THE BIG MOVE
A crisp Montana morning. Boxes stacked. The moving truck hums outside.
JADEN: We leave today. No turning back.
His partner hugs their child, worry shadowing their eyes.
PARTNER: Atlanta is far… are you really sure about Larry?
JADEN: It’s our only way. A fresh start is waiting.
ARRIVAL IN ATLANTA
The truck arrives at Larry’s house. The city noise feels overwhelming.
LARRY: Jaden… you actually came.
JADEN: Yeah… and I brought my family.
Larry freezes as kids jump out of the truck, boxes trailing behind.
LARRY: All of them? You didn’t say this many.
JADEN: I didn’t have a choice.
CHAOS INSIDE
Inside, laughter and chaos. Kids scatter. Larry leans against the wall, overwhelmed.
LARRY: This better not turn into a nightmare.
JADEN: I just need a moment to settle in.
BETHANY FINDS OUT
Bethany scrolls on her phone. Her eyes widen at a photo of Jaden with his family in front of Larry’s house.
BETHANY (V.O.): No… he didn’t. He moved in… without telling me?
Her fingers tremble as she grabs her keys and storms out.
THE CONFRONTATION
Bethany bursts through the front door. Silence falls. Jaden steps forward cautiously.
BETHANY: So it’s true.
JADEN: Yeah… I’m here.
BETHANY: You just show up and turn everything upside down?
JADEN: I had nowhere else to go.
BETHANY: That’s not my problem!
Her voice shakes with anger. Jaden lowers his eyes.
BETHANY: You always bring chaos with you.
LINES ARE DRAWN
Larry steps in, tension thick in the air.
LARRY: Enough! Calm down, both of you.
BETHANY: No… you made your choice. Don’t expect me to accept this.
She glares, then turns and slams the door. Silence fills the room.
LARRY: You brought a storm into my house.
JADEN: I was just trying to fix my life…
