THE CONFRONTATION: ANTHONY STANDS UP FOR D’NISHA

A dramatic story of love, conflict, and an unexpected confrontation

SCENE 1 — D’NISHA’S HOUSE

The afternoon is quiet. D’Nisha is inside her home, trying to keep her mind calm after everything that has happened. Suddenly, there is a knock at the door.

D’Nisha opens the door and is surprised to see Kai’s father standing outside.

D’NISHA
Why are you here?

Kai’s father looks at her seriously. He speaks as though he has already made a decision for both of them.

KAI’S FATHER
D’Nisha, you are my wife, and you are the mother of my son. I have come here to take you with me.

D’Nisha immediately becomes uncomfortable and takes a small step backward.

D’NISHA
No. I’m not going anywhere with you.

KAI’S FATHER
What do you mean? You are my wife. You belong with me.

D’NISHA
I don’t want to go with you. You did not treat me well. You hurt me, and I have already made my decision. I don’t want to live like that anymore.

SCENE 2 — D’NISHA REFUSES

Kai’s father refuses to leave. D’Nisha moves toward the door and firmly asks him to go.

D’NISHA
Please leave my house.

KAI’S FATHER
No. You’re coming with me.

D’NISHA
I already told you that I don’t want to go.

Kai’s father becomes frustrated because D’Nisha refuses to change her mind.

KAI’S FATHER
You don’t get to decide this by yourself.

D’NISHA
Yes, I do. I can decide where I want to live and who I want to be with.

Kai’s father attempts to make D’Nisha leave with him. D’Nisha pulls away and tries to create distance.

D’NISHA
Stop! I said I’m not going with you!

The tension inside the house continues to rise.

SCENE 3 — ANTHONY ARRIVES

At that exact moment, Anthony arrives nearby. As he approaches the house, he hears the argument and immediately realizes that something is wrong.

ANTHONY
D’Nisha?

Anthony walks toward the house and sees Kai’s father refusing to respect D’Nisha’s decision. Anthony becomes extremely angry and steps between them.

ANTHONY
What is going on here?

KAI’S FATHER
This has nothing to do with you. Stay out of it.

ANTHONY
It has everything to do with me when you are refusing to respect her decision.

D’Nisha stands behind Anthony, visibly shaken.

D’NISHA
Anthony, I told him I don’t want to go with him, but he won’t listen.

ANTHONY
You heard her. She said no.

SCENE 4 — THE ARGUMENT ESCALATES

Kai’s father becomes angry and challenges Anthony.

KAI’S FATHER
You think you can come here and tell me what to do?

ANTHONY
I’m telling you to respect D’Nisha’s decision.

KAI’S FATHER
This is between me and my wife.

D’NISHA
No. It stopped being just between us when you refused to listen to me.

Anthony looks back at D’Nisha.

ANTHONY
Are you sure you don’t want to go with him?

D’NISHA
Yes. I don’t want to go anywhere with him.

ANTHONY
Then you’re not going anywhere.

Kai’s father tries to move forward again, but Anthony blocks his path.

ANTHONY
Stay away from D’Nisha.

SCENE 5 — ANTHONY PROTECTS D’NISHA

The confrontation becomes physical. Anthony strikes Kai’s father once and moves him away from D’Nisha.

D’Nisha looks shocked by what has happened.

D’NISHA
Anthony!

Anthony immediately turns toward D’Nisha.

ANTHONY
Are you okay?

D’NISHA
Yes.

Anthony then turns back toward Kai’s father.

ANTHONY
Listen carefully. D’Nisha has already told you that she does not want to go with you. You need to respect her decision.

KAI’S FATHER
You can’t keep me away from my wife.

ANTHONY
I’m not keeping you away from anyone. She is making her own choice.

D’Nisha steps forward.

D’NISHA
That’s right. I don’t want to go with you. I don’t want to continue this relationship the way it has been. You need to accept that.

SCENE 6 — D’NISHA MAKES HER DECISION

Kai’s father becomes quiet. For the first time, he realizes that D’Nisha is not changing her mind.

KAI’S FATHER
So you’re really choosing to stay here?

D’NISHA
I’m choosing myself.

Her words leave everyone silent.

D’NISHA
I spent too much time trying to make things work while feeling unhappy. I don’t want to keep repeating the same cycle.

D’NISHA
I want peace.

ANTHONY
Then you deserve the chance to have it.

SCENE 7 — KAI’S FATHER LEAVES

After several tense moments, Kai’s father finally takes a step backward.

KAI’S FATHER
This isn’t over.

ANTHONY
You need to leave now.

D’Nisha looks at Kai’s father.

D’NISHA
Please go. We can deal with everything through a calm and proper conversation later.

Kai’s father eventually walks away. D’Nisha watches him leave and slowly exhales.

ANTHONY
D’Nisha, are you okay?

D’NISHA
I’m okay now.

ANTHONY
You shouldn’t have had to go through that.

D’NISHA
Thank you for coming when you did.

SCENE 8 — A NEW QUESTION

Anthony looks toward the direction where Kai’s father disappeared. His expression remains serious.

ANTHONY
I just don’t understand why he thinks he can make decisions for you.

D’NISHA
Sometimes people don’t accept that things have changed.

ANTHONY
But things have changed.

D’NISHA
Yes. They have.

Anthony realizes that the situation may not be finished.

ANTHONY
If he comes back, don’t deal with him alone. Make sure someone else is around.

D’NISHA
I will.

SCENE 9 — THE UNEXPECTED CALL

Later that evening, D’Nisha’s phone suddenly rings. She looks at the screen.

It is an unknown number.

D’NISHA
Who is calling me now?

ANTHONY
Don’t answer if you’re uncomfortable.

D’Nisha hesitates. The phone continues ringing. Finally, she answers.

D’NISHA
Hello?

There is silence on the other end.

D’NISHA
Who is this?

She listens for a few seconds. Her eyes suddenly widen.

D’NISHA
What?

Anthony immediately notices her worried expression.

ANTHONY
What happened?

D’Nisha slowly lowers the phone.

D’NISHA
Anthony… you’re not going to believe who just called me.

ANTHONY
Who?

D’NISHA
It was Kai’s father.

ANTHONY
What did he say?

D’Nisha looks toward the door with a worried expression.

D’NISHA
He said he wants to come back.

Anthony becomes serious again. He realizes the confrontation may only have been the beginning.

ANTHONY
Then we need to be ready for whatever happens next.

D’Nisha remains silent. The camera slowly pulls away from the house as the night becomes quiet, but the tension remains.
