Lauren Catches Wayne and Tamara Crossing the Line—What Will Wayne Do Next?

INT. WAYNE’S MANSION – LIVING ROOM – EVENING

The room is quiet.

Wayne stands near the window, lost in thought.

The front door opens.

Wayne turns around.

The moment he sees Tamara, his expression changes. For a second, everything around him seems to disappear.

THE UNEXPECTED MEETING

WAYNE

Tamara?

Tamara gives him a small smile.

TAMARA

Hey, Wayne.

Wayne slowly walks toward her. There is an awkward silence between them, but behind that silence is a history neither of them can ignore.

WAYNE

I wasn’t expecting to see you.

TAMARA

Maybe that’s why I came.

Wayne looks at her, confused.

WAYNE

What does that mean?

TAMARA

It means I wanted to talk to you without everybody else being around.

OLD FEELINGS RETURN

They sit across from each other. For a moment, neither says anything.

WAYNE

So… how have you been?

TAMARA

Honestly?

She looks directly into his eyes.

TAMARA

Not as good as I pretend to be.

Wayne’s expression softens.

WAYNE

Tamara…

TAMARA

Don’t. I already know what you’re going to say.

WAYNE

Then you know I still care about you.

Tamara looks back at him. His words clearly affect her.

TAMARA

That’s the problem, Wayne.

WAYNE

What problem?

TAMARA

Every time I see you, I start remembering everything.

THE LINE GETS CROSSED

Wayne moves closer.

WAYNE

Maybe because some things never really went away.

Tamara becomes quiet.

The tension between them grows as they talk about the past—old arguments, old memories, and all the things they never said.

TAMARA

You really think we could ever go back?

Wayne pauses.

WAYNE

I don’t know. But I know what I feel when I’m standing here with you.

TAMARA

And what do you feel?

Wayne doesn’t answer immediately.

WAYNE

Something I thought I had already buried.

Tamara looks down, then back at him.

They are now standing extremely close. The emotional tension becomes overwhelming, and they cross a boundary neither of them expected to cross.

LAUREN WALKS IN

Suddenly—the front door opens.

Lauren walks inside.

She stops immediately.

Her eyes widen as she sees Wayne and Tamara standing extremely close to each other.

Lauren’s expression changes from confusion to anger.

LAUREN

Wayne?!

Wayne turns around. His face drops.

WAYNE

Lauren…

Tamara immediately steps back.

TAMARA

Lauren, wait—

LAUREN

Don’t! I don’t want an explanation right now.

LAUREN’S ANGER EXPLODES

Lauren walks toward them.

LAUREN

I walk into this room and find you standing like that with Tamara, and you’re telling me to calm down?

WAYNE

Nothing happened.

Lauren stares at him.

LAUREN

Nothing? Then why were you two standing so close?

Wayne struggles to answer.

TAMARA

Lauren, this isn’t what you think.

LAUREN

Then tell me what it is.

Tamara becomes silent.

Lauren looks at Wayne.

LAUREN

Exactly.

WAYNE IS PUT ON THE SPOT

Wayne takes a breath.

WAYNE

Lauren, calm down. We were talking.

LAUREN

Talking doesn’t look like that, Wayne.

The room becomes silent.

Lauren steps closer. Her anger reaches its breaking point.

She grabs Wayne and pulls him backward, separating him from Tamara.

WAYNE

Lauren! What are you doing?

LAUREN

I’m making sure you remember who you’re talking to!

Wayne gently pulls himself away.

WAYNE

You can’t just grab me like that.

LAUREN

And you can’t just stand here with Tamara like I’m invisible!

TAMARA ADMITS THE TRUTH

Tamara watches them carefully.

TAMARA

Wayne, maybe I should leave.

Wayne looks toward her.

WAYNE

Tamara—

Lauren notices the way Wayne looks at Tamara, and it hurts her even more.

LAUREN

See? You still look at her like you have feelings for her.

Wayne freezes.

Tamara lowers her eyes.

TAMARA

Lauren is right about one thing.

Wayne looks at her.

TAMARA

There are feelings here.

Lauren’s face tightens.

WAYNE MUST CHOOSE

LAUREN

Then what am I supposed to do with that?

Wayne walks toward Lauren.

WAYNE

Give me a chance to explain.

LAUREN

Explain what?

Wayne stops.

He looks between Lauren and Tamara.

For the first time, he realizes that whatever decision he makes next could change all three of their lives.

WAYNE

I don’t have the answer yet.

Lauren stares at him in disbelief.

LAUREN

Then maybe that’s the answer.

She turns toward the door.

LAUREN WALKS AWAY

WAYNE

Lauren, wait!

Lauren stops but doesn’t turn around.

LAUREN

You better figure out what you want, Wayne.

She slowly looks back at him.

LAUREN

Because I’m not going to stand around and compete for someone who doesn’t know where his heart belongs.

Lauren walks out.

The door closes.

THE AFTERMATH

Wayne stands frozen.

Tamara remains behind him.

She looks at him with sadness.

TAMARA

Wayne…

WAYNE

Don’t say anything.

Tamara nods.

Wayne looks toward the closed door, then slowly turns toward Tamara.

WAYNE

I think I just lost something tonight.

TAMARA

Or maybe you finally discovered what you were afraid to admit.

Wayne says nothing.

The camera slowly pulls back.

The room falls silent.

THE BIG QUESTION

Wayne’s heart is clearly divided.

Lauren… or Tamara?

And after Lauren walks away, Wayne must finally decide whether he will fight for Lauren, confront his feelings for Tamara, or risk losing them both.
