DESTINY STANDS BY BROOKE
INT. DESTINY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – EVENING

The house is quiet.

Soft golden light filters through the curtains.

Destiny sits on the couch, scrolling through her phone.

She suddenly stops.

Her expression changes.

She has been thinking about Brooke.

The tension.

The tears.

The way Brooke has been struggling with everything surrounding Isaiah.

Destiny sighs deeply.

She picks up her phone.

She presses Brooke’s name.

The phone rings.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

Finally—

BROOKE
Hello?

Her voice sounds tired.

Destiny immediately notices.

DESTINY
Brooke… are you okay?

There is a long silence.

Brooke tries to hide her emotions.

BROOKE
Yeah. I’m fine.

Destiny shakes her head.

She knows Brooke is lying.

DESTINY
No, you’re not.

Brooke looks down.

Her eyes slowly fill with tears.

BROOKE
I just… I don’t know what I’m supposed to do anymore.

Destiny’s expression softens.

DESTINY
You don’t have to figure everything out by yourself.

Brooke wipes her cheek.

BROOKE
It’s complicated, Destiny.
DESTINY
I know.

Destiny takes a breath.

She chooses her next words carefully.

DESTINY
That’s why I want you to come stay with me.

Brooke looks surprised.

BROOKE
Come stay with you?
DESTINY
Yes.

Destiny sits forward.

Her voice becomes more serious.

DESTINY
Tell everybody that you’re going to stay at Destiny’s house.

Brooke remains silent.

BROOKE
I don’t know if they’ll let me.
DESTINY
Brooke, you’re not asking for permission to disappear.
You’re coming somewhere safe so you can breathe.

Brooke’s eyes fill with tears again.

She finally allows herself to smile.

Just a little.

BROOKE
You really mean that?
DESTINY
Of course I do.

Destiny pauses.

Then she continues.

DESTINY
And once you’re here, we’re going to talk to Isaiah.

Brooke’s smile disappears.

Her eyes become nervous.

BROOKE
Isaiah?
DESTINY
Yes.

Brooke looks away.

The name alone brings back everything she has been trying to avoid.

BROOKE
What are we supposed to say to him?
DESTINY
We’re going to ask him what he actually wants.

Brooke listens carefully.

DESTINY
No guessing.
No assumptions.
No more wondering what he’s thinking.
We’re going to hear it directly from him.

Brooke takes a shaky breath.

BROOKE
What if he doesn’t want to talk?

Destiny doesn’t hesitate.

DESTINY
Then we’ll know where he stands.

Brooke looks down at her hands.

For a moment, she says nothing.

BROOKE
I’m scared.

Destiny’s expression softens.

DESTINY
You have every right to be.

A beat.

DESTINY
But you don’t have to be scared alone.

Brooke closes her eyes.

A tear rolls down her cheek.

BROOKE
Okay.
DESTINY
Okay?
BROOKE
I’ll come.

Destiny immediately relaxes.

DESTINY
Good.
BROOKE
I’ll tell everyone I’m staying with you for a while.
DESTINY
Exactly.

Destiny stands from the couch.

She grabs her purse.

DESTINY
Pack whatever you need.
I’ll be waiting.

Brooke smiles faintly.

BROOKE
Thank you, Destiny.
DESTINY
Don’t thank me.
We’re family.

The call ends.

Destiny stares at the phone.

Her smile slowly disappears.

She knows the conversation with Isaiah won’t be easy.

But she also knows Brooke needs someone willing to stand beside her.

INT. BROOKE’S ROOM – NIGHT

Brooke sits on the edge of her bed.

Her phone rests beside her.

She stares at her suitcase.

For several seconds, she doesn’t move.

Then she begins packing.

A few clothes.

Her charger.

Some personal belongings.

She stops when she sees a photograph.

Brooke picks it up.

Her expression becomes emotional.

She remembers happier times.

A small smile appears.

Then fades.

She places the photo carefully inside her bag.

Brooke takes a deep breath.

She stands.

INT. LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Brooke walks into the living room carrying her bag.

Everyone looks at her.

There is confusion in the room.

BROOKE
I’m going to stay with Destiny for a while.

The room becomes quiet.

Someone looks surprised.

Brooke keeps her voice calm.

BROOKE
I just need some space.

Nobody immediately responds.

Brooke looks around.

She doesn’t want an argument.

She simply wants understanding.

BROOKE
I’ll be okay.

She turns toward the door.

EXT. DESTINY’S HOUSE – NIGHT

A car pulls up.

Destiny steps outside.

She sees Brooke getting out.

Destiny immediately walks toward her.

Brooke drops her bag.

Destiny hugs her tightly.

For the first time all day, Brooke feels like she can breathe.

DESTINY
You made it.
BROOKE
Yeah.

Destiny pulls away and looks into Brooke’s eyes.

DESTINY
You okay?

Brooke nods.

BROOKE
I’m better now.

Destiny picks up her bag.

DESTINY
Come inside.

They walk toward the house.

INT. DESTINY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – LATER

Brooke sits on the couch.

Destiny brings her a glass of water.

She sits beside her.

The two women exchange a serious look.

DESTINY
Tomorrow, we’re going to see Isaiah.

Brooke nods slowly.

BROOKE
I know.
DESTINY
And we’re not going there to fight.

Brooke looks at her.

DESTINY
We’re going there for answers.

Brooke takes a breath.

BROOKE
What if his answer hurts?

Destiny reaches for her hand.

DESTINY
Then we’ll deal with it together.

Brooke looks down.

BROOKE
I just want to know what he wants.
DESTINY
Then that’s exactly what we’re going to ask him.
INT. ISAIAH’S HOUSE – NEXT DAY

The following afternoon.

Isaiah sits alone in the living room.

His phone rests on the table.

He looks distracted.

Suddenly—

KNOCK. KNOCK.

Isaiah looks toward the door.

Another knock.

He stands.

He opens the door.

His eyes widen.

Brooke stands there.

Destiny stands beside her.

Isaiah immediately becomes tense.

ISAIAH
Brooke?

Brooke remains silent.

Destiny steps forward.

DESTINY
We need to talk.

Isaiah looks between them.

ISAIAH
About what?

Destiny’s expression is firm.

DESTINY
About what you want.

Isaiah’s face changes.

ISAIAH
What are you talking about?

Brooke finally speaks.

Her voice is quiet.

BROOKE
Isaiah… I need the truth.

Isaiah looks at her.

There is pain in his eyes.

BROOKE
I don’t want to keep guessing anymore.

Destiny remains beside Brooke.

DESTINY
She deserves an answer.

Isaiah takes a step backward.

He looks overwhelmed.

ISAIAH
I didn’t know she felt this way.

Brooke shakes her head.

BROOKE
That’s the problem.

Isaiah looks down.

The silence becomes heavy.

Destiny watches him carefully.

DESTINY
You need to tell her what you really want.

Isaiah looks back at Brooke.

His expression is conflicted.

ISAIAH
Brooke…

She waits.

BROOKE
What do you want from me?

Isaiah struggles to answer.

For once, there is nowhere to hide.

No excuses.

No distractions.

Just the truth standing between them.

Destiny gently squeezes Brooke’s hand.

Brooke takes a deep breath.

Whatever Isaiah says next could change everything.

FADE OUT.
