Mariah notices that the atmosphere seems unusually positive. She stays close to Isaiah and enjoys the attention he gives her. The twins, however, seem to have another plan. Although they laugh along with the conversation, they keep exchanging knowing looks, as if they are waiting for the perfect moment to bring up a sensitive subject.
2. The Twins Bring Up Brooke
Without warning, one of the twins mentions Brooke’s name. The conversation immediately becomes more serious. She looks directly at Isaiah and asks whether he ever thinks about Brooke anymore. Isaiah’s smile fades slightly, but he does not respond.
The second twin quickly joins in. She reminds Isaiah that Brooke may feel ignored or taken for granted. She says that he cannot simply accept Brooke’s help and then behave as if she does not matter. Their comments are sharp, and although they present them as jokes, the meaning behind their words is obvious.
Isaiah shifts uncomfortably. He looks down, checks his phone, and tries to change the subject. But the twins continue, asking whether he feels guilty and whether he thinks Brooke deserves an explanation.
3. Isaiah’s Uncomfortable Silence
The group’s laughter slowly disappears. Isaiah remains quiet, trapped between defending himself and admitting that the twins’ questions have affected him. His silence makes the moment even more awkward. He knows that Brooke’s name carries emotional weight, especially because money and trust are involved.
The twins watch his reaction carefully. They do not need a long answer to understand that something is bothering him. One of them raises an eyebrow, while the other gives a small, teasing smile. Isaiah finally says that everything is fine, but his voice lacks confidence.

The twins cannot resist making another provocative comment. One of them looks at Mariah, who is still standing close to Isaiah, and says that Isaiah is probably thinking about Brooke even while Mariah is holding him.
The second twin adds that perhaps he misses Brooke more than he wants to admit. Their words are designed to create tension, and they watch Isaiah’s face for a reaction.
Isaiah does not openly agree, but his silence becomes suspicious. He looks away and gives a small, uncertain nod-like movement. It may have been accidental, but Mariah interprets it as confirmation.
Her expression changes immediately. The happiness disappears from her face, replaced by anger and disappointment. She steps away from Isaiah and demands to know why Brooke is being discussed while they are spending time together.

“How can you think about Brooke while I am right here with you?” Mariah asks. Her voice rises as she struggles to control her emotions. She reminds Isaiah that she came to enjoy the day with him, not to feel like a second choice in someone else’s story.
