THE SHOCKING NEWS THAT DESTROYED LARRY’S HAPPINESS
SCENE 1 – EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – DAY
The day was about to take a shocking turn. A piece of wonderful news was on its way to Larry’s house, but nobody could have imagined that the same news would soon turn into a nightmare.
Purnell was walking towards Larry’s house with a card firmly held in his hand. His face was glowing with excitement, and he could barely control his happiness.
He had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Everything he had hoped for was finally happening.
As soon as he reached Larry’s front door, he stopped and started shouting at the top of his voice.
PURNELL
“Larry! Larry! Larry!”
He continued calling Larry’s name, unable to hide his excitement.
A few moments later, Larry heard the shouting from inside the house. Wondering what had happened, he quickly made his way towards the front door.
As soon as Larry stepped outside, he noticed Purnell standing there with a huge smile on his face and a card in his hand.
LARRY
“What happened, Purnell? Why are you shouting like that? Is everything alright?”
Purnell looked at Larry with excitement. However, instead of telling him the news immediately, he decided to build some suspense.
PURNELL
“First of all, you need to prepare yourself. Keep your heart strong because what I’m about to tell you is going to surprise you.”
Larry looked at him with confusion. He had no idea what Purnell was talking about. Seeing the serious expression on Purnell’s face, Larry started wondering whether something terrible had happened.
LARRY
“Why? What happened? Is there some bad news? Just tell me clearly!”
Purnell couldn’t hold back his smile anymore. He moved a little closer to Larry and finally revealed the first part of the news.
PURNELL
“Jade has agreed!”
Larry blinked in confusion. He tried to understand what Purnell meant, but the statement was too incomplete for him to make any sense of it.
LARRY
“What do you mean? What has Jade agreed to? You’re making me more confused. Explain properly!”
Purnell laughed excitedly. He knew Larry was desperate to hear the full story, so he finally explained everything.
PURNELL
“Jade has agreed to come to Atlanta!”
For a moment, Larry simply stared at him. Then his face lit up with happiness. This was exactly the kind of news he had been hoping to hear.
LARRY
“Really? That’s wonderful news! Finally, Jade has agreed to come to Atlanta!”
Larry smiled and looked at Purnell, feeling relieved. However, he soon noticed that Purnell still had that unusual smile on his face. It seemed there was something else he hadn’t revealed yet.
LARRY
“Alright, that’s great! But why are you looking so happy? Is there something else you haven’t told me?”
Purnell raised his eyebrows. He looked at the card in his hand and then turned his attention back towards Larry. His excitement increased even more.
PURNELL
“Oh, Larry! You have no idea how much better the news gets!”
LARRY
“What else? Tell me! Don’t keep me waiting!”
Purnell took a deep breath. Then, with a proud smile, he delivered the biggest surprise of the day.
PURNELL
“Jade hasn’t just agreed to come to Atlanta. She has also agreed to marry me!”
SCENE 2 – EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – CONTINUOUS
The moment those words came out of Purnell’s mouth, Larry’s entire expression changed. His smile disappeared. His eyes widened, and he stood completely still.
For a few seconds, he couldn’t even find the words to respond. He looked at Purnell as if he hadn’t heard him correctly.
LARRY
“Wait… What did you just say?”
Purnell, who was still overwhelmed with happiness, repeated the news.
PURNELL
“You heard me correctly! Jade has agreed to marry me!”
Larry’s face became pale. He had expected Purnell to share some good news, but this was something he had never imagined hearing.
LARRY
“Jade… agreed to marry you?”
PURNELL
“Yes! Can you believe it? After everything that happened, she finally said yes!”
Purnell was practically jumping with happiness. He held the card tightly in his hand, imagining how wonderful the future would be now that Jade had agreed to marry him.
But Larry wasn’t reacting the way he had expected. Instead of congratulating him, Larry remained silent. His breathing started becoming uncomfortable, and he slowly placed one hand against his chest.
LARRY
“Purnell… I…”
He tried to say something, but his words suddenly became unclear. Purnell immediately noticed that something was wrong.
PURNELL
“Larry? What’s wrong with you?”
Larry tried to take another breath. His hand pressed harder against his chest, and his body began losing strength. He looked at Purnell, but he couldn’t properly explain what he was feeling.
LARRY
“My chest…”
Before he could finish his sentence, his knees suddenly gave way. His body tilted forward, and he collapsed onto the ground.
PURNELL
“LARRY!”
Purnell dropped everything he was holding and rushed towards him. The card fell from his hand and landed near Larry’s feet.
Just moments ago, Purnell had been celebrating the happiest news of his life. But now, he was standing over Larry, terrified and unable to understand what had happened.
PURNELL
“Larry! Open your eyes! Larry, can you hear me?”
He bent down and tried to get a response. But Larry remained unconscious. Purnell’s excitement had completely disappeared. His face was filled with fear, and his hands started trembling.
PURNELL
“Come on, Larry! Please don’t do this! Wake up!”
He looked around desperately, hoping someone would come outside and help him. But the street was quiet. There was no immediate help in sight.
Purnell looked back at Larry and realized that this was much more serious than he had initially thought.
SCENE 3 – EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – MOMENTS LATER
Inside the house, Bethany was going about her business when she suddenly heard Purnell screaming outside.
At first, she couldn’t understand what was happening. But then she heard Larry’s name being shouted repeatedly. Something about Purnell’s voice made her feel that something terrible had happened.
BETHANY
“What’s going on outside? Why is Purnell shouting?”
She opened the door and stepped outside. The moment she looked towards the ground, she froze. Larry was lying unconscious, while Purnell was kneeling beside him.
Bethany’s face turned pale.
BETHANY
“LARRY!”
She screamed and immediately ran towards them. Within seconds, she reached Larry and dropped down beside him.
BETHANY
“What happened to him? Larry! Can you hear me?”
She gently tried to get his attention, but Larry didn’t respond. Bethany looked at Purnell with tears beginning to form in her eyes.
BETHANY
“Purnell, what happened? Why is Larry lying here? What did you do?”
Purnell looked at her helplessly. He was still struggling to process everything that had happened.
PURNELL
“I don’t know! We were just talking. I came here to give him some good news, and suddenly he started holding his chest!”
Bethany looked back at Larry. She couldn’t understand how someone who had been perfectly fine just moments earlier could suddenly collapse like this.
BETHANY
“What good news? What are you talking about? First tell me what happened to Larry!”
Purnell swallowed nervously. He looked at Larry, then at Bethany.
PURNELL
“I told him that Jade had agreed to come to Atlanta…”
Bethany listened carefully.
PURNELL
“And then I told him that Jade had also agreed to marry me.”
Bethany’s eyes widened. She looked at Purnell in surprise, but before she could ask anything else, her attention returned to Larry.
BETHANY
“Forget everything else right now! We need to get him help!”
Her voice was shaking. She reached for Larry’s hand while Purnell desperately tried to figure out what to do next.
PURNELL
“Should I call for an ambulance? What should we do?”
BETHANY
“Yes! Call immediately! Don’t waste another second!”
Purnell quickly reached for his phone. His fingers were trembling so badly that he struggled to unlock it. He finally managed to make the call and began explaining the emergency.
Meanwhile, Bethany remained beside Larry. She kept calling his name, hoping that he would open his eyes.
BETHANY
“Larry, please! You have to wake up! Don’t leave us like this!”
Her voice broke as she looked at his motionless face. The happiness that had filled Purnell’s heart only a few minutes earlier had now turned into overwhelming fear.
SCENE 4 – EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – CONTINUOUS
After ending the emergency call, Purnell returned to Bethany. He looked completely lost. The card was still lying on the ground, but nobody cared about it anymore.
The announcement that had brought him so much happiness had suddenly become the beginning of a terrible situation.
Purnell slowly picked up the card and stared at it. He had imagined showing it to Larry and celebrating together.
He had expected Larry to congratulate him, laugh with him, and share his happiness. But instead, Larry was lying unconscious in front of him.
PURNELL
“I never thought something like this would happen. I was just trying to share my happiness with him.”
BETHANY
“Please stop thinking about that right now. We just need Larry to be alright.”
Purnell nodded slowly. But his mind was filled with questions. Had the news shocked Larry so much that it caused his collapse? Was Larry already dealing with something that nobody knew about? Or was there another reason behind what had just happened?
Purnell looked down at Larry again.
PURNELL
“He was completely fine when I arrived. We were talking normally. I don’t understand how everything changed so quickly.”
BETHANY
“He needs to wake up. We can’t lose him.”
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The only thing they could do was wait for help to arrive.
Then, from a distance, the sound of an approaching emergency vehicle could finally be heard.
PURNELL
“Bethany! I think they’re here!”
Bethany looked up, her eyes filled with hope. The ambulance stopped outside the house, and the medical team quickly rushed towards Larry.
They immediately began assessing his condition.
PARAMEDIC
“Move back, please. Give us some space.”
Purnell and Bethany stepped aside. They watched anxiously as the paramedics examined Larry and prepared to take him to the hospital.
Bethany couldn’t stop crying. Purnell stood beside her, holding the card in his hand. He looked at it one last time before putting it away.

SCENE 5 – EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – A FEW MOMENTS LATER
The paramedics carefully placed Larry onto a stretcher. Bethany immediately stepped forward.
BETHANY
“Please, is he going to be alright?”
One of the paramedics looked at her seriously.
PARAMEDIC
“We’re taking him to the hospital. The doctors will need to examine him and determine exactly what’s happened.”
Bethany nodded, unable to hold back her tears. Purnell moved closer.
PURNELL
“I’m coming with him.”
The paramedics prepared to move the stretcher towards the ambulance. Bethany followed them, still looking at Larry’s face.
She couldn’t accept that everything had happened so suddenly. Just a little while ago, Larry had been standing outside his house, talking normally. Now, he was being taken away unconscious.
As the ambulance doors opened, Bethany turned towards Purnell.
BETHANY
“Purnell, you need to tell me everything that happened. From the beginning. Don’t leave anything out.”
Purnell looked at her and nodded.
PURNELL
“I promise. I’ll explain everything. But first, we need to make sure Larry survives.”
Bethany looked back towards the stretcher. Her heart was filled with fear. The paramedics loaded Larry into the ambulance, and Purnell and Bethany prepared to follow.
The doors were about to close when Bethany suddenly remembered something. She turned towards Purnell.
