Lauren, Wayne and Honey Pot
Even after the argument with Wayne was over, her mind kept replaying the same moments again and again. Wayne sitting with Honey Pot. The laughter. The comfortable way they talked to each other. The closeness between them. To Wayne, it might have been nothing more than a friendly conversation, but to Lauren, it felt like a line had been crossed.
She kept asking herself the same question.
“Why was Wayne so comfortable with her?”
Lauren knew that being friendly with someone was not automatically wrong. She also understood that Wayne and Honey Pot might have to interact because of work and their past connection. But there was a difference between being friendly and being flirty.
That difference was exactly what Lauren could not ignore.
She remembered what she had told Wayne earlier.
“Being friendly and being flirty are two completely different things.”
The words stayed in her head.
Lauren tried to convince herself that she was overthinking everything. Maybe Wayne really was telling the truth. Maybe Honey Pot was simply an employee he respected. Maybe the laughter meant nothing. Maybe the hugs meant nothing.
But then another question appeared.
“What if it does mean something?”
Lauren immediately pushed the thought away.
“No. I can’t think like that.”
But fear does not disappear simply because you tell yourself not to think about it.
The possibility that Wayne could have genuine feelings for Honey Pot terrified her. Lauren was not only worried about another woman. She was worried about everything she had built with Wayne.
Their relationship.
Their home.
Their life.
Their work.
Their podcast.
Their future.
What if all of it was suddenly at risk?
Lauren wondered whether Wayne truly understood how much his behavior affected her. She did not want to control who he spoke to or who he worked with. She simply wanted to feel respected and secure in her relationship.
She wanted Wayne to understand that her concerns were not coming from nowhere.
Later that evening, Lauren sat quietly, thinking about everything that had happened.
She imagined a future where Wayne and Honey Pot became even closer.
What would happen then?
Would Wayne still choose Lauren?
Or would Honey Pot become more important to him?
The thought broke her heart.
“What if he has feelings for her?”
She paused.
“And what if she has feelings for him too?”
That was the question she was most afraid to answer.
If Wayne and Honey Pot really did love each other, Lauren wondered what choice Wayne would make.
Would he fight for his relationship with Lauren?
Would he walk away?
Or would he choose Honey Pot?
Lauren knew that she could not force Wayne to love her. She could not compete with another woman for someone’s heart. If Wayne truly wanted to be with her, he would have to make that choice himself.
But another fear was even bigger.
What would happen to Lauren’s life if Wayne left?
She looked around and thought about everything they had built together. The house was not just a house. It represented years of memories, arguments, celebrations, and dreams.
The car was not just a car.
The podcast was not just a podcast.
The office was not just a workplace.
Her career was connected to the life she had built around Wayne.
If their relationship collapsed, would everything else collapse with it?
Lauren tried to remain strong.
“I cannot let fear destroy me.”
But deep inside, she knew the situation was becoming more complicated.
The biggest problem was not Honey Pot herself.
The biggest problem was trust.
Lauren needed answers from Wayne.
She needed to know where his heart really was.
The next time they talked, Lauren decided she would not scream. She would not accuse him without evidence. She would simply ask him the question she had been too afraid to ask.
“Wayne, tell me the truth. Is there something between you and Honey Pot?”
The question would change everything.
Because once Wayne answered, Lauren would finally know whether her fears were only fears or whether there was something real behind them.
And if Wayne’s answer was not what Lauren wanted to hear, she would have another decision to make.
Would she fight for her relationship?
Would she walk away?
Or would she stay silent and watch everything she had built slowly fall apart?
Meanwhile, Honey Pot had no idea how serious the situation had become.
She continued living her life, unaware that her friendship with Wayne had created a storm inside Lauren’s mind.
But sometimes, the truth does not stay hidden forever.
One conversation.
One confession.
One unexpected message.
Any of them could change the entire situation.
And if Wayne really had feelings for Honey Pot, Lauren’s worst fears could become reality.
Her relationship, her home, her podcast, her career, and everything she had worked for could suddenly be thrown into uncertainty.
But perhaps Lauren’s biggest battle was not against Honey Pot.
It was against the fear that she was no longer enough for the man she loved.
Now, only Wayne knew the truth.
And sooner or later, he would have to choose.
Lauren or Honey Pot?
The answer could change all of their lives.
