Scene 1: Shayla Confronts Anthony About Baby Kai

Anthony’s hotel room, day

Anthony is reviewing business papers in his hotel room when his phone rings. It is Shayla.

SHAYLA“Why haven’t you prepared Baby Kai’s room yet? And why haven’t you brought him back from boarding school?”

ANTHONY“I’m away on a business trip. Once I return, I’ll bring Kai back and we’ll figure everything out.”

Shayla is tired of excuses. She tells him that Kai should not have to wait because Anthony cannot get his priorities straight. Anthony keeps repeating that he will handle it later, and her suspicion grows.

SHAYLA“I don’t believe you. I think this business trip is just an excuse to spend time with D’Nisha!”

ANTHONY“Believe whatever you want, Shayla. I’m not spending the whole day arguing.”

He ends the call before she can answer.

Scene 2: Shayla Accuses Anthony of Neglecting Kai

Shayla’s house, afternoon

Shayla paces her living room, replaying the call. What hurts most is the thought that Anthony may be with D’Nisha instead of getting things ready for his son.

SHAYLA“If he really cared about Kai, he would make sure everything was ready. I don’t care what Anthony does with his personal life, but when it comes to Kai, he needs to act like a responsible father.”

Meanwhile, Anthony decides D’Nisha should know what Shayla has been saying.

Scene 3: Anthony Tells D’Nisha Everything

Hotel lounge, later that afternoon

D’Nisha notices at once that Anthony looks irritated.

ANTHONY“Shayla called. She questioned me about Kai’s room, accused me of lying about my trip, and said I’m only here to be with you.”

D’NISHA“So now she’s accusing us of not caring about the baby? I haven’t done anything to her.”

D’Nisha decides she will not be talked about behind her back.

D’NISHA“I’m going to call her. If she has something to say about me, she can say it directly.”

ANTHONY“Just be careful. I don’t want this to get worse.”

She dials Shayla’s number anyway.

Scene 4: D’Nisha Calls Shayla and Demands Answers

Hotel lounge, continuous

Shayla sees D’Nisha’s name on her screen and answers, already expecting a fight.

D’NISHA“Why are you going around saying that Anthony and I don’t care about Baby Kai?”

SHAYLA“Did I lie? He makes excuses about Kai’s room, but he has plenty of time for you.”

D’NISHA“If you have a problem with Anthony, take it up with him. Why are you dragging me into this?”

SHAYLA“Because you’re always around him!”

D’NISHA“The only reason I’m putting up with this is that you’re Baby Kai’s mother. You need to learn when to stop talking.”

D’Nisha ends the call. Anthony asks if she really had to hang up like that. She says she will not sit there and be insulted, and he stays silent, knowing the conflict is far from over.

Scene 5: Shayla Refuses to Back Down

Shayla’s house, evening

Shayla cannot believe D’Nisha spoke to her that way and then hung up.

SHAYLA“I’m Kai’s mother. I have every right to ask questions about his father and what’s happening in his life.”

Her worry is still for Kai, but her anger at D’Nisha has become personal. She grabs her purse and decides to go and see D’Nisha in person.

SHAYLA“If she wants to talk so boldly on the phone, let’s see if she has the same attitude when I’m standing right in front of her.”

Scene 6: Shayla Shows Up at D’Nisha’s House

D’Nisha’s house, evening

D’Nisha is trying to relax when someone knocks. She opens the door and finds Shayla standing there.

SHAYLA“I’m not finished talking to you.”

D’NISHA“Well, I’m finished. You accused me of not caring about Kai, and now you expect me to welcome you?”

SHAYLA“Ever since you’ve been spending time with Anthony, he has an excuse for everything!”

D’NISHA“You’re standing in my house. Leave before this gets worse.”

SHAYLA“Make me! And if I don’t?”

D’NISHA“One last chance.”

SHAYLA“Or what?”

For a brief moment, neither woman moves. Then D’Nisha loses her temper.

Scene 7: D’Nisha Punches Shayla

D’Nisha’s house, continuous

D’Nisha steps forward and punches Shayla. Shayla stumbles back, one hand rising to her face.

SHAYLA“Oh my God! Did you seriously just punch me?”

D’NISHA“Maybe now you’ll understand you need to stop talking to me like that! Anthony is my man, and he can do whatever he wants. What does that have to do with you?”

SHAYLA“Baby Kai is involved too! You can’t ignore that because you want to be with him!”

D’Nisha takes a breath and tells her to get out. Shayla goes to the door, her shock turning to anger.

SHAYLA“You’re going to regret this, D’Nisha. This conversation is not over.”

The door slams. D’Nisha believes she has made her point, but she has no idea how much worse things could get once Anthony learns what happened.

Scene 8: Shayla Plans Her Next Move

Outside D’Nisha’s house, evening

Shayla walks away, shaken. Her first instinct is to call Anthony, but she hesitates. He might defend D’Nisha and dismiss her again.

SHAYLA“I can’t believe she actually punched me. Anthony needs to know. He can keep making excuses for her, but he can’t pretend everything is fine after this.”

Inside, D’Nisha reads a message from Anthony asking if she is home. For the first time, she wonders what he will say when he finds out how far the argument went.

D’NISHA“Shayla brought this on herself. I told her to leave, and she refused.”

Scene 9: Anthony’s Next Move

Anthony’s hotel room, night

Anthony sits on the edge of his bed, hoping both women have calmed down. His phone rings. It is Shayla.

SHAYLA“Something happened between me and D’Nisha. I went to see her, and she got so angry that she punched me!”

ANTHONY“Wait. You went to D’Nisha’s house? Why did you go there? I told you I didn’t want this to become a bigger problem.”

SHAYLA“So now you’re blaming me? She punched me, and you’re asking why I went there?”

ANTHONY“Let me talk to D’Nisha, and then we’ll figure out what to do.”

SHAYLA“You always want to hear her side before you take mine seriously. Fine. Talk to her. But don’t pretend later that you didn’t know.”

She hangs up. Anthony stares at his phone, deeply troubled. He had hoped the disagreement would end with a phone call, but now it has become a full confrontation.
