call rings and rings, then goes to voicemail.

Brooke slowly lowers the phone.

Brooke

Why is nobody answering me?

She looks around.

People pass by without noticing her.

For the first time, Brooke realizes how alone she really is.

SCENE 6 — QUIET STREET — AFTERNOON

Brooke walks aimlessly down the sidewalk.

Her thoughts are racing.

Fragments of Larry’s words keep replaying in her mind.

“You’re not needed here anymore.”

“Don’t come back.”

Brooke covers her ears.

Brooke

Stop…

She keeps walking.

Her phone rings.

Brooke immediately grabs it.

But it’s only a notification.

Her face falls.

She tries calling her mother.

The call rings.

Brooke waits.

No answer.

She tries again.

Still nothing.

Brooke

Mom… please.

She sits down on the curb.

Tears stream down her face.

SCENE 7 — NIGHT — EMPTY PARKING LOT

Brooke sits alone beneath a streetlight.

Her bag is beside her. She looks completely defeated.

She calls another friend.

No answer.

Another number.

No answer.

She throws the phone onto the ground in frustration.

Brooke

Nobody cares!

Her voice echoes through the empty parking lot.

She immediately regrets shouting.

Brooke picks up her phone.

Her hands are trembling.

Brooke

What am I supposed to do now?

She begins crying again.

The loneliness is becoming unbearable.

SCENE 8 — BROOKE’S BREAKING POINT

Brooke leans against the wall and closes her eyes.

She hasn’t eaten properly. She hasn’t slept. She hasn’t heard from anyone.

Her mind feels overwhelmed.

Brooke

I just wanted somebody to answer.

She wipes her tears.

Brooke

I didn’t think everyone would leave me.

She looks at her phone one more time.

Still nothing.

Brooke slowly slides down the wall until she is sitting on the ground.

The camera pulls back.

She is surrounded by a huge city, yet she looks completely alone.

SCENE 9 — LATE NIGHT

Brooke’s phone lights up.

She immediately looks at it.

For one hopeful second, she thinks someone finally called.

But it’s only another notification.

Her expression collapses.

She holds the phone against her chest.

Brooke

I don’t know what to do anymore.

She looks toward the empty road.

A car passes in the distance.

Brooke remains alone.

The streetlight flickers above her.

SCENE 10 — ENDING

Brooke slowly stands.

She picks up her bag and begins walking again.

Her steps are slow and uncertain.

She doesn’t know where she’s going.

She doesn’t know who will help her.

And she doesn’t know whether anyone is coming back for her.

The camera stays behind as Brooke disappears farther down the road.

Her phone remains in her hand.

The screen is silent.

FADE OUT.
