The Day Everything Changed

Shayla sat quietly in her living room, staring at the photograph of Kai resting on the table. Her eyes filled with tears as she remembered the last time she had held her baby close to her heart.

For Shayla, Kai was not just a child. He was the most precious part of her life, and the thought of living without him was unbearable.

She had heard that D’Nisha was planning to take Kai away from her. Now Shayla knew she had to fight to protect her relationship with her baby.

“I don’t care what Anthony says. Kai is my baby. I have to bring him home.”

Inside Anthony’s house, D’Nisha felt increasingly confident about her plan. She believed Shayla would eventually give up.

She knew that filing a complaint would not automatically resolve the custody dispute. Still, she was determined to learn her legal options and seek help.

“What are we going to do?” D’Nisha asked nervously.
