Will Brooke Still Find a Way to Go to Pulley and See Isaiah?

SCENE 1 — Bethany Confronts Larry

The house is quiet, but the tension between Bethany and Larry is impossible to ignore. Bethany stands in front of Larry, frustrated by everything happening with Brooke.

BETHANY

“You have absolutely no control over Brooke. You have zero control over her. That’s why you can’t even stop Brooke from going to see Isaiah.”

Larry looks at Bethany in disbelief. Her words immediately get under his skin.

BETHANY

“She does whatever she wants. If Brooke decides she’s going to Pulley, you can’t stop her.”

Larry takes a deep breath. His expression becomes serious.

LARRY

“You really think I have no control over the situation?”

BETHANY

“That’s exactly what I think.”
Larry decides that he is going to confront Brooke and prove to Bethany that he can stop the situation from getting out of control.

LARRY

“Okay. Now I’m going to stop Brooke and show you that I can control this situation.”

SCENE 2 — Larry Goes to Sharra’s House

Larry heads straight to Sharra’s house. When he arrives, he finds Brooke preparing for her trip to Pulley. Her plans are already made, and she clearly intends to see Isaiah.

LARRY

“Brooke, come here. We need to talk.”

BROOKE

“What happened?”

Larry looks toward Brooke’s travel belongings before speaking firmly.

LARRY

“Brooke, you are not going to Pulley.”

BROOKE

“What? Why can’t I go?”

LARRY

“Because I said you’re not going. You’re staying here.”

Brooke becomes confused and frustrated because she does not understand why Larry has suddenly changed his approach.

SCENE 3 — Brooke Refuses to Back Down

BROOKE

“I don’t understand why you’re doing this. I want to go see Isaiah.”

LARRY

“Brooke, I already told you. You’re staying here.”

Brooke shakes her head. She is clearly unwilling to accept Larry’s decision.

BROOKE

“Why are you making this decision for me?”

LARRY

“Because I’m your father, and I’m telling you that you’re not going.”

BROOKE

“I’m going.”

LARRY

“Brooke, don’t argue with me.”

BROOKE

“I’m going no matter what!”

The room suddenly becomes tense. Larry realizes that Brooke is not backing down.

SCENE 4 — Larry Takes the Passport and Ticket

Larry becomes angry. He reaches for Brooke’s travel documents. Brooke tries to hold onto them because she does not want to give up on her trip.

BROOKE

“Larry, no! Give them back!”

Larry takes the ticket and passport and holds onto them. Brooke immediately becomes emotional.

BROOKE

“Those are mine. Please give them back.”

LARRY

“I already told you that you’re not going.”

Tears begin to fall as Brooke realizes that Larry is serious about stopping her trip.

Brooke is devastated, but Larry refuses to change his decision. He turns around and leaves with her passport and ticket.

SCENE 5 — Brooke Breaks Down

Brooke remains in the room, crying after Larry walks away. Sharra soon notices that something is wrong and comes over to her.

SHARRA

“Brooke, what happened?”

BROOKE

“Larry took my passport and ticket.”

SHARRA

“He took them?”

BROOKE

“He said I’m not allowed to go to Pulley.”

Sharra tries to calm Brooke down and encourages her not to make an impulsive decision while she is upset.

SHARRA

“Don’t panic. We’ll figure out what to do.”

BROOKE

“I really wanted to see Isaiah.”

SCENE 6 — Larry Returns Home

Larry returns home carrying Brooke’s passport and ticket. Bethany notices the documents and immediately realizes that something serious has happened.

BETHANY

“What happened?”

LARRY

“I told Brooke she isn’t going to Pulley.”

BETHANY

“And she listened?”

LARRY

“She didn’t want to listen.”

BETHANY

“So what did you do?”

LARRY

“I took the ticket and passport.”

Bethany becomes quiet. She realizes that Larry took her earlier words very seriously.

SCENE 7 — Bethany Questions Larry

BETHANY

“Larry, taking her passport and ticket isn’t going to solve everything.”

LARRY

“You told me I had zero control over Brooke.”

BETHANY

“I said you needed to handle the situation. I didn’t say you should make Brooke cry.”

Larry looks away. For the first time, he begins thinking about Brooke’s reaction. He remembers how emotional she became when he took the documents.

LARRY

“She needs to understand that she can’t just do whatever she wants.”

BETHANY

“But she’s upset now. You need to talk to her instead of just making the decision for her.”

SCENE 8 — Brooke Makes a Decision

Back at Sharra’s house, Brooke slowly stops crying. Although she is still upset, she becomes determined to have another conversation with Larry.

BROOKE

“I’m not giving up.”

SHARRA

“What are you thinking?”

BROOKE

“I don’t know yet. But I’m going to find a way to talk to Larry.”

SHARRA

“That’s the right place to start.”

Brooke looks toward the window, thinking about Isaiah, Pulley, and everything that has happened that day.

SCENE 9 — The Big Question

Later that evening, Larry sits alone with Brooke’s passport and ticket. His anger has started to fade, and he begins thinking about whether his decision was the right way to handle the situation.

LARRY

“Maybe I went too far.”

Larry knows Brooke is upset, but he still believes he needs to set boundaries. Meanwhile, Brooke is determined to get an explanation from him.

The conflict between Larry, Brooke, Bethany, and Sharra is far from over. Everyone now has a different view of what should happen next.

Bethany wonders whether her words pushed Larry into making a decision he may later regret. Sharra wants Brooke to stay calm and talk through the situation. Brooke, however, still wants to see Isaiah.

“Larry wanted to prove that he could stop Brooke from going to Pulley. But after taking her passport and ticket, he may have created an even bigger problem.”
