Cameron Confronts Isaiah Over Brooke

SCENE 1 — CAMERON ARRIVES

The afternoon is quiet when Cameron arrives at Isaiah’s house. His face is serious, and his mind is filled with questions. He has just learned that Brooke left home because she did not want to go to college. Instead of staying with her family, she came to Isaiah’s house and had been there for two nights.

Cameron walks toward the front door and knocks firmly. A few seconds later, Isaiah opens the door. The moment the two men see each other, Cameron realizes that this conversation is not going to be easy.

CAMERON

“Where is Brooke?”

Isaiah hesitates before answering.

ISAIAH

“She’s here.”

Cameron’s eyes widen.

CAMERON

“What do you mean she’s here?”

Isaiah steps outside and closes the door behind him.

ISAIAH

“Brooke ran away because she didn’t want to go to college. She came here because she didn’t know where else to go.”

Cameron shakes his head, clearly upset.

CAMERON

“How long has she been here?”

ISAIAH

“Two nights.”

EMOTIONAL BEAT: Cameron is shocked that Brooke has been away from home for two nights without her family knowing where she is.

SCENE 2 — THE ARGUMENT BEGINS

Cameron looks toward the house, worried about Brooke. He cannot understand why Isaiah allowed the situation to continue without contacting her family.

CAMERON

“She can’t just disappear from home and stay here without telling anyone. She needs help, not more confusion.”

Isaiah crosses his arms and becomes defensive.

ISAIAH

“I didn’t force her to come here. Brooke made her own decision.”

Cameron takes a deep breath.

CAMERON

“Then tell me exactly what happened.”

Isaiah looks at Cameron and speaks carelessly.

ISAIAH

“Brooke has been with me before. She already knows me. She spent the night with me before, and now she’s going to stay with you.”

Cameron’s expression immediately changes. His anger rises when he hears Isaiah speaking about Brooke in such a disrespectful way.

CAMERON

“What did you just say?”

ISAIAH

“You heard me.”

Cameron steps closer.

CAMERON

“Don’t talk about Brooke like she’s something you can pass around. She has feelings, and she deserves respect.”

SCENE 3 — CAMERON LOSES HIS TEMPER

The argument becomes more heated. Isaiah refuses to back down, while Cameron becomes increasingly angry.

ISAIAH

“Brooke made her choice. If she wants to stay here, that’s her decision.”

CAMERON

“You should have helped her instead of making everything worse.”

Isaiah continues arguing, and Cameron’s anger reaches its breaking point. Cameron punches Isaiah, causing Isaiah to stumble backward in shock.

The sudden confrontation leaves both men stunned.

Cameron breathes heavily and looks directly at Isaiah.

CAMERON

“How can you talk about Brooke like that? You should be ashamed of yourself!”

Isaiah touches his face and looks at Cameron with anger.

ISAIAH

“You think hitting me is going to fix anything?”

The question makes Cameron pause.

SCENE 4 — ISAIAH EXPLAINS HIMSELF

Isaiah takes a breath. His anger begins to turn into frustration as he tries to explain what happened.

ISAIAH

“You came here angry, but you never even asked me what Brooke told me.”

Cameron looks at him.

CAMERON

“Then tell me.”

Isaiah lowers his voice.

ISAIAH

“Brooke came here because she felt like nobody was listening to her. She was scared about college and didn’t know how to tell everyone that she didn’t want to go.”

Cameron’s expression slowly changes.

ISAIAH

“I’m not saying I handled everything perfectly. Maybe I should have called someone. Maybe I should have encouraged her to go home. But I wasn’t going to throw her out when she was scared.”

Cameron remains silent for a moment.

CAMERON

“Then why did you talk about her like that?”

Isaiah looks down.

ISAIAH

“Because I was angry. I shouldn’t have said it that way.”

SCENE 5 — BROOKE HEARS THE TRUTH

Inside the house, Brooke has heard the entire argument. She stands quietly near the hallway, realizing that Cameron and Isaiah have been fighting because of her.

When Cameron enters the house, Brooke looks at him nervously.

BROOKE

“Cameron…”

Cameron’s anger disappears when he sees her worried expression.

CAMERON

“Are you okay?”

Brooke nods, but tears begin forming in her eyes.

BROOKE

“I’m sorry. I didn’t want this to happen.”

CAMERON

“You don’t have to apologize for being scared.”

Brooke looks toward Isaiah.

BROOKE

“I didn’t know what else to do. I just needed somewhere to go.”

Cameron nods gently.

CAMERON

“Then let’s talk about what you really want. But running away can’t solve everything.”

SCENE 6 — A NEW UNDERSTANDING

Isaiah looks at Cameron and speaks calmly.

ISAIAH

“Brooke isn’t something that belongs to me or you. She’s a person. She has feelings, and she has to make her own choices.”

Cameron slowly nods.

CAMERON

“You’re right. But we also have to make sure she’s safe.”

Isaiah agrees.

ISAIAH

“Then we need to help her talk to her family.”

Brooke takes a deep breath.

BROOKE

“I’m scared, but I know I can’t keep running away.”

Cameron looks at her reassuringly.

CAMERON

“You don’t have to face everything alone.”

FINAL SCENE — WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The tension between Cameron and Isaiah finally begins to fade. Cameron admits that losing his temper was wrong, while Isaiah admits that his words about Brooke were disrespectful.

ISAIAH

“I’m sorry for what I said about Brooke.”

CAMERON

“And I’m sorry I hit you.”

Brooke watches them quietly. She knows that her decision to leave home has created a difficult situation, but she also realizes that she cannot continue avoiding the problems in her life.

She still has to speak with her family. She still has to decide what she truly wants for her education and future. Most importantly, she needs to make those decisions for herself instead of running away from difficult conversations.

FADE OUT.
