🎬 Scene 1 — Wayne Has a Surprise for Dave
The afternoon begins quietly at Wayne’s office. Dave is busy dealing with business matters when Wayne suddenly tells him that he has decided to send someone to help him. Dave looks surprised when Wayne explains that a new personal assistant will be working with him.
Wayne believes Dave has too much responsibility and needs someone organized enough to keep everything under control. Dave is initially unsure because he never asked for an assistant, but Wayne insists that the decision has already been made.

“Dave, you have too much going on. You need someone who can help you stay organized.”
DAVE:

“Yes. I wanted to understand what you needed before I started.”

“You’re very different from Amber. You’re organized, focused, and you actually listen.”
ASSISTANT:

“Thank you… but should we go over tomorrow’s meetings?”
DAVE:
“We can do that later.”
The assistant becomes uncomfortable and reminds Dave that she wants to keep their relationship professional.

Later, Dave asks the assistant to come into a private room to discuss some business matters. She enters expecting a normal work conversation.
Instead, Dave begins talking about how much he appreciates having her around. The assistant thanks him for the opportunity, but she notices that Dave is standing much closer than necessary.
ASSISTANT:
“Dave, is this about work?”
DAVE:
“I just think we’ve gotten comfortable around each other.”
ASSISTANT:
“I don’t want there to be any misunderstanding. I’m here to work.”
Dave pauses, but before the conversation can continue, something completely unexpected happens.

The office door suddenly opens.
Amber is standing at the door.
She immediately notices the unusual situation between Dave and his assistant. Her expression changes from confusion to anger.
AMBER:
“Dave?”
DAVE:
“Amber! What are you doing here?”
AMBER:
“I came to see you. But now I’m wondering what exactly I walked into.”
The assistant immediately steps back and explains that Dave asked her to come in to discuss work. Amber tells her that she is not blaming her. Her problem is with Dave.

Amber turns directly toward Dave. She is angry and disappointed because she believes he has allowed the situation to go far beyond a normal professional relationship.
AMBER:
“Do you do this with every woman who walks into your office?”
DAVE:
“Amber, you’re misunderstanding what happened.”
AMBER:
“Then explain it to me.”
AMBER:
“You’re cheating on me!”
Dave is left speechless. The assistant decides that the best thing she can do is leave the room and give them privacy.
