SCENE 1 — LARRY’S HOUSE — KITCHEN — MORNING
The house is unusually quiet.
Brooke stands near the kitchen counter, staring at her phone. A nervous smile slowly appears on her face.
Bethany walks in and notices her expression.
BETHANY
Why are you smiling like that?
Brooke quickly puts her phone down.
BROOKE
I have something to tell you.
Bethany watches her carefully.
BETHANY
What is it?
Brooke takes a breath.
BROOKE
I’m pregnant.
The words hang in the air.
Bethany’s expression freezes.
BETHANY
Pregnant?
Brooke nods, emotional but happy.
BROOKE
Yes. I just found out.
Bethany forces a smile.
BETHANY
Wow… congratulations.
But her eyes reveal something completely different.
Brooke hugs her.
Bethany barely responds.
As Brooke walks away, Bethany remains standing alone.

SCENE 2 — BETHANY’S BEDROOM — AFTERNOON
Bethany closes the bedroom door.
She sits on the edge of the bed, replaying Brooke’s announcement in her mind.
She looks worried.
Then angry.
BETHANY
This changes everything.
Her phone rings.
It is Larry.
BETHANY
Where are you?
LARRY
Where are you?
BETHANY
In my room.
LARRY
Brooke told me the news.
Bethany stays silent.
LARRY
You heard me, right?
BETHANY
Yes.
LARRY
She needs support right now.
Bethany looks down.
BETHANY
I understand.
LARRY
Then make sure she knows this family is behind her.
The call ends.
Bethany stares at the phone.
Her jealousy and frustration grow.
SCENE 3 — KITCHEN — EVENING
Brooke prepares a drink at the counter.
Bethany enters.
BROOKE
Larry said he’s really happy for me.
Bethany forces another smile.
BETHANY
That’s good.
Brooke sits down.
BROOKE
I know things have been complicated between us, but I hope you can be happy for me too.
Bethany looks at her.

Brooke leaves the room.

Then, in a moment of terrible judgment, Bethany secretly tampers with Brooke’s drink.
The camera stays on Bethany’s face rather than showing what she does.
Her hands tremble.
She immediately regrets the decision.
BETHANY
What am I doing?
She steps back.
Brooke suddenly returns.
Bethany quickly composes herself.
BROOKE
Have you seen my phone?
BETHANY
No.
Brooke picks up her drink.
Bethany watches anxiously.
BETHANY
Maybe you should just go upstairs and rest.
Brooke smiles.
BROOKE
You’re acting strange.
BETHANY
I’m tired.
Brooke walks away.
Bethany watches her disappear down the hallway.
Her face fills with fear.
SCENE 5 — BROOKE’S BEDROOM — NIGHT
Brooke sits on the edge of her bed.
She suddenly looks uncomfortable.

She places a hand against her stomach.

She tries to stand.
Her breathing becomes unsteady.
She reaches for her phone.
Across the hallway, Bethany hears a noise.
She freezes.
BROOKE
Bethany!
Bethany rushes toward the bedroom.
Brooke is frightened.
BROOKE
I don’t feel well.
Bethany stares at her.
The reality of what she has done hits her.
BETHANY
Brooke, sit down.
BROOKE
Something is wrong.
Bethany immediately grabs her phone.
BETHANY
I’m calling Larry.
Brooke looks terrified.

Larry runs into the room after hearing Bethany’s call.
LARRY
What happened?
Bethany points toward Brooke.
BETHANY
She suddenly started feeling sick.
Larry kneels beside Brooke.
LARRY
Brooke, look at me. We’re getting you medical help.
Brooke nods weakly.
BROOKE
My baby…
Larry looks deeply concerned.
LARRY
Don’t worry about anything right now. We’re going to the hospital.
Bethany stands behind them.
She cannot speak.
LARRY
Bethany, call for help.
Bethany quickly grabs her phone.
Her hands shake.
SCENE 7 — HOSPITAL — WAITING AREA — NIGHT
Bethany sits alone.
Larry waits nearby.
A doctor comes through the doors.
DOCTOR
Larry?
Larry immediately stands.
LARRY

The doctor speaks carefully.
DOCTOR
Brooke is receiving medical attention. There was a serious pregnancy complication, and we’re doing everything we can.
Larry looks devastated.
LARRY

The doctor pauses.

I’m sorry. The pregnancy could not be saved.
Larry closes his eyes.
Bethany hears every word.

Bethany looks at him.

Brooke wakes up.
Larry enters quietly.
BROOKE
Where’s Bethany?
Larry hesitates.
LARRY
She’s outside.
Brooke looks confused.
BROOKE
I don’t understand what happened.
Larry sits beside her.

Right now, your recovery is the most important thing.
Brooke looks down.
BROOKE
I feel like everyone is hiding something from me.
Larry remains silent.

Bethany finally approaches Larry.
