Scene 1: The Unexpected News
It was a quiet morning at Dinisha’s house. Sunlight streamed through the bedroom curtains as Dinisha sat on the edge of her bed, staring at a pregnancy test in her trembling hands. She could hardly believe what she was seeing.
For several minutes, she remained silent, trying to process the biggest news of her life.
After experiencing unusual tiredness and morning sickness, Dinisha had finally decided to take a pregnancy test. Now, two lines had changed everything.
Dinisha: “Oh, my goodness. Is this really happening? Am I actually going to be a mother?”
Tears filled her eyes. She placed one hand over her stomach, a small smile slowly appearing on her face.
Dinisha: “There’s a little baby growing inside me. A little piece of me and Anthony.”
Her happiness was quickly followed by fear. Anthony had been dealing with problems involving Amber, Shayla, and several other complications in his life. Although he and Dinisha had been getting closer, their future was still uncertain.
Dinisha: “I need to tell him. He deserves to know. But what if this changes everything between us?”
After taking a deep breath, she finally called Anthony.
Anthony: “Hey, beautiful. Is everything okay? You sound different.”
Dinisha: “Anthony, I need to talk to you about something important.”
Anthony: “All right. You’re starting to scare me. What’s going on?”
Dinisha: “Can you come over today? I need to tell you something in person.”
Anthony: “Of course. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
When the call ended, Dinisha looked down at the pregnancy test again.
Dinisha: “Please, Anthony. Please be happy about this.”
Scene 2: Anthony Discovers the Truth
Later that afternoon, Anthony arrived at Dinisha’s house. He walked through the front door with a concerned expression, immediately noticing that she was sitting quietly on the sofa.
He sat beside her and took her hand.
Anthony: “Okay, baby. I’m here. Tell me what’s wrong.”
Dinisha: “Before I tell you, I need you to promise me something.”
Anthony: “What?”
Dinisha: “Promise me you’ll let me finish talking before you say anything.”
Anthony: “You have my word. Whatever it is, we’re going to talk about it.”
Dinisha reached into her pocket and pulled out the pregnancy test. She placed it gently in his palm.
Anthony looked at it, confused at first. Then his eyes widened as he realized what it meant.
Anthony: “Wait a minute. Dinisha, are you trying to tell me—”
His voice broke before he could finish the sentence. Dinisha nodded, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Dinisha: “Anthony, I’m pregnant.”
For several seconds, Anthony didn’t move. He stared at the test, then looked at Dinisha, as if he needed to hear the words one more time to believe them.
Anthony: “We’re having a baby?”
Dinisha: “Yes.”
Anthony: “You’re serious? I’m going to be a father?”
Suddenly, Anthony stood up and covered his mouth with his hand. His eyes filled with tears, and a huge smile spread across his face.
Anthony: “Oh, my God!”
He laughed in disbelief before turning back toward her.
Anthony: “Baby, why didn’t you tell me the second you found out?”
Dinisha: “I was scared. I didn’t know how you’d react.”
Anthony immediately sat beside her and pulled her into a warm embrace.
Anthony: “Scared? Dinisha, look at me.”
She lifted her face toward him.
Anthony: “This is the happiest news I’ve heard in a long time. You just told me that I’m going to have a child. How could I possibly be angry about that?”
Dinisha began crying harder, but this time, they were tears of relief.
Dinisha: “I thought you might not be ready.”
Anthony: “Maybe I don’t have every answer right now. Maybe I still have things to figure out. But one thing I know for sure is that I want to be there for my child.”
He gently placed his hand over hers.
Anthony: “And I’m going to be there for you, too.”
Dinisha rested her head against his chest. For the first time in weeks, neither of them was arguing about their future. They were imagining one together.
Scene 3: Anthony Starts Planning for the Baby
After a few minutes, Anthony suddenly pulled away from the embrace.
Dinisha: “What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?”
Anthony grabbed his car keys from the table.
Anthony: “Don’t move. I’m coming right back.”
Dinisha: “Anthony, where are you going?”
Anthony: “I’ve got something important to do.”
He leaned down, kissed her forehead, and smiled before rushing out of the house.
Anthony drove straight to a baby store. The moment he walked inside, he stopped in front of a display of tiny clothes, colorful toys, stuffed animals, and miniature shoes.
Anthony: “Man, I don’t even know where to start!”
A store employee approached him.
Employee: “Can I help you find something?”
Anthony: “Absolutely. I’m going to be a father, and I need to buy something for my baby!”
Employee: “Congratulations! Do you know whether you’re having a boy or a girl?”
Anthony: “Not yet. But that doesn’t matter. I want my baby to have something special.”
He began picking up toys one after another. First, he chose a soft teddy bear. Then he found a colorful toy elephant, a little musical toy, and a collection of adorable baby rattles.
He walked toward the clothing section and spotted a tiny pair of shoes. Anthony picked them up carefully.
Anthony: “Look at these little shoes. My baby is going to wear these one day.”
For a moment, his excitement softened into something deeper. He imagined holding his newborn child for the first time, hearing that first cry, and watching Dinisha smile as they began their life as parents.
Anthony: “I’m going to do things differently. My child is going to know what it feels like to be loved, protected, and supported.”
He filled his shopping cart with toys, baby blankets, little outfits, and stuffed animals.
Employee: “You seem really excited.”
Anthony: “Excited? I’m trying not to buy the whole store!”
He laughed, shaking his head.
Anthony: “I haven’t even met this baby yet, and already, this little person has changed my entire world.”
He paid for everything and hurried back to his car, eager to surprise Dinisha.
But while Anthony was shopping, he had no idea that someone else was about to discover his secret.
Scene 4: Dinisha Receives an Unexpected Surprise
Back at Dinisha’s house, she was sitting on the sofa when she heard the front door open.
Dinisha: “Anthony? Is that you?”
Anthony: “Close your eyes!”
Dinisha: “What are you doing now?”
Anthony: “Just close them!”
She covered her eyes with both hands. Anthony walked into the living room carrying several shopping bags. He carefully placed them on the floor before stepping back.
Anthony: “All right. Open them!”
Dinisha opened her eyes. Her mouth fell open when she saw the bags scattered across the living room.
Dinisha: “Anthony! What is all this?”
He reached into the first bag and pulled out a tiny teddy bear.
Anthony: “This is for our baby.”
Then he took out a little blanket.
Anthony: “And this is for when our baby gets cold.”
He pulled out another bag containing tiny outfits and baby toys. Dinisha stared at him, overwhelmed by the sight.
Dinisha: “You bought all of this already?”
Anthony: “Of course! What did you expect me to do? Sit around and wait?”
She laughed through her tears.
Dinisha: “Anthony, we don’t even know how far along I am yet!”
Anthony: “Then we’ll figure everything out. We have time to prepare.”
He picked up the tiny shoes and held them between his fingers.
Anthony: “Look at these. I saw them in the store, and I couldn’t leave without buying them.”
Dinisha gently took the shoes from him.
Dinisha: “They’re so little.”
Anthony: “Just like our baby is going to be.”
He paused, then looked directly into her eyes.
Anthony: “I know we’ve had problems. I know there have been times when you probably wondered whether I was serious about us. But I want you to understand something.”
Anthony: “I don’t want our child growing up watching us fight all the time. I want our baby to grow up seeing two people who respect each other, even when life gets difficult.”
Dinisha: “That’s all I’ve ever wanted, Anthony. A peaceful home. A family that doesn’t fall apart every time someone brings drama into our lives.”
Anthony: “Then that’s what we’re going to work toward.”
He placed his hand gently over hers.
Anthony: “You and this baby are my priority.”
Dinisha leaned forward and hugged him tightly. For a moment, everything seemed perfect.

Scene 5: Shayla Notices Something Strange
Later that evening, Anthony received a phone call from Shayla. He looked at the screen and sighed.
Dinisha noticed immediately.
Dinisha: “Is that Shayla?”
Anthony: “Yes.”
Dinisha: “Are you going to answer?”
Anthony hesitated before accepting the call.
Anthony: “Hey, Shayla. What’s up?”
Shayla: “I’ve been trying to reach you all afternoon. Where have you been?”
Anthony: “I’ve been busy.”
Shayla: “Busy doing what?”
Anthony glanced at Dinisha, who was putting the baby gifts into a corner of the living room. He didn’t answer immediately.
Shayla: “Anthony, why are you being so secretive? Is something going on?”
Anthony: “I’ll talk to you later, Shayla. I’ve got something important to handle.”
Shayla: “Wait! Why do I hear you talking like you’re hiding something from me?”
Anthony: “I’m not hiding anything from you. I just have other responsibilities.”
He ended the call. Dinisha looked at him with concern.
Dinisha: “She’s going to find out eventually.”
Anthony: “I know.”
Dinisha: “And you know how she reacts when things don’t go her way.”
Anthony placed the phone on the table.
Anthony: “Listen to me. This is our news. We don’t have to let anybody ruin this moment for us.”
Anthony: “We’ll tell people when we’re ready.”
Dinisha nodded, although she couldn’t shake the feeling that trouble was approaching.
Across town, Shayla stared at her phone, furious that Anthony had ended the conversation.
Shayla: “Something is definitely going on with that man.”
She picked up her purse and grabbed her keys.
Shayla: “And I’m going to find out what it is.”
Scene 6: The Baby Gifts Reveal Everything
The following morning, Anthony returned to Dinisha’s house with breakfast. He walked inside cheerfully, only to discover that Dinisha was sitting quietly on the sofa.
Anthony: “Good morning, mama! I brought you breakfast.”
Dinisha: “Thank you.”
Anthony placed the food on the table and sat beside her.
Anthony: “What’s wrong?”
Dinisha: “I’ve been thinking about yesterday.”
Anthony: “About the pregnancy?”
Dinisha: “About everything. Anthony, I don’t want our baby to become another reason for people to fight with each other.”
Anthony: “Neither do I.”
Dinisha: “I want us to be happy. But I’m worried about what happens when everyone finds out.”
Anthony took her hand.
Anthony: “Then we’ll face it together. I can’t promise that everybody will be happy for us. I can’t control what people say or do. But I can promise that I won’t let other people’s opinions decide how I treat you or our child.”
Dinisha: “You really mean that?”
Anthony: “With everything in me.”
He stood up and walked toward the bags of baby gifts.
Anthony: “You know what? I’ve been thinking about something else, too.”
Dinisha: “What now?”
