SCENE 1 — WAYNE’S PODCAST OFFICE — EVENING
The podcast studio is unusually quiet.
Wayne sits across from Anthony, his expression serious. Anthony watches him carefully, waiting to hear what is going through his mind.
Wayne leans back in his chair.
WAYNE
Our plan isn’t finished yet.
Anthony looks surprised.
ANTHONY
What do you mean?
Wayne slowly shakes his head.
WAYNE
I mean exactly what I said. We still have one more thing to handle.
Anthony folds his arms.
ANTHONY
I thought everything was already taken care of.
Wayne gives him a serious look.
WAYNE
You thought wrong.
A long silence fills the room.
Anthony looks toward the studio door before turning back to Wayne.
ANTHONY
So what’s the next move?
Wayne reaches for his phone.
WAYNE
I’ve already made the decision.
Wayne makes a call to his assistant.
ASSISTANT
Hello?
WAYNE
I need you to go to Dave’s house. I need you to be careful and don’t draw attention to yourself.
ASSISTANT
Okay.
The call ends.
Anthony immediately looks at Wayne.
ANTHONY
Wayne… what did you just send her to do?
Wayne puts his phone down.
WAYNE
Something that needs to happen.
SCENE 2 — DAVE’S HOUSE — NIGHT
The house is quiet.
Amber is inside her bedroom, sitting comfortably and looking through her phone. She has no idea that someone has arrived at the house.
The assistant quietly enters.
Amber looks up.
AMBER
What are you doing here?
ASSISTANT
I just wanted to bring you something.
The assistant places a glass of water nearby.
Amber looks at it.
AMBER
Okay…
The assistant remains unusually quiet.
Amber reaches for the glass and drinks.
At first, everything seems normal.
Then Amber suddenly pauses.
AMBER
Wait… I don’t feel right.
Amber tries to stand, but becomes weak and confused.
Her phone slips from her hand and falls to the floor.
Amber eventually loses consciousness.
The assistant stands nearby, appearing satisfied with what has happened.
Suddenly, a car door closes outside.
The assistant freezes.
SCENE 3 — DAVE ARRIVES HOME
Dave walks through the front door and sets his keys down.
DAVE
Amber?
No answer.
DAVE
Amber, I’m home!
Dave starts walking through the house.
He reaches the bedroom and pushes the door open.
His face immediately changes.
Amber is lying unconscious.
DAVE
AMBER!
Dave rushes toward her.
DAVE
Amber! Hey! Wake up!
There is no response.
Dave looks terrified and immediately calls for emergency help.
DAVE
Something happened to Amber! I need help!
He looks back at her with tears in his eyes.
DAVE
Please wake up.
SCENE 4 — DAVE DISCOVERS THE TRUTH
Dave suddenly notices the assistant standing nearby.
DAVE
You!
The assistant freezes.
DAVE
What are you doing here?
The assistant struggles to answer.
ASSISTANT
I…
DAVE
Why are you in my house?
She looks away.
DAVE
Did you see what happened to Amber?
The assistant remains silent.
Dave realizes something is seriously wrong.
DAVE
You know something.
Dave looks at her carefully.
DAVE
Who sent you?
The assistant doesn’t answer.
Dave’s expression becomes more suspicious.
DAVE
Was it Wayne?
The assistant looks shocked.
Dave realizes that his suspicion may be correct.
SCENE 5 — WAYNE’S OFFICE
Wayne is still with Anthony.
ANTHONY
Did she call you back?
WAYNE
Not yet.
ANTHONY
You don’t think something went wrong?
WAYNE
She knows what she’s doing.
Anthony looks increasingly uncomfortable.
ANTHONY
I don’t like this.
WAYNE
You were with me when we made the plan.
ANTHONY
That doesn’t mean I expected this.
Wayne’s phone suddenly rings.
Both men look at the phone.
Wayne answers.
WAYNE
Hello?
He listens carefully.
His expression suddenly changes.
WAYNE
What happened?
Anthony watches him nervously.
Wayne ends the call.
WAYNE
We have a problem.
THE TRUTH IS ABOUT TO COME OUT
Dave remains beside Amber, waiting for help to arrive.
The assistant stands frozen near the doorway.
Dave looks at her with anger and disbelief.
DAVE
Whatever you came here to do, you knew something was going to happen.
The assistant remains silent.
DAVE
Whoever sent you needs to answer for this.
