The house is unusually quiet. Sunlight filters through the curtains, casting long shadows across the living room. Dave stands near the couch, looking exhausted and emotionally drained. Omni is close beside him, desperately trying to hold on to a relationship that seems to be falling apart.

Dave rubs his forehead.

He has spent too much time dealing with arguments, secrets, and emotional confusion. Now, he wants one thing. Peace. But Omni is not ready to let him walk away.

OMNI

Dave, please. Can we just sit down and talk about this?

DAVE

We have been talking about this for too long, Omni. Every time we have a conversation, we end up right back where we started.

OMNI

Because you keep trying to push me away!

Dave turns toward her. His expression hardens.

DAVE

Maybe you should ask yourself why I’m doing that.

Omni’s eyes fill with emotion. She takes a small step closer.

OMNI

Because of Amber? Is that what this is about?

The night is far from over. Amber waits for answers, while Dave realizes that ending things with Omni may have been the first difficult decision he needed to make.
