THE WEDDING SHOCK
INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – EVENING
Warm golden light fills the room. Outside, the last traces of daylight disappear behind the windows.
LARRY sits across from LYNETTE. There is something serious in his expression. He takes a deep breath, gathering the courage to say what has been on his mind.
LYNETTE notices his nervousness.
Larry slowly shakes his head.
He pauses. His eyes remain fixed on Lynette.
Lynette gives him a curious look.
Larry leans forward.
Larry nods.
A brief silence fills the room.
Larry looks down for a moment, then gathers his courage.
Lynette watches him carefully.
He slowly reaches toward Lynette’s hand.
Lynette’s eyes soften.
Lynette is stunned by his words.
Larry gently holds her hand.
He looks directly into her eyes.
He takes out a small ring box.
Lynette looks at it. Her eyes begin to fill with emotion.
Larry opens the box. A beautiful ring catches the warm light.
Silence.
For several seconds, Lynette simply stares at him.
Then a small, emotional smile appears on her face.
Larry’s face immediately brightens.
He gently takes her hand.
Lynette smiles through her tears.
Larry carefully slides the ring onto her finger.
They look at each other.
For a moment, the rest of the world seems to disappear.
INT. WEDDING HALL – NIGHT
The hall is beautifully decorated.
White flowers cover the walls. Golden lights sparkle above the guests. Soft music fills the room.
Larry and Lynette stand together at the center of the hall.
They are dressed for their wedding.
Larry looks at Lynette with pure happiness.
Lynette smiles back.
Their friends and family watch the ceremony with excitement.
Larry gently takes Lynette’s hand.
She looks into his eyes.
Lynette’s eyes become emotional.
Lynette smiles.
Larry slowly lifts her hand.
The room becomes quiet.
He begins sliding the ring onto her finger.
At that exact moment—
The large doors of the wedding hall suddenly open.
BETHANY enters.
She stops.
Her eyes immediately fall on Larry and Lynette.
Then she sees the ring.
She freezes in the doorway.
The music seems to fade into the background.
Larry continues putting the ring onto Lynette’s finger, completely unaware that Bethany has entered.
Bethany stares at them.
Her face is filled with disbelief.
Her voice is barely audible.
She takes a slow step forward.
Larry finally notices the sudden silence behind him.
He turns.
His eyes meet Bethany’s.
Larry freezes.
Lynette follows his gaze.
She turns around.
She sees Bethany standing in the doorway.
Larry says nothing.
Bethany slowly shakes her head.
Lynette instinctively moves closer to Larry.
Larry remains silent for a moment.
Bethany looks around the decorated hall.
The flowers. The guests. The wedding decorations.
And finally, the ring.
Everything suddenly becomes clear.
Larry takes a breath.
Larry nods.
