BROOKE FINDS REFUGE WITH DESTINY

🎬 SCENE 1 — EXT. DESTINY’S HOUSE — EVENING

The sun is beginning to set. The street is quiet, and a soft breeze moves through the trees.

Brooke walks quickly toward Destiny’s house. She looks tired and emotionally overwhelmed, but she keeps moving.

She reaches the front door and pauses for a moment.

Brooke takes a deep breath before knocking.

A few seconds later, the door opens.

Destiny is surprised to see her standing there.

DESTINY

Brooke? What are you doing here?

Brooke looks down, trying to collect her thoughts.

BROOKE

I needed somewhere to go. I didn’t know where else I could go.

Destiny immediately notices that something is wrong.

She steps aside and lets Brooke inside.

DESTINY

Come in. You’re safe here. We can talk.

Brooke quietly walks inside.

Destiny closes the door behind her.

🎬 SCENE 2 — INT. DESTINY’S LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS

Brooke sits on the couch.

Destiny sits across from her, watching her carefully.

The room is quiet.

Brooke looks at her hands.

DESTINY

Brooke, what happened?

Brooke takes a slow breath.

BROOKE

I just needed some space. Everything has been happening so fast, and I didn’t want another argument.

Destiny nods.

DESTINY

You should have called me sooner.

Brooke looks up.

BROOKE

I know. I’m sorry.

Destiny reaches for her phone.

She looks at the screen, thinking about what to do.

Then she realizes that Larry and Sharra must be searching for Brooke.

Destiny decides to call Larry.

🎬 SCENE 3 — INT. DESTINY’S LIVING ROOM — MOMENTS LATER

Destiny presses Larry’s name.

The phone rings.

Larry answers almost immediately.

LARRY

Destiny? Where are you?

Destiny glances toward Brooke.

DESTINY

Larry, I need to tell you something.

Larry becomes more serious.

LARRY

What is it?

Destiny speaks calmly.

DESTINY

Brooke is here with me. She made it to my house.

There is a brief silence on the phone.

Larry’s expression changes instantly.

His frustration becomes obvious.

LARRY

What?

Destiny stays quiet.

DESTINY

Brooke came here a little while ago.

Larry takes a deep breath, clearly upset.

LARRY

You’re telling me this now?

Destiny looks uncomfortable.

DESTINY

Larry, I was trying to make sure Brooke was okay first.

Larry’s voice becomes sharper.

LARRY

Destiny, you should have told me immediately!

Brooke looks toward Destiny after hearing Larry’s raised voice.

🎬 SCENE 4 — INT. LARRY’S HOUSE — SAME TIME

Larry stands in the middle of the living room, still holding his phone.

Sharra is nearby.

She watches Larry carefully.

Larry turns toward her.

LARRY

Brooke is with Destiny.

Sharra looks surprised.

SHARRA

She’s with Destiny?

Larry nods angrily.

LARRY

Yes. Destiny just told me.

Sharra looks relieved for a moment.

SHARRA

At least we know where Brooke is now.

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY

That’s not the point. We’ve been looking everywhere.

Sharra looks at him.

SHARRA

Larry, calm down.

Larry turns back to the phone.

🎬 SCENE 5 — INT. DESTINY’S LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS

Destiny is still on the call.

Larry speaks with frustration.

LARRY

You should have told me as soon as Brooke arrived. Sharra and I have been looking everywhere for her!

Destiny listens quietly.

DESTINY

I understand, but Brooke needed someone to listen to her.

Larry pauses.

LARRY

And you thought keeping her location from us was the right thing?

Destiny shakes her head.

DESTINY

I didn’t keep her from you. I was just trying to understand what happened before calling you.

Brooke looks nervous.

Destiny notices.

She lowers her voice.

DESTINY

Larry, please. Brooke is already stressed.

Larry takes another breath.

His anger begins to settle slightly.

LARRY

I just want to know that she’s okay.

Destiny looks at Brooke.

DESTINY

She’s okay.

Larry closes his eyes for a moment.

LARRY

Thank you for telling me.

🎬 SCENE 6 — INT. DESTINY’S LIVING ROOM — LATER

Destiny ends the call.

Brooke looks at her.

BROOKE

Was he really angry?

Destiny nods.

DESTINY

He was worried. He and Sharra have been searching for you.

Brooke looks down.

BROOKE

I didn’t want everyone looking for me. I just needed time to think.

Destiny sits beside her.

DESTINY

I understand.

Brooke looks at Destiny.

BROOKE

Do you think Larry is going to come here?

Destiny pauses.

DESTINY

I don’t know.

Brooke becomes quiet.

BROOKE

I’m not trying to cause problems.

DESTINY

I know you’re not.

Destiny gives her a reassuring look.

DESTINY

But eventually, you’re going to have to talk to Larry.

Brooke nods slowly.

🎬 SCENE 7 — INT. LARRY’S HOUSE — NIGHT

Larry places his phone on the table.

Sharra walks closer.

SHARRA

You need to calm down before you talk to Brooke.

Larry looks frustrated.

LARRY

I was scared something had happened to her.

Sharra nods.

SHARRA

I know. But now we know she’s safe.

Larry sits down.

His anger slowly turns into concern.

LARRY

I just wish Destiny had told us sooner.

SHARRA

Maybe she was trying to protect Brooke.

Larry looks toward the window.

LARRY

I understand that. But we searched everywhere.

Sharra sits beside him.

SHARRA

The important thing is that Brooke is safe.

Larry nods.

LARRY

I know.

He looks down at his phone.

For a moment, he considers calling Destiny again.

Then he stops.

LARRY

I need to think before I say something I’ll regret.

Sharra gives him a small nod.

🎬 SCENE 8 — INT. DESTINY’S HOUSE — NIGHT

Brooke sits quietly while Destiny brings her a glass of water.

Destiny places it on the table.

DESTINY

Here.

Brooke takes it.

BROOKE

Thank you.

Destiny sits beside her.

DESTINY

You can stay here tonight if you need some time to clear your head.

Brooke looks relieved.

BROOKE

Really?

DESTINY

Of course.

Brooke smiles faintly.

BROOKE

I just don’t want Larry to think I ran away from everyone.

DESTINY

Then tell him the truth.

Brooke nods.

BROOKE

I will.

🎬 SCENE 9 — INT. DESTINY’S HOUSE — LATER THAT NIGHT

The house is quiet.

Brooke looks at her phone.

She sees several missed calls.

Her expression becomes emotional.

Destiny notices.

DESTINY

You don’t have to answer right now.

Brooke looks at her.

BROOKE

I think I should.

She unlocks her phone.

Before she can call, a message from Larry appears.

Brooke reads it silently.

Destiny watches her.

DESTINY

What did he say?

Brooke looks up.

BROOKE

He just wants to know that I’m okay.

Destiny smiles softly.

DESTINY

Then maybe that’s where you should start.

Brooke nods.

She begins typing a message.

🎬 SCENE 10 — INT. LARRY’S HOUSE — SAME NIGHT

Larry sits quietly with his phone in his hand.

Sharra sits nearby.

Larry looks exhausted after the long search.

Suddenly, his phone vibrates.

He looks at the screen.

A message from Brooke has arrived.

Larry opens it.

His expression softens.

Sharra looks at him.

SHARRA

Is it Brooke?

Larry nods.

LARRY

Yeah.

He reads the message again.

LARRY

She says she’s okay.

Sharra smiles with relief.

SHARRA

Good.

Larry leans back.

His anger is gone now.

Only concern remains.

LARRY

I just want her home when she’s ready.

🎬 SCENE 11 — INT. DESTINY’S LIVING ROOM — NIGHT

Brooke puts her phone down.

She looks calmer than before.

Destiny smiles.

DESTINY

Feeling better?

Brooke nods.

BROOKE

A little.

Destiny stands.

DESTINY

Then get some rest. Tomorrow can be a new day.

Brooke looks toward the window.

BROOKE

I think tomorrow I’ll talk to Larry.

Destiny nods.

DESTINY

That’s probably the best thing you can do.

Brooke gives a small smile.

The camera slowly pulls back as the room becomes quiet.

For the first time that evening, Brooke feels like she can breathe.

Across town, Larry sits quietly, knowing that Brooke is safe.

The conflict is not over, but at least everyone finally knows where she is.

FADE OUT.
