Bethany’s Secret Call — Larry Hears Everything!
A dramatic confrontation that changes everything.
SCENE 1 — LARRY AND BETHANY’S HOUSE
The house is unusually quiet. Larry is sitting in the living room, looking through his phone, while Bethany walks toward him with a serious expression. She stops in front of him, clearly wanting to discuss something important.
BETHANY
“Larry, I want to talk to you about something.”
Larry looks up from his phone and notices the serious expression on Bethany’s face.
LARRY
“What’s going on?”
Bethany takes a deep breath before explaining what she wants.
BETHANY
“I want to meet Sharra’s mother.”
Larry looks surprised by the request.
LARRY
“Sharra’s mother?”
Bethany nods.
BETHANY
“Yes. I want to see her and talk to her myself. There are some things I need to ask her.”
Larry thinks about it for a moment before agreeing.
LARRY
“Okay. If that’s what you want, I’ll take you with me.”
Bethany gives him a small smile.
BETHANY
“Thank you, Larry. I appreciate it.”
Larry walks away, unaware that Bethany has another plan in mind.
SCENE 2 — BETHANY MAKES A SECRET CALL
Later that day, Larry leaves the room to take care of something around the house. Bethany watches him disappear down the hallway.
She waits quietly for a few moments.
Then she takes out her phone.
Bethany looks around to make sure Larry is not nearby before making a call.
BETHANY
“Hello? I need to give you some information.”
Her voice is low and serious.
BETHANY
“I know where Sharra’s mother is.”
Bethany listens carefully to the person on the other end.
BETHANY
“Yes. I know where she is after she left.”
Her expression becomes more determined.
BETHANY
“I want you to arrest her. I can send you the location.”
Bethany continues speaking quietly, believing that Larry has no idea what she is doing.
BETHANY
“I’ll send you the location as soon as I can.”
She ends the call.
But Bethany does not realize that Larry has already returned.
SCENE 3 — LARRY HEARS EVERYTHING
Larry is standing just outside the room.
He heard the entire conversation.
For a moment, Larry says nothing. He simply looks at Bethany with a serious expression.
Bethany slowly turns around.
She suddenly sees Larry standing there.
Bethany freezes in shock.
BETHANY
“Larry…”
Larry remains silent for a moment.
LARRY
“What was that?”
Bethany tries to stay calm.
BETHANY
“What do you mean?”
Larry looks directly at her.
LARRY
“I heard the whole conversation.”
Bethany’s expression immediately changes.
She realizes that her secret is no longer a secret.
SCENE 4 — THE CONFRONTATION
Larry looks disappointed and confused.
LARRY
“You told me you wanted to meet Sharra’s mother.”
Bethany remains quiet.
LARRY
“You made it sound like you simply wanted to talk to her.”
Bethany looks down.
LARRY
“But you weren’t planning to just talk to her, were you?”
Bethany finally looks back at him.
BETHANY
“Larry, please listen to me.”
Larry raises his hand slightly, asking her to stop.
LARRY
“No. You listen to me.”
His voice remains controlled, but his disappointment is obvious.
LARRY
“You told me one thing because you wanted me to take you there. Then, behind my back, you called the police.”
Bethany tries to explain herself.
BETHANY
“I was only trying to do what I thought was right.”
SCENE 5 — BETHANY TRIES TO EXPLAIN
Larry looks at Bethany, waiting for an honest explanation.
LARRY
“Then why didn’t you tell me?”
Bethany struggles to answer.
BETHANY
“Because I knew you wouldn’t agree with me.”
Larry shakes his head.
LARRY
“And now you understand why.”
Bethany looks frustrated.
BETHANY
“She left, Larry. If I know where she is, why shouldn’t the police know?”
Larry takes a deep breath.
LARRY
“That’s not the point.”
BETHANY
“Then what is the point?”
Larry looks directly at her.
LARRY
“The point is that you lied to me.”
Bethany becomes quiet.
SCENE 6 — LARRY CHANGES HIS MIND
Larry walks toward the window and takes a moment to think. Bethany watches him carefully.
Finally, Larry turns back toward her.
LARRY
“So this is why you kept saying you wanted to meet Sharra’s mother?”
Bethany nods slowly.
BETHANY
“I wanted to talk to her, but I also wanted the police to know where she was.”
Larry shakes his head.
LARRY
“Now I understand.”
Bethany steps closer.
BETHANY
“Larry, please don’t be angry.”
Larry looks at her seriously.
LARRY
“I’m not going to argue with you.”
He pauses.
LARRY
“But I’m also not taking you with me anymore.”
Bethany looks shocked.
BETHANY
“What?”
LARRY
“You heard me.”
SCENE 7 — BETHANY IS SHOCKED
Bethany follows Larry as he begins walking away.
BETHANY
“Larry, wait!”
Larry stops but does not turn around.
BETHANY
“You promised you would take me.”
Larry finally turns around.
LARRY
“I agreed because I thought you wanted to meet her and have a conversation.”
He pauses before continuing.
LARRY
“Now I know the real reason.”
Bethany looks frustrated and emotional.
BETHANY
“I was trying to protect everyone.”
Larry looks at her for a moment.
LARRY
“Then you should have been honest with me from the beginning.”
Bethany has no response.
Larry walks away, leaving her standing alone.
SCENE 8 — THE SECRET CHANGES EVERYTHING
Bethany looks down at her phone. The plan she thought she could carry out quietly has now been exposed.
She looks toward the hallway where Larry disappeared.
BETHANY
“What have I done?”
Meanwhile, Larry sits in another room, thinking about everything he just heard.
He knows Bethany contacted the police. He also knows she claims to know where Sharra’s mother is.
The situation is now much more complicated than it was before.
Larry picks up his phone but stops before making a call.
He appears unsure about what he should do next.
