The Hospital Confrontation
When New Berger found out that Bethany had been admitted to the hospital again, anger immediately took over him. Without wasting another second, he rushed to the hospital. His mind was filled with questions. Why had Bethany’s condition become serious again? And where was Larry when his daughter needed him the most?
New Berger Confronts Larry
As soon as New Berger entered the hospital corridor, he saw Larry standing outside Bethany’s room. The sight of him made New Berger even angrier.
New Berger walked straight toward Larry and started arguing with him. The argument quickly became heated, and soon the two men were confronting each other face-to-face.
New Berger angrily shouted, “If anything happens to my daughter, I will never forgive you! I will hand you over to the police!”
Larry tried to defend himself, but New Berger refused to listen. His anger was getting out of control. The noise reached Bethany, who came out of her room and immediately tried to stop them.
Bethany Tries to Stop Them
Bethany stepped between the two men and desperately tried to calm them down.
“Stop it! Both of you! Why are you fighting in the hospital?” she shouted.
Larry looked at Bethany with frustration and pain in his eyes. He finally turned toward her and said, “Bethany, sit down. Because of your father, I am going to divorce you. I can’t keep living like this.”
Bethany froze after hearing those words. She had never expected Larry to say the word divorce so openly. Her heart sank, but before she could respond, she turned toward her father.
Father and Daughter Clash
“Dad, please leave,” Bethany said firmly.
New Berger looked at his daughter in disbelief. He couldn’t understand why she was defending Larry after everything that had happened.
“Bethany, that man is not worthy of you,” New Berger said. “I warned you before. I told you not to marry someone like him. He is still with you only because of your money.”
Bethany’s eyes filled with tears. She couldn’t take it anymore.
“You don’t know Larry the way I do!” she shouted. “Why do you always interfere in my life? Why do you think you can make every decision for me?”
New Berger tried to explain himself. “I’m your father. I can’t stand by and watch someone destroy your life.”
Bethany shook her head.
“You’re not protecting my life, Dad. You’re destroying it!”
Larry Walks Away
Larry had heard every word. His anger slowly turned into disappointment. He looked at Bethany, hoping she would stop him or say something that would make him stay.
But Bethany was too overwhelmed by the argument between her husband and her father.
Larry finally stepped back and said, “Fine. If your father’s opinion matters more than our marriage, then I’m leaving.”
He turned around and walked away from the hospital in anger.
Bethany watched him disappear down the corridor. She wanted to stop him, but she couldn’t find the words. After a few seconds, she turned back toward her father.
“Are you happy now?” she asked through her tears. “You have destroyed my marriage, and now Larry is gone too.”
New Berger tried to comfort her, but Bethany pulled away.
“Please leave me alone, Dad.”
A Secret Waiting to Be Revealed
New Berger stood silently outside Bethany’s room while she walked back inside. He had no idea how deeply his words had hurt his daughter.
Meanwhile, Larry had reached another part of the hospital. Just as he was about to leave, his phone suddenly vibrated.
He looked at the screen and saw an unknown message.
The message read: “You don’t know the real reason Bethany was admitted to the hospital again. If you want to know the truth, come to the old building before midnight.”
Larry’s face suddenly went pale.
He looked back toward the hospital and wondered who could have sent the message—and what secret they were hiding.
Was Bethany’s hospitalization connected to a secret that New Berger had been hiding from everyone? And if Larry discovered the truth, would he still go through with the divorce?
