The house is quiet.
Soft evening light comes through the windows.
ANTHONY sits comfortably on the couch, looking through his phone.
D’NISHA walks into the room slowly. She looks tired and tries to hide her discomfort.
She takes a few steps toward the kitchen, but suddenly stops.
Her face changes. She places one hand against the wall.
Her breathing becomes uneasy.
Anthony
“D’Nisha? Are you okay?”
D’Nisha quickly straightens herself and forces a small smile.
D’Nisha
“Yeah. I’m fine.”
Anthony
“You don’t look fine. You look like something is bothering you.”
D’Nisha
“It’s nothing. I’m just tired.”
Anthony puts his phone down and walks toward her.
Anthony
“You’ve been acting different lately. And now you suddenly look sick.
Please tell me what’s wrong.”
D’Nisha
“Anthony, I said I’m okay. Please don’t worry about me.”
Anthony studies her face. He can tell she is hiding something.
Anthony
“I’m your husband. If something is wrong with you, I need to know.”
D’Nisha remains silent. Suddenly, she closes her eyes and takes a slow breath.
Anthony becomes even more concerned.
Anthony
“That’s it. We’re going to the hospital.”
D’Nisha
“No, Anthony. I don’t need to go.”
Anthony
“Yes, you do. I’m not taking any chances with your health.”
D’Nisha looks nervous. She knows she can no longer avoid the situation.

INT. HOSPITAL — EMERGENCY ROOM — NIGHT
The hospital corridor is bright and busy.
Anthony walks beside D’Nisha as a nurse guides them toward an examination room.
D’Nisha sits on the bed. Anthony stands nearby, watching her carefully.
A doctor enters with a medical chart.
Anthony
“Yes. Is she okay?”
The doctor looks at D’Nisha first. D’Nisha lowers her eyes.
Anthony notices the expression on her face.
Anthony
“Doctor, please. Just tell me what’s happening.”
Doctor
“D’Nisha is going to need rest and proper medical care.”
Anthony
“Okay. But what exactly is wrong with her?”
The doctor looks at D’Nisha again. D’Nisha remains quiet.

The reason D’Nisha has been feeling unwell is finally revealed.
Doctor
“The reason she has been feeling unwell is because she is pregnant.”
Anthony freezes. His eyes widen. For several seconds, he cannot say anything.
Doctor
“Yes. She is pregnant.”
Anthony slowly turns toward D’Nisha.
The shock on his face is impossible to hide.
Anthony
“D’Nisha… Is that true?”
D’Nisha looks down. Her eyes begin to fill with emotion.
She knows the secret is finally out.
D’Nisha
“Anthony… I was going to tell you.”
Anthony
“You were going to tell me? When?
How long were you planning to keep this from me?”
D’Nisha
“I was scared. I didn’t know how you would react.”
Anthony looks overwhelmed. He runs a hand through his hair.
Anthony
“So that’s why you’ve been hiding everything from me.
That’s why you kept saying you were fine.”
D’Nisha
“I didn’t want everything to become complicated.
I thought I could find the right moment to tell you.”
Anthony looks away. The news has completely changed the atmosphere.

Anthony walks out of the room.
His expression is filled with anger and confusion.
He takes out his phone.
His first thought is WAYNE.
Anthony immediately calls him.
Wayne
“Anthony? What’s going on?”
Anthony
“You need to explain something to me.”
Anthony
“D’Nisha is pregnant.”
There is silence on the other end.
Anthony’s anger grows.
Anthony
“Did you know about this?”
Wayne
“Anthony, calm down. I—”
Anthony
“Don’t tell me to calm down!”
Anthony ends the call.
He stands in the hallway, breathing heavily.
His emotions are all over the place.
Anthony feels betrayed.
He feels confused and believes that too many secrets have been kept from him.
After a moment, Anthony returns to D’Nisha’s room.
