SCENE 1: WAYNE’S LIVING ROOM — AN UNEXPECTED SURPRISE
The evening is peaceful, and Wayne is sitting comfortably in his living room with Mike. A laptop rests on the coffee table, and Wayne occasionally glances at his phone while discussing his work. Mike sits beside him, enjoying their conversation.
Wayne looks relaxed. For once, he seems to have put his business worries aside and is enjoying a quiet moment.
Suddenly, the front door opens. YaYa walks inside with a bright smile. The moment she spots Wayne, her face lights up. Without wasting a second, she approaches him and playfully sits on his lap.
“Well, look at that! Somebody knows exactly where she wants to sit.”
Wayne laughs softly, placing an arm around YaYa’s waist.
“That’s because she knows she’s always welcome here.”
YaYa smiles and leans closer to him. For a few moments, the three of them exchange jokes. But then Wayne turns toward YaYa.
“Listen, there’s something I want you to understand. I don’t want you worrying about money anymore.”
“What do you mean? Why are you suddenly talking about money?”
Wayne reaches into his wallet and pulls out his American Express card. He holds it between his fingers before placing it gently in YaYa’s hand.
“Wayne! Is this what I think it is?”
“Yes, baby. It’s my American Express card. I want you to have it.”
YaYa stares at the card, clearly delighted. She turns it over in her hand, almost as if she cannot believe what she is seeing.
“I don’t ever want you to feel like you have to struggle financially. If you need something, buy it. If you want something, get it. Don’t sit there worrying about whether you can afford it.”
“Spend whatever you want. Whatever I have is yours, too. I want you to enjoy life, and I want you to know that you can depend on me.”
For a moment, YaYa appears genuinely touched by his words. She wraps her arms around his neck and kisses his cheek.
“Wayne, you really do have such a big heart. You have no idea how much it means to me that you trust me like this.”
“Of course I trust you. That’s what a relationship is about. You take care of me, and I take care of you.”
“Man, you’re giving her the keys to the kingdom!”
“What’s the point of having money if you can’t enjoy it with somebody you care about?”
YaYa looks down at the card again. Her smile grows wider, and she hugs Wayne even tighter.
“You won’t regret this, baby. I promise.”
SCENE 2: THE LIVING ROOM — YAYA MAKES HER PLANS
A little later, Wayne returns his attention to his laptop. He has several business matters to handle and a few important payments to arrange before the end of the day.
YaYa remains beside him, examining her American Express card with excitement. She scrolls through her phone, looking at clothing stores, jewelry collections, designer handbags, and luxury shopping destinations.
“Baby, I think I’m going to do a little shopping today.”
Wayne barely looks away from his screen.
“Go ahead. Have fun.”
“Are you sure? I might be out for a while.”
“YaYa, I just gave you the card. You don’t have to ask me every time you want to buy something.”
She leans over and kisses his cheek.
“You’re the best. I’ll see you later!”
YaYa stands up, grabs her handbag, and heads toward the door. Before leaving, she turns around and gives Wayne one last playful smile.
“And don’t worry about me. I’m going to enjoy myself today!”
“That’s exactly what I want you to do.”
YaYa walks out, closing the door behind her. Wayne returns to his work without giving the situation another thought.
Outside, YaYa gets into her car and places the American Express card inside her handbag.
“Well, Wayne said everything he has is mine. I’m going to make sure I enjoy it!”
She starts the engine and drives away with a smile.
SCENE 3: THE LUXURY SHOPPING DISTRICT — THE SPENDING BEGINS
YaYa arrives at an upscale shopping district filled with designer boutiques and expensive stores. The windows display luxury handbags, sparkling jewelry, elegant dresses, and shoes that cost more than many people’s monthly salaries.
She steps out of her car and looks around excitedly. For YaYa, this is an opportunity she doesn’t intend to waste.
She enters the first boutique and is immediately drawn to a designer handbag displayed near the entrance. A sales associate approaches her with a welcoming smile.
“Good afternoon! Is there anything special you’re looking for today?”
“I want to see that handbag. Actually, could you show me a few of your most expensive designs?”
The associate looks pleased and guides her toward the luxury collection. YaYa examines several handbags before selecting two. She then adds a pair of designer shoes and a matching accessory.
When the associate presents the total, YaYa doesn’t hesitate. She takes out Wayne’s American Express card.
“Put everything on this card, please.”
The payment is approved. YaYa smiles as the associate packages her purchases into several shopping bags.
But she isn’t finished.
At the next store, she purchases expensive clothing. At another, she explores jewelry and selects a beautiful bracelet. Each time she reaches the counter, she uses Wayne’s card.
“This is wonderful! I should have gone shopping with him sooner!”
She walks from one store to another, collecting bags and making purchases without carefully considering the growing total.
By midday, her car is filled with shopping bags. Yet YaYa still feels that there are more things she wants.
She visits another luxury boutique, where she finds a stunning piece of jewelry that immediately captures her attention.
She looks at the price. For a moment, she hesitates. Then she remembers Wayne’s words.
YaYa smiles and hands over the card.
“I’ll take it.”
Another payment is processed.
Meanwhile, back at Wayne’s home, everything appears perfectly normal. Wayne continues working, answering calls, reviewing documents, and preparing for his upcoming business obligations.
He has no reason to suspect that the card he handed YaYa so confidently is being used for purchase after purchase.
SCENE 4: WAYNE’S HOME OFFICE — AN IMPORTANT CALL
Several hours later, Wayne sits at his desk, concentrating on an important business document. His phone suddenly rings.
He glances at the screen and sees that the call is coming from his office. He answers immediately.
“Hey, what’s going on?”
“Wayne, I’m calling about the payment we discussed earlier. We need you to transfer the funds as soon as possible so we can finalize everything today.”
“Okay. No problem. I’ll take care of it right now.”
“Thank you. Please let us know once the transfer is completed.”
“You’ll have confirmation shortly.”
Wayne ends the call and pulls his laptop closer. He opens his banking account, expecting to see the familiar numbers he has worked hard to build over the years.
His fingers move quickly across the keyboard as he logs in. At first, he barely pays attention to the screen.
Then he sees the balance.
“Wait a minute. What is this?”
He rubs his eyes and looks at the screen once more. The number displayed is not what he expected.
Wayne refreshes the page. The account loads again.
Wayne sits completely still. For several seconds, he doesn’t say anything. He simply stares at the laptop, hoping that the number will somehow change.
“No. No, that can’t be right.”
He refreshes the page again. Nothing changes.
His breathing becomes heavier as he begins checking the account activity. He scrolls down the list.
Transaction after transaction appears before him. Luxury shopping. Designer accessories. Expensive jewelry. More shopping. And more shopping.
“Oh, my God! What the hell happened to my money?”
He quickly opens another section of the account, hoping there might be a mistake or a temporary issue with the displayed balance.
But the transactions are there. The spending is real.
Wayne runs a hand through his hair and leans back in his chair. He cannot believe what he is seeing.
SCENE 5: WAYNE REALIZES WHAT HAS HAPPENED
Wayne begins reviewing the transactions one by one. His face grows increasingly tense.
He remembers YaYa sitting on his lap earlier that day, smiling as he handed her the card. He remembers telling her that she would never have to worry about money.
He remembers her promising that he wouldn’t regret his decision.
At the time, those words had made him happy. Now, they replay in his mind with an entirely different meaning.
Wayne closes his eyes and presses his fingers against his forehead.
“I gave her my card because I wanted her to feel comfortable. I wanted her to know that she could trust me.”
He opens his eyes and looks at the screen again.
“But how could she spend this much money in just one day?”
He picks up his phone and checks the time. YaYa has been gone for hours.
He considers calling her immediately, but he is so shocked that he doesn’t even know what to say.
“How am I supposed to make my business payment when my account is showing zero?”
He pushes his chair away from the desk and stands up. For a moment, he walks around the room, trying to calm himself down.
Then he returns to the laptop and sits again. He places both hands on his head.
The realization finally hits him. He had been so eager to prove his love and generosity that he never considered setting limits or explaining what he expected from YaYa.
He assumed she would understand that his offer came with trust and responsibility.
But the transactions suggest that she may have understood his words very differently.
“I never thought she would take advantage of me like this.”
His phone remains in his hand. He opens YaYa’s contact, staring at her name. His thumb hovers over the call button.
He wants answers. He wants to know whether she realizes what she has done.
Most of all, he wants to understand how a gesture meant to bring them closer together has turned into a financial nightmare.
He finally starts typing a message, but stops before sending it. He doesn’t want to confront her while he is this angry.
Instead, he places the phone on the desk and takes a deep breath.
The room is quiet except for the faint sound of his laptop.
Wayne looks at the zero balance one last time. His expression is filled with disappointment, confusion, and regret.
He had imagined YaYa enjoying a few special purchases, returning home happy, and thanking him for his generosity.
He had never imagined sitting alone in his office, watching his money disappear while an important business payment remained unfinished.
“YaYa, what have you done?”
He lowers his head and holds it between his hands.
For the first time that day, Wayne begins to question whether he truly understands the woman he has been trying so hard to make happy.
And somewhere across town, YaYa is still enjoying her shopping trip, unaware of the shock waiting for her when Wayne finally confronts her.
