THE LAWYER WHO BETRAYED THEM
SCENE 1 — THE SECRET MEETING
INT. WAYNE’S OFFICE — EVENING
The blinds are half-drawn. A single desk lamp cuts a sharp circle of light across the polished wood.
Wayne sits motionless behind the desk. Across from him the lawyer places a thick folder on the surface and rests both hands on top of it.
Wayne’s voice is low and controlled.
WAYNE
I want every detail. Amber. Sahyla. Honey Pot. Everything you’ve been holding back.
The lawyer doesn’t open the folder yet.
LAWYER
Once I open this, there’s no taking it back.
Wayne doesn’t blink.
WAYNE
I’m past the point of caring about what can be taken back. Give me the truth.
The lawyer finally flips the cover open. Papers shift under the light.
LAWYER
I have records of their private discussions, the agreements they made without you, and the steps they were preparing to take next.
Wayne leans in slightly.
WAYNE
Start talking. Don’t leave anything out.
The lawyer begins.
Neither of them notices the soft shift of weight just beyond the door.
SCENE 2 — THE THREE WOMEN WAIT
INT. AMBER’S HOUSE — SAME EVENING
Amber sits on the edge of the couch, phone in her lap, screen dark.
Sahyla stands at the window, arms folded, watching the street.
Honey Pot paces the length of the living room, restless.
They have been waiting too long.
AMBER
She should have checked in by now.
SAHYLA
She said she had it under control. That was three hours ago.
Honey Pot stops mid-step.
HONEY POT
Something’s off. She’s been different the last few days.
Amber looks up.
AMBER
Different how?
HONEY POT
Guarded. Like she was already halfway out the door.
Sahyla turns from the window.
SAHYLA
Maybe we’re reading too much into it.
Amber’s phone lights up. She answers, listens for only a few seconds, then lowers it slowly.
AMBER
Wayne knows.
The room goes completely still.
SAHYLA
How?
Amber doesn’t answer. She doesn’t have to.
SCENE 3 — THE SHOCKING DISCOVERY
INT. WAYNE’S OFFICE — NIGHT
The lawyer is still speaking when the door swings open without a knock.
Amber, Sahyla, and Honey Pot stand in the doorway.
Wayne looks up. The lawyer freezes with a document half-raised.
LAWYER
Wayne… there’s more you need to hear.
Wayne’s eyes stay on the three women.
WAYNE
It seems the rest of the conversation just arrived.
The lawyer sets the paper down carefully.
LAWYER
They’ve been moving pieces without telling you. Plans. Contingencies. Things they never intended you to see.
Wayne studies the open folder, then the women.
WAYNE
So this is what was being kept from me.
The lawyer gives a single, tight nod.
LAWYER
And it’s only part of it.
No one speaks. The air in the room feels heavier with every second of silence.
SCENE 4 — THE BETRAYAL
INT. WAYNE’S OFFICE — CONTINUOUS
Amber steps fully into the room. Her gaze moves from the open folder to the lawyer’s face.
AMBER
What exactly are you doing?
The lawyer rises slowly.
LAWYER
Amber, let me explain before this gets worse.
SAHYLA
Explain how you handed him everything we told you in confidence?
She gestures sharply at the documents.
SAHYLA
You swore those conversations stayed between us.
Honey Pot’s voice is cold.
HONEY POT
And instead you’re sitting here laying it all out for him.
The lawyer’s hands tighten at her sides.
LAWYER
You don’t understand the position I was in.
Amber closes the distance by two steps.
AMBER
We understand exactly. You chose him over us.
Wayne remains seated, watching.
WAYNE
Everyone needs to lower the temperature.
Amber turns on him without hesitation.
AMBER
This doesn’t involve you yet, Wayne. Stay out of it.
Wayne lifts both hands in a brief gesture of surrender.
WAYNE
I’m not looking for a fight. Just clarity.
SCENE 5 — ANGER ERUPTS
Sahyla picks up the folder and flips through several pages. Her expression hardens with every sheet.
SAHYLA
She told him everything. Dates. Names. The full sequence.
Honey Pot stares at the lawyer.
HONEY POT
You sold us out.
LAWYER
I was under pressure I couldn’t manage alone.
AMBER
Pressure?
Amber’s voice is quiet, almost disbelieving.
AMBER
You gave us your word that our information was protected.
The lawyer looks down at the desk.
LAWYER
I made a serious mistake.
Sahyla drops the folder onto the desk with a sharp slap.
SAHYLA
A mistake doesn’t cover this.
Honey Pot starts forward. Amber’s arm comes up immediately, stopping her.
AMBER
Not like that.
HONEY POT
She needs to feel how deep this cuts.
AMBER
We’ll handle it without turning this into something we can’t walk away from.
The room falls into a heavy, breathing silence.
SCENE 6 — WAYNE SPEAKS THE TRUTH
Wayne stands.
WAYNE
You three deserve the full picture.
Amber faces him.
AMBER
Then tell us why our lawyer was feeding you information in the first place.
Wayne glances at the lawyer, then back.
WAYNE
She came to me. Unprompted.
Sahyla’s eyes widen.
SAHYLA
She approached you?
Wayne nods once.
WAYNE
She said there were things I needed to know before they went any further.
Honey Pot crosses her arms.
HONEY POT
And you just accepted it?
WAYNE
I listened. That’s all I did.
Amber turns back to the lawyer.
AMBER
Why would you do that to us?
The lawyer struggles for words.
LAWYER
I thought I was protecting myself.
Amber’s face softens for a fraction of a second, then hardens again.
AMBER
You should have come to us first.
SCENE 7 — THE CONFRONTATION
INT. WAYNE’S OFFICE — LATER
The argument has sharpened.
SAHYLA
You had one responsibility.
LAWYER
I know.
SAHYLA
No. You clearly don’t.
Honey Pot steps closer.
HONEY POT
You put everything we’ve built at risk. Everything.
The lawyer looks overwhelmed.
LAWYER
I’m sorry.
Amber draws a slow breath.
AMBER
Sorry doesn’t repair what you broke.
She turns to Wayne.
AMBER
Did she give you every single detail?
Wayne hesitates.
WAYNE
She gave me information.
Amber’s eyes narrow.
AMBER
That isn’t the question I asked.
Wayne meets her gaze.
WAYNE
Yes. She did.
Sahyla turns away, jaw tight.
Honey Pot shakes her head once.
HONEY POT
Unbelievable.
SCENE 8 — THE LAWYER’S FINAL EXPLANATION
The lawyer closes the folder with deliberate care.
LAWYER
I know how angry you are.
AMBER
You have no idea how deep this goes.
LAWYER
I never set out to destroy what the three of you built.
SAHYLA
Then why hand it to Wayne?
LAWYER
Because I believed the truth was going to surface whether I spoke or not. I thought controlling the timing might limit the damage.
Honey Pot answers without pause.
HONEY POT
That decision belonged to us. Not you.
The lawyer has nothing left to say.
Wayne looks between them.
WAYNE
This has already gone further than it should have.
Amber nods once, eyes still on the lawyer.
AMBER
You’re right.
She faces the lawyer fully.
AMBER
We’re done trusting you.
SCENE 9 — A NEW DECISION
INT. WAYNE’S OFFICE — NIGHT
The room has gone quiet.
Amber, Sahyla, and Honey Pot stand side by side.
They exchange a single look that needs no words.
SAHYLA
We need a new lawyer.
HONEY POT
Someone whose loyalty isn’t for sale.
Amber nods.
AMBER
And from this moment forward, no one gets information about us without our direct permission.
Wayne watches them carefully.
WAYNE
That’s the first smart decision any of you have made tonight.
Amber turns her head toward him.
AMBER
Don’t mistake this for alignment with you.
Wayne gives a small nod.
WAYNE
I didn’t.
The lawyer gathers her papers and bag. She looks at the three women one last time.
LAWYER
I’m sorry.
Amber does not answer.
The lawyer walks out. The door closes behind her with a soft, final click.
SCENE 10 — THE WARNING
EXT. WAYNE’S OFFICE — NIGHT
Amber, Sahyla, and Honey Pot step out into the cool night air together.
The street is quiet.
Sahyla glances at Amber.
SAHYLA
What now?
Amber looks back at the building for a long moment.
AMBER
We find out exactly what she told him. Every word.
Honey Pot nods.
HONEY POT
And after that?
Amber draws a steady breath.
AMBER
Then we protect what’s ours.
Sahyla’s voice is firm.
SAHYLA
Together?
Amber meets her eyes.
AMBER
Together.
Honey Pot allows the smallest hint of a smile.
The three women walk away down the sidewalk.
Behind them, Wayne stands at the office window, watching their figures disappear into the dark.
His expression is unreadable, but the tension in his shoulders says the same thing:
This is nowhere near finished.
FADE OUT.
