DANIEL HANDS BEN OVER TO THE POLICE FOR GETTING LISA PREGNANT — SHE REFUSES TO HEAR HIS EXCUSES!

Daniel stood in the middle of the living room, staring at Ben with a mixture of anger and disappointment. Two police officers waited near the front door, ready to take Ben into custody. Lisa sat quietly on the sofa, her eyes filled with tears, one hand resting over her stomach. Ben kept looking from Lisa to Daniel, desperately hoping someone would give him a chance to explain. But Daniel had already made up her mind.

DANIEL: “You thought you could do whatever you wanted and then walk away like nothing happened? You got Lisa pregnant, Ben! And now you expect everyone to pretend this is perfectly fine?”

BEN: “Daniel, please. Just let me explain what happened. You don’t know the whole story.”

Daniel let out a bitter laugh and shook her head.

DANIEL: “The whole story? Lisa is sitting right there, crying because of what you’ve done, and you’re still standing here making excuses for yourself!”

BEN: “I’m not making excuses! I’m trying to tell you that I never wanted things to end up like this.”

Lisa finally lifted her head. Her expression changed when she heard Ben speak, and she quickly wiped her tears away.

LISA: “Then why didn’t you think about the consequences before? Why did you leave me feeling like I had to face everything alone?”

Ben turned toward her, his face filled with regret.

BEN: “Lisa, I never wanted you to feel alone. I was scared, okay? I didn’t know how to handle everything, and I made mistakes. But I never stopped caring about you.”

LISA: “Caring about me isn’t enough, Ben. I needed you to stand beside me, not make me question whether I could trust you.”

Daniel stepped between them before Ben could continue.

DANIEL: “That’s enough. You’re not going to stand here and use sweet words to convince her to forgive you. She has suffered enough because of you.”

BEN: “You don’t have the right to decide everything for Lisa!”

Daniel’s eyes narrowed.

DANIEL: “And you don’t have the right to tell me how to protect someone I care about. The police are here, and you’re going with them.”

Ben stared at the officers in disbelief. He had expected an argument, perhaps even a warning, but he had never imagined Daniel would actually call the police and have them waiting at the house.

One officer stepped forward.

POLICE OFFICER: “Ben, we need you to come with us. Please cooperate.”

Ben immediately shook his head.

BEN: “Wait! This is a misunderstanding. I haven’t even had a proper chance to talk to Lisa. You can’t just take me away while everyone refuses to hear what I’m saying!”

Daniel pointed toward the door.

DANIEL: “You had your chance to do the right thing. Now you can explain yourself to the proper authorities.”

BEN: “Daniel, please! I’m asking you as a person who knows me. Look me in the eyes and tell me you honestly believe I deserve to be treated like a criminal without even listening to me!”

For a brief moment, Daniel’s expression softened. She remembered the times Ben had visited their home, smiling and acting as though he would always be there for Lisa. But the image of Lisa sitting alone with her worries quickly returned to her mind.

Daniel turned away.

DANIEL: “I don’t want to hear another word from you.”

The officers approached Ben and began escorting him toward the entrance. Ben resisted taking another step, not violently, but because he could not accept that Daniel was determined to shut him out completely.

BEN: “Lisa! Please, say something! You know me better than this. Are you really going to let her send me away without hearing my side?”

Lisa’s lips trembled. She looked at him, struggling between the memories they shared and the hurt she felt now.

LISA: “I don’t know what to believe anymore, Ben. Every time I expect you to make things right, you give me another reason to doubt you.”

BEN: “Then give me one chance to prove myself. Just one. I’m not asking you to forget everything. I’m asking you not to decide that I’m a terrible person before I can explain.”

Daniel immediately turned toward Lisa.

DANIEL: “Don’t let him confuse you. He’s trying to make you feel guilty because he’s finally facing consequences.”

BEN: “I’m not trying to make her feel guilty! I’m trying to talk to the woman whose life is about to change because of something we both have to deal with!”

The room fell silent.

Lisa looked down, absorbing his words. Daniel noticed the hesitation and moved closer to her.

DANIEL: “Lisa, listen to me. You don’t owe him forgiveness just because he’s asking for it now. You deserve honesty, support, and someone who takes responsibility for his actions.”

LISA: “I know, Daniel. But I still have questions. I need answers, and I don’t know how I’m supposed to get them if nobody lets him speak.”

Daniel’s jaw tightened.

DANIEL: “You can get answers later. Right now, I won’t let him pressure you.”

Ben looked at Daniel with disbelief.

BEN: “You’re not protecting her by making every decision for her! You’re taking away her chance to decide what she wants for herself.”

Daniel stepped closer, her voice rising.

DANIEL: “Don’t you dare tell me how to protect Lisa!”

The officers asked Ben to keep moving. This time, he allowed them to guide him toward the doorway, but his eyes never left Lisa.

BEN: “Lisa, whatever happens today, please remember that I wanted to talk to you. I wanted us to figure this out. I never wanted you to feel abandoned.”

Lisa pressed her lips together, unable to answer.

Daniel followed the officers to the entrance, making it clear that she would not change her mind. Ben paused at the threshold and turned around one final time.

BEN: “Daniel, if you really believe you’re doing the right thing, then at least let Lisa hear the truth from me before you decide what happens next.”

DANIEL: “I’ve made my decision. Take him.”

The officers escorted Ben outside. A moment later, the sound of the police vehicle starting echoed through the quiet neighborhood.

Lisa remained on the sofa, staring at the open doorway. Daniel returned to her and sat beside her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

DANIEL: “It’s over for today. You don’t have to deal with him anymore.”

Lisa slowly turned toward her.

LISA: “But what if he was telling the truth about something? What if there’s more I need to know?”

Daniel withdrew her hand.

DANIEL: “Why are you still defending him after everything that’s happened?”

LISA: “I’m not defending him! I’m trying to understand my own life. I’m the one who’s pregnant, Daniel. I’m the one who has to live with whatever happens next. I need you to support me, not decide what I’m allowed to hear.”

Daniel stared at her, surprised by the sudden firmness in Lisa’s voice.

DANIEL: “I’m doing all this because I care about you.”

LISA: “Then please trust me enough to let me make my own decisions.”

Before Daniel could respond, her phone began vibrating on the coffee table. She picked it up and saw an incoming call from an unknown number.

She almost ignored it, but something made her answer.

DANIEL: “Hello?”

A man’s serious voice came through the speaker.

UNKNOWN CALLER: “Is this Daniel? I’m calling about Ben. You need to know that the situation may not be what you think it is.”

Daniel immediately stood up.

DANIEL: “Who is this? What are you talking about?”

UNKNOWN CALLER: “Ben asked me to contact you if he was taken away before he could explain everything to Lisa. There’s something important you haven’t heard.”

Daniel’s face tightened as Lisa rose from the sofa and watched her anxiously.

DANIEL: “Whatever Ben told you, I don’t want to hear his excuses.”

UNKNOWN CALLER: “This isn’t an excuse. It’s about what happened before Lisa discovered she was pregnant. And if you keep refusing to listen, you may end up blaming the wrong person.”

Daniel froze.

Lisa stepped closer, her voice trembling.

LISA: “Daniel, who is that? What did he say?”

Daniel lowered the phone slowly, but before she could answer, the caller spoke again.

UNKNOWN CALLER: “There’s one more thing. Ben wasn’t the only person who knew about Lisa’s pregnancy before you did.”

Daniel’s eyes widened.

Across the room, Lisa went completely still.

LISA: “What does that mean?”

Daniel raised the phone back to her ear, her anger giving way to uncertainty for the first time.

DANIEL: “Tell me exactly who knew—and don’t leave anything out.”
