Amber Confronts Wayne, Then Dave Sets the Record Straight
The Confrontation With Wayne
Amber was already upset about Dave’s new assistant, and she wanted answers.
Instead of waiting for Dave to explain the situation, she decided to go
directly to Wayne.
When Amber arrived at Wayne’s place, she immediately confronted him about
Dave’s new assistant.
“Wayne, I need to know something. Why did you find Dave a new assistant?”
Wayne looked surprised. “Amber, why are you asking me about Dave’s assistant?”
“Because I know you had something to do with it. Why would you get involved
in Dave’s business and help him hire someone new?”
Wayne tried to keep the conversation calm. He explained that he and Dave
had a business relationship and that he was simply trying to help.
Amber, however, was not satisfied with his explanation.
“But why did you think you needed to do that? Nobody asked you to make
decisions about his business.”
Wayne replied, “Amber, I understand you’re upset, but this is something
you need to discuss with Dave.”
Amber made her feelings clear before leaving. She believed Wayne should
not have become involved in Dave’s business decisions without considering
how the situation could affect everyone.
Wayne Calls Dave
After Amber left, Wayne realized that Dave needed to know what had happened.
He did not want Dave to hear the story from someone else, so he decided
to call him immediately.
“Hey, Wayne. What’s going on?” Dave asked.
“Dave, I wanted to let you know something before you hear it from somebody
else. Amber came over here.”
Dave paused. “Amber came to see you?”
“Yeah. She came over because she was upset about the new assistant.
She asked me why I helped you find someone and why I got involved in
your business.”
Dave immediately became frustrated when he heard that Amber had gone
directly to Wayne.
“She actually came to you about that?”
“She did,” Wayne explained. “I just wanted you to know exactly what happened.
I didn’t want there to be any misunderstanding between us.”
Dave replied, “Thanks for telling me. I’ll handle it.”
Dave Confronts Amber
Later that evening, Amber returned home expecting things to be normal.
But as soon as she walked through the door, she could tell Dave was waiting
to speak with her.
Dave looked at her seriously. “Amber, we need to talk.”
Amber immediately realized what the conversation was about.
“About Wayne?”
“Yes,” Dave replied. “Why did you go to Wayne?”
Amber answered, “Because I had questions. You got a new assistant,
and Wayne was involved. I wanted to know why.”
Dave explained that Amber should have come directly to him instead of
confronting Wayne about his business decisions.
“Amber, that is between me and Wayne. Wayne and I have a business
relationship, and how we handle business decisions is something you
need to stay out of.”
Amber replied, “I was only asking a question.”
Dave responded, “But you went directly to Wayne. You didn’t come to me first.”
Amber became defensive, explaining that she simply wanted an explanation.
Dave told her that she could always discuss her concerns with him, but
she could not interfere with his business relationships.
“You have every right to ask me questions. But you don’t have the right
to interfere with my business relationships.”
Amber looked frustrated. She still did not understand why Dave was making
such a serious issue out of the situation.
“I just don’t like the situation,” Amber said.
Dave replied, “You can tell me that. You can tell me you’re uncomfortable.
You can tell me you don’t like the assistant. But you cannot go around
confronting people about my business.”
Dave Draws a Clear Boundary
Dave then made his position completely clear. He told Amber that from
that point forward, she needed to stay away from his business dealings
with Wayne.
“From now on, stay out of my business dealings with Wayne. If you have
a problem with something involving my business, come to me.”
Dave also addressed the new assistant directly.
“And there’s something else. You are not going to say anything to my assistant.”
Amber looked surprised. “I wasn’t planning to do anything.”
“I’m making sure that is clear,” Dave said. “My assistant works for me.
Whatever issues you have with me, you need to keep them separate from
the people I work with.”
Amber admitted that she felt like nobody was listening to her. Dave
assured her that he was listening, but he also made it clear that
listening did not mean allowing her to control his business.
“I am listening. But listening to you doesn’t mean I’m going to let you
control my business.”
Amber finally realized how serious Dave was. He wanted a clear separation
between their personal relationship and his business decisions.
“You need to stay out of my business matters. You don’t need to go to
Wayne about them, and you don’t need to confront my assistant. If
something bothers you, come directly to me.”
Amber asked, “And what happens if I don’t?”
Dave answered firmly, “I’m telling you this because I want to avoid a
bigger problem. Stay out of my business dealings. It will be better
for everyone.”
A New Tension Begins
The room became quiet. Amber had gone to Wayne expecting answers, but
instead she ended up facing an even bigger confrontation at home.
She finally told Dave that she understood what he was saying. Dave
nodded, hoping the issue would end there.
But the tension between them remained. Amber knew Dave had drawn a
clear boundary, while Dave knew the situation could create even more
problems if she continued getting involved.
Somewhere in the middle of the conflict was Wayne, who had only intended
to help Dave with his business. Now, however, the new assistant had
become the center of a much bigger disagreement.
Amber walked away quietly, but her expression made it clear that she
was still thinking about everything Dave had said. Dave knew this was
no longer just about a new assistant. It was about trust, boundaries,
and whether Amber could respect the separation between Dave’s personal
life and his business.
