Larry’s Urgent Call”

INT. LARRY’S APARTMENT – NIGHT

Dim city lights flicker through the window.
LARRY stands rigid, phone in hand, jaw tight, eyes burning with anxiety.

He hesitates—then dials.

The phone rings.
Once.
Twice.
Three times—

SHARRA (V.O.)
Hello?

LARRY
Sharra… it’s me.
(voice trembling)
I need your help. It’s Destiny. She’s in danger… and I can’t bring her back alone.

A beat of silence. Heavy. Suffocating.

SHARRA (V.O.)
Chicago?
(cautious)
Larry… what’s happening? Why me?

LARRY
(exhales sharply)
Because you’re the only one I trust.
We leave tomorrow.
We bring Destiny back.

The silence stretches—tight as wire.

Larry’s stomach knots.

SHARRA (V.O.)
(uncertain, shaking)
Larry… this isn’t simple.
Chicago is dangerous. This isn’t just a trip. Why involve me?

LARRY
(running hands through hair)
Because I can’t do this alone.
I need your judgment. Your presence.
Without you, I can’t guarantee anything.
Please… for her sake. For all of us.

SHARRA (V.O.)
(exasperated, torn)
You always make everything life or death.
I don’t even know if I can say yes.

LARRY
(voice tightening)
This is life or death.
Destiny doesn’t have time.
Every hour we wait, we lose ground.
I know it’s risky—but we act now.
Please… just say you’ll come.

A long, shaky breath from the other end.

SHARRA (V.O.)
…Fine. I’ll go.
But Larry—one mistake, and it’s over.

Relief hits Larry like a wave—followed by new weight.

LARRY
(low, determined)
I promise.
We leave first thing tomorrow.
I’ve planned everything—routes, backups, escape paths.
No surprises. Just be with me.

SHARRA (V.O.)
I’ll hold you to that.

The call ends.

INT. LARRY’S APARTMENT – CONTINUOUS

Larry stares at the silent phone, chest rising and falling sharply.

Chicago looms in his mind—dark, chaotic, unpredictable.

Maps and notes are scattered across the table.
Every line is a fragile lifeline.

Larry moves with restless energy—checking routes, revising plans, pacing like a man carrying the world on his shoulders.

Hours crawl by.

He can’t sleep.
Destiny’s small, frightened face haunts him.

Outside, the city rests—unaware of the storm inside his mind.

He stops, imagining Sharra: reluctant but resolute.
Her presence matters—more than she knows.

A sudden buzz.

Larry grabs his phone—hands trembling.

TEXT FROM SHARRA:
“I’ll go. But Larry… we can’t afford mistakes.
Tomorrow. Chicago.
Don’t let me down.”

Larry exhales—a slow, heavy release.

Agreement was the first step.
Execution is the war.

He looks out the window at the sleeping city.
Chicago waits—vast, dangerous, full of shadows.

It could save them.
Or destroy them.

Larry sinks into his chair, tension written all over him.

The clock ticks—each second a reminder of the mission ahead.

His mind swirls with possibilities, risks, betrayals, wrong turns.

Tomorrow holds everything.

And Chicago will test them.
