PURNELL BRINGS HIS GIRLFRIEND TO LARRY’S HOUSE — BETHANY EXPOSES HIS SECRET, AND A FURIOUS CONFRONTATION ERUPTS!

Purnell had no idea that bringing his girlfriend to Larry’s house would turn into the biggest mistake of his life. He walked toward the front door with a confident smile, holding his girlfriend’s hand, completely unaware that Bethany was waiting inside with information that could destroy their relationship.

His girlfriend, Monica, looked around the beautiful neighborhood before turning toward him.

MONICA: “So this is Larry’s house? You talk about him all the time. I’m glad I finally get to meet him.”

PURNELL: “Yeah, Larry’s like family to me. You’re going to like him.”

Monica smiled, but her expression changed when she noticed Purnell checking his phone for the third time.

MONICA: “Is everything okay?”

PURNELL: “Everything’s fine. I’m just checking something.”

Before Monica could ask another question, Purnell knocked on the door.

A few seconds later, Bethany opened it.

Her eyes immediately landed on Monica, and then she looked at Purnell.

BETHANY: “Purnell? What are you doing here?”

PURNELL: “Hey, Bethany. I was just stopping by to see Larry. This is my girlfriend, Monica.”

Bethany forced a smile.

BETHANY: “Nice to meet you, Monica. Come on in.”

Monica stepped inside, but Bethany noticed that Purnell seemed unusually nervous.

MONICA: “Thank you. Purnell has told me so much about everyone here.”

BETHANY: “Has he? Well, I hope he’s been telling you the truth.”

Purnell immediately looked at Bethany.

PURNELL: “Bethany, can I talk to you for a second?”

BETHANY: “What is there to talk about?”

PURNELL: “Nothing. I just wanted to ask if Larry was home.”

Bethany crossed her arms.

BETHANY: “Larry stepped out for a few minutes. But since you’re here, maybe we should talk about something important.”

Monica looked between them.

MONICA: “What’s going on?”

Bethany glanced at Purnell before answering.

BETHANY: “There’s something about Jade that I think you should know.”

Purnell’s expression changed instantly.

PURNELL: “Bethany, don’t do this.”

Monica turned toward him.

MONICA: “What does Jade have to do with anything?”

Bethany took a breath.

BETHANY: “I don’t want to cause problems, but I also don’t think you deserve to be kept in the dark. Purnell has been involved with Jade, and there are things between them that he hasn’t been honest about.”

Monica stared at Purnell.

MONICA: “What is she talking about?”

PURNELL: “Nothing. Bethany doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”

BETHANY: “Then explain it to her.”

Purnell opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Monica slowly released his hand.

MONICA: “Purnell, look at me. Is what she’s saying true?”

PURNELL: “Monica, listen. It’s complicated.”

MONICA: “Complicated? That’s what you always say whenever I ask you about something you don’t want to explain.”

Bethany watched Monica’s expression change from confusion to anger.

MONICA: “How long have you been hiding this from me?”

PURNELL: “I’m not hiding anything. Jade and I have history, but that doesn’t mean there’s anything happening now.”

BETHANY: “You should have told her that yourself.”

Monica shook her head in disbelief.

MONICA: “You brought me here, introduced me to everyone, and acted like everything was perfect. Meanwhile, you were keeping this from me?”

PURNELL: “I was going to explain everything.”

MONICA: “When? After I found out from someone else?”

Purnell stepped closer, trying to calm her down.

PURNELL: “Please, just let me explain.”

Monica suddenly pushed his hand away.

MONICA: “Don’t touch me!”

Bethany moved toward them.

BETHANY: “Monica, take a breath. You don’t have to decide anything right now.”

But Monica was too angry to listen.

MONICA: “No! I’m tired of everyone thinking they can lie to me and expect me to stay quiet!”

She turned toward Purnell.

MONICA: “You made me look like a fool!”

PURNELL: “I never wanted to hurt you.”

MONICA: “Then why did you do it?”

Purnell tried to answer, but Monica suddenly struck his arm.

MONICA: “You lied to me!”

She hit him again, and Purnell stepped backward.

PURNELL: “Monica, stop! Let me explain!”

MONICA: “You had every chance to explain!”

Bethany rushed between them.

BETHANY: “Monica, stop! This isn’t going to solve anything!”

Monica tried to move around her, still furious.

MONICA: “Get out of my way, Bethany! He needs to understand what he did!”

Purnell backed away, raising his hands.

PURNELL: “I’m sorry! I should have told you everything!”

Monica stopped for a moment.

MONICA: “Everything?”

Purnell looked at her, realizing he had said too much.

MONICA: “What does that mean?”

Bethany’s expression changed.

BETHANY: “Purnell, what else haven’t you told her?”

Purnell looked toward the front door.

PURNELL: “This isn’t the place to talk about it.”

MONICA: “You don’t get to decide that anymore!”

Monica stepped toward him again, but Bethany held her back.

BETHANY: “Enough! Both of you need to calm down.”

Just then, the front door opened.

Larry walked inside and stopped when he saw the three of them standing in the middle of the living room.

LARRY: “What is going on in here?”

Purnell immediately turned toward him.

PURNELL: “Larry, thank God you’re home.”

Larry looked at Monica’s angry expression, then at Bethany.

LARRY: “Why is everybody shouting?”

BETHANY: “Purnell brought his girlfriend over, and she just found out about Jade.”

Larry’s face tightened.

LARRY: “Purnell, is that true?”

Purnell looked down.

PURNELL: “Larry, I can explain.”

LARRY: “Then explain it.”

Monica stepped forward.

MONICA: “He brought me here pretending everything was fine. I had no idea there was another woman involved.”

Larry turned toward Purnell.

LARRY: “You should have been honest with her.”

PURNELL: “I know. I made a mistake.”

MONICA: “A mistake? You made a choice!”

Purnell lowered his head.

For a moment, the room went silent.

Then Monica looked directly at him.

MONICA: “I’m not finished with this conversation. You’re going to tell me the truth about Jade, and you’re going to tell me why Bethany knows more about your relationship than I do.”

Purnell swallowed hard.

PURNELL: “Monica, please. Just give me a chance.”

MONICA: “You had your chance.”

She turned toward the door, but before she could leave, Purnell called her name.

PURNELL: “Wait!”

Monica stopped without turning around.

PURNELL: “There’s something else you need to know.”

Larry and Bethany exchanged a worried look.

Monica slowly turned back toward him.

MONICA: “What now?”

Purnell looked at Bethany, then at Larry.

PURNELL: “Jade isn’t the only person I owe an explanation to.”

Bethany’s face went pale.

BETHANY: “Purnell, don’t you dare bring Larry into this.”

Larry stepped forward.

LARRY: “What is he talking about?”

Purnell took a deep breath.

PURNELL: “Larry, there’s something that happened before I brought Monica here. And if I don’t tell you now, you’re going to hear it from someone else.”

Larry stared at him.

LARRY: “Then start talking.”

Purnell opened his mouth, but before he could say another word, Monica’s phone began ringing.

She looked down at the screen.

The name displayed on it made her blood run cold.

It was Jade.

Monica answered the call and put it on speaker.

MONICA: “Jade? What do you want?”

Jade’s voice came through immediately.

JADE: “Monica, don’t believe anything Purnell tells you. There’s something you need to know about him and Bethany.”

Bethany froze.

Larry slowly turned toward his wife.

And Purnell stood motionless, realizing that the truth he had been trying to hide was about to come out in front of everyone.
