SHAYLA GETS KICKED OUT

A Dramatic Cinematic Screenplay

SCENE 1 — ANTHONY’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON

The house is unusually quiet. Anthony stands in the living room, looking through his phone. His expression is serious and distracted.

A sudden knock comes from the front door.

Anthony looks toward the entrance. Before he can react, the door opens.

SHAYLA
Anthony, I need to ask you something.

Anthony looks at her, already sensing trouble.

ANTHONY
What’s going on?

Shayla takes a few steps closer.

SHAYLA
Why didn’t you pick Kai up from school yesterday?

Anthony pauses. For a moment, he looks uncomfortable.

ANTHONY
I told you, Shayla. I was busy.

SHAYLA
Busy doing what?

Anthony avoids her eyes.

ANTHONY
I was in a meeting. It ran longer than I expected.

Shayla studies his face. She clearly doesn’t believe him.

SHAYLA
A meeting? You knew Kai needed you. You could have called me.

Anthony sighs, becoming irritated.

ANTHONY
I said I was busy, Shayla. I don’t want to argue about this.

Shayla looks around the house. Then she notices D’Nisha standing nearby.

D’Nisha has been listening to everything. Her expression immediately changes.

SCENE 2 — D’NISHA STEPS IN

D’Nisha slowly walks toward Shayla. The atmosphere becomes tense.

D’NISHA
You need to stop.

Shayla turns toward her.

SHAYLA
Stop what?

D’Nisha looks directly into her eyes.

D’NISHA
Coming into this house and questioning Anthony about everything.

SHAYLA
This has nothing to do with you.

D’Nisha steps closer.

D’NISHA
Actually, it has everything to do with me.

SHAYLA
I came here to talk to Anthony.

D’NISHA
Then talk to him and leave.

Shayla’s face becomes angry.

SHAYLA
Who do you think you are?

D’NISHA
I’m the woman who’s tired of you interfering in our relationship.

SCENE 3 — THE ARGUMENT EXPLODES

The tension suddenly rises.

SHAYLA
You don’t know anything about me and Anthony.

D’NISHA
And you don’t know anything about me and Anthony.

Shayla points toward Anthony.

SHAYLA
I’m only here because he gave me a reason to come here.

D’Nisha immediately looks at Anthony.

D’NISHA
Anthony?

Anthony looks frustrated.

ANTHONY
Don’t drag me into this.

The argument becomes louder.

SHAYLA
You need to stay out of my business!

D’NISHA
No. You need to stay out of ours!

Both women continue arguing over each other.

Anthony finally loses his patience.

“ENOUGH!”

Everything suddenly becomes silent.

SCENE 4 — ANTHONY MAKES HIS DECISION

Anthony walks between the two women. His patience is completely gone.

ANTHONY
I’m done with this.

Shayla looks shocked.

SHAYLA
Anthony, I’m just trying to—

ANTHONY
No, Shayla. This is my house, and I’m not going to stand here while the two of you fight.

Anthony points toward the door.

ANTHONY
You need to leave.

Shayla’s eyes widen.

SHAYLA
You’re kicking me out?

ANTHONY
Yes. I don’t want any more fighting in this house.

Shayla looks hurt and embarrassed.

She slowly walks toward the front door.

SCENE 5 — SHAYLA’S FINAL WORDS

Shayla stops at the doorway and looks back at Anthony.

For a moment, neither of them speaks.

SHAYLA
You’ll regret treating me like this.

Anthony remains silent.

Shayla steps outside.

Anthony closes the door behind her.

The house becomes silent again.

SCENE 6 — D’NISHA’S FINAL WARNING

D’Nisha suddenly opens the door again.

Shayla is still standing outside.

D’Nisha looks at her with anger in her eyes.

D’NISHA
Shayla!

Shayla slowly turns around.

D’NISHA
I’m going to make this very clear. Stay away from me and Anthony.

Shayla stares at her.

SHAYLA
You don’t get to tell me where I can go.

D’Nisha steps forward.

D’NISHA
Then let me say it another way.

Shayla’s expression turns furious.

SHAYLA
We’ll see about that.

D’Nisha doesn’t move.

D’NISHA
I’m not playing games anymore.

Shayla turns around and walks away.

D’Nisha watches her disappear down the driveway.

FINAL MOMENT

Anthony walks up behind D’Nisha.

ANTHONY
Are you okay?

D’Nisha slowly turns around.

D’NISHA
I’m tired, Anthony. I’m tired of people coming into our lives and creating problems.

Anthony gently reaches for her hand.

ANTHONY
I know. You’ll have peace.

D’Nisha looks toward the closed door.

But neither of them notices Shayla standing far away near the end of the street.

She turns back toward the house one last time.

Her eyes are filled with anger.

SHAYLA
This isn’t over.

Shayla walks away into the distance.

The camera slowly pulls back from Anthony’s house.

Inside, Anthony and D’Nisha remain together, unaware of what Shayla might do next.
