Caught at Shayla’s House
Anthony thought no one would know. Dnisha followed her instincts straight to Shayla’s front door — and opened a bedroom door she’d never forget.

Shayla’s House — Evening

The house is unusually quiet. Anthony steps through the front door and looks around, unsure of what to expect.

Shayla appears from the hallway wearing a stylish outfit. She smiles when she sees him, clearly pleased that he came.

SHAYLA: I was wondering when you were going to show up.

Anthony gives her a nervous smile.

ANTHONY: I just wanted to talk to you.

Shayla steps closer, lowering her voice.

SHAYLA: Are you sure that’s the only reason you’re here?

Anthony pauses. For a moment, neither of them says anything. The tension between them becomes obvious.

ANTHONY: Shayla, this is complicated.

SHAYLA: Maybe it doesn’t have to be.

She gestures toward the hallway. Anthony hesitates before following her.

Shayla’s Bedroom — Moments Later

Anthony and Shayla enter the bedroom. The conversation becomes quieter as the door slowly closes behind them. Shayla looks at Anthony, waiting for him to make a decision.

SHAYLA: You knew exactly what you were doing when you came here.

Anthony looks away.

ANTHONY: I know.

Shayla smiles slightly.

SHAYLA: Then stop pretending this means nothing.

Anthony remains silent. The situation is becoming more serious by the second. Neither of them notices what is happening outside.

Outside Shayla’s House — Same Time

A car pulls up outside. Dnisha steps out. She looks toward the house, already suspicious.

DNISHA: Anthony…

She walks quickly toward the front door.

Shayla’s House — Continuous

Dnisha enters and looks around. She hears voices coming from the bedroom. Her expression immediately changes. She walks down the hallway. Each step makes her more suspicious.

She stops directly in front of the bedroom door.

DNISHA: Anthony?

There is no answer. Dnisha reaches for the door handle. She opens it.

Shayla’s Bedroom — Continuous

The door swings open. Anthony and Shayla suddenly turn toward the doorway. Dnisha freezes. Her eyes move from Anthony to Shayla. She cannot believe what she is seeing.

DNISHA: What… are you two doing?

Anthony immediately stands up.

ANTHONY: Dnisha, wait. It’s not what you think.

Dnisha raises her hand, stopping him.

DNISHA: Don’t.

Her voice shakes with anger.

DNISHA: I followed you here because I knew something wasn’t right.

Shayla steps forward.

SHAYLA: Dnisha, you need to calm down.

Dnisha looks directly at her.

DNISHA: You don’t get to tell me to calm down.

Anthony tries to explain.

ANTHONY: I came here to talk.

Dnisha lets out a frustrated laugh.

DNISHA: Talk?

She points toward the room.

DNISHA: Then why were you hiding in here with her?

Anthony struggles to find the right words.

ANTHONY: I made a mistake.

Dnisha’s expression hardens.

DNISHA: A mistake?

She looks at Shayla.

DNISHA: And you knew exactly what you were doing.

Shayla crosses her arms.

SHAYLA: Anthony came here on his own.

Dnisha turns back toward Anthony.

DNISHA: Is that true?

Anthony remains silent. That silence says more than any explanation could. Dnisha shakes her head in disappointment.

DNISHA: I trusted you.

Anthony takes a step toward her.

ANTHONY: Dnisha, please let me explain.

DNISHA: Explain what?

She points directly at him.

DNISHA: You came to Shayla’s house behind my back, went into her bedroom, and expected me never to find out?

Anthony looks down.

ANTHONY: I’m sorry.

Dnisha’s eyes fill with frustration.

DNISHA: Sorry doesn’t fix everything.

Shayla watches the confrontation quietly. Dnisha suddenly turns toward her.

DNISHA: And you…

Shayla looks at her.

DNISHA: You knew Anthony and I had problems, and you still let this happen.

SHAYLA: I didn’t force Anthony to come here.

Dnisha looks at Anthony again.

DNISHA: That’s exactly what I needed to hear.

Anthony realizes the situation is getting worse.

ANTHONY: Dnisha, I never wanted to hurt you.

DNISHA: But you did.

A long silence fills the room. Dnisha takes a deep breath. She points toward Anthony.

DNISHA: You need to decide what you actually want.

Anthony looks at her.

DNISHA: Because I’m not going to stand here and pretend everything is okay.

She turns toward the door. Anthony quickly follows.

ANTHONY: Dnisha, please wait!

Dnisha stops but doesn’t turn around.

DNISHA: You had plenty of chances to be honest with me.

She finally looks back.

DNISHA: You chose to hide the truth.

Anthony has no response. Dnisha walks out of the bedroom. Anthony remains frozen in place. Shayla watches him carefully.

SHAYLA: Anthony…

He doesn’t answer. His eyes remain fixed on the hallway where Dnisha disappeared. The consequences of his choices are finally catching up with him.

Shayla’s House — Hallway — Continuous

Dnisha walks toward the front door, visibly upset. Anthony rushes after her.

ANTHONY: Dnisha, please. Just give me one minute.

She stops.

DNISHA: One minute?

Anthony nods.

ANTHONY: Yes.

Dnisha turns around.

DNISHA: Fine.

She points a finger at him.

DNISHA: Then tell me the truth.

Anthony takes a deep breath. The hallway becomes completely silent. Shayla watches from a distance. Anthony knows that whatever he says next could change everything.

ANTHONY: I don’t know how to explain it.

Dnisha’s expression becomes even more serious.

DNISHA: Then start with the truth.

Anthony looks at her. For the first time that evening, he realizes there is no way to escape the consequences.

FADE OUT.
