I have told this man so many times to stop contacting me. Why doesn’t he understand that I want nothing to do with him?

She put her phone down and took a deep breath.

A moment later, her phone rang. It was Purnal.

JADE: Hello, Purnal.

PURNAL: Are you ready? Have you made your decision?

JADE: I’m tired of Larry constantly messaging me. I can’t keep dealing with this situation.

PURNAL: Then it’s time to do what we discussed. Come back to Atlanta. Everything needs to happen exactly as we planned.

Jade remained silent for a moment.

JADE: Are you sure this is going to work?

PURNAL: Trust me. Once Bethany hears everything, she will never look at Larry the same way again.

Jade ended the call. She had no idea how much damage Purnal’s plan would eventually cause.

SCENE 2 — PURNAL’S REAL MOTIVE

INT. PURNAL’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON

Purnal sat comfortably on his sofa, looking through financial documents.

There were photographs of Larry’s family, information about his father’s business, and details about the family’s wealth scattered across the table.

PURNAL:
Larry has no idea what is coming. He’s too busy enjoying his life with Bethany to realize that everything he owns could soon be within my reach.

He placed the document back on the table.

Purnal wasn’t simply interested in destroying Larry’s relationship. He wanted something much bigger.

Jade arrived at the police station. She looked serious as she walked through the entrance.

After speaking with an officer, she made a formal complaint against Larry.

She claimed that Larry had repeatedly harassed her through messages and made serious allegations about their past interactions.

She also claimed that he had forced himself on her and that she was now carrying his child.

JADE:
I don’t want him contacting me anymore. I’ve been trying to stay away from him, but he keeps disturbing my life. I want this matter investigated.

OFFICER:
We will document your complaint and investigate the allegations. We will need to establish the facts and review any available evidence.

Jade nodded. However, there was something she wasn’t telling the police.

Some of the claims she had made were not true. Purnal had encouraged her to make those accusations because he believed they would destroy Larry’s relationship with Bethany.

SCENE 4 — LARRY GETS ARRESTED

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON

Larry was sitting in the living room when he heard a knock at the door.

He opened it and found two police officers standing outside.

OFFICER: Are you Larry?

LARRY: Yes. What’s going on?

OFFICER: We need you to come with us regarding a complaint that has been filed against you.

Larry looked confused.

LARRY: A complaint? What complaint?

OFFICER: The complaint involves allegations of harassment and other serious misconduct.

LARRY: This doesn’t make any sense. I haven’t done anything like that.

The officers explained the situation and proceeded according to the investigation.

Larry was completely shocked. His entire life had changed within minutes.

Bethany was preparing dinner when her phone rang.

When she heard Jade’s name, her expression changed.

She ended the call and immediately contacted Larry. But he didn’t answer.

Larry, please tell me this isn’t true. I need to hear your side of the story.

SCENE 6 — LARRY DENIES EVERYTHING

Larry sat across from the investigating officer.

OFFICER: Larry, Jade has made some serious allegations against you. What do you have to say?

LARRY: I deny these accusations. I haven’t forced anyone to do anything. I don’t know why Jade is saying these things.

OFFICER: She also claims that you repeatedly contacted her after she asked you to stop.

LARRY: I may have sent messages, but that doesn’t mean everything she’s accusing me of is true. I want the messages examined.

Larry leaned back in his chair.

LARRY: Please investigate everything. Don’t just believe one side of the story.

SCENE 7 — PURNAL PRETENDS TO CARE

Purnal received a call from Jade.

PURNAL: Did everything happen?

JADE: Yes. Larry has been arrested.

PURNAL: Good. Now we wait for Bethany to hear everything.

JADE: I’m nervous, Purnal. What if Larry discovers that we planned this?

PURNAL: He won’t have anything to prove it. Just stay calm.

He ended the call and looked at a photograph of Bethany.

PURNAL: Soon, Bethany, you’ll understand that Larry was never the right person for you.

SCENE 8 — BETHANY CONFRONTS LARRY

INT. POLICE STATION — VISITING AREA — NEXT DAY

Bethany finally arrived at the police station.

BETHANY: Larry, what is happening? Why is Jade making these accusations against you?

LARRY: Bethany, please listen to me. I haven’t done what she’s claiming.

BETHANY: Then why would she say something so serious?

LARRY: I don’t know! Someone is trying to destroy my life.

BETHANY: She claims you harassed her. She also made other accusations that I can’t even believe I’m hearing.

LARRY: Let the evidence speak.

BETHANY: I need time, Larry.

Larry watched her walk away. He knew that even if he eventually proved his innocence, the damage to his relationship might be difficult to repair.

SCENE 9 — PURNAL MAKES HIS MOVE

Bethany was sitting alone when Purnal arrived.

PURNAL: That’s exactly what someone would say if they were trying to avoid responsibility.

Bethany looked at him, unsure what to believe.

Jade immediately called Purnal.

Purnal went quiet.

Larry’s father was sitting in his office when his personal assistant entered.

LARRY’S FATHER: What about him?

The assistant placed a folder on the desk.

ASSISTANT: We’ve discovered that someone has been asking questions about your financial assets, business ownership, and inheritance arrangements.

Larry’s father opened the folder. He saw Purnal’s name.

LARRY’S FATHER: Why is Purnal interested in my family’s money?

ASSISTANT: We believe he’s been trying to get close to Bethany for a reason.

LARRY’S FATHER: Then find out everything. I want the truth before this man destroys my son’s future.

FINAL SCENE — THE PERSON BEHIND PURNAL

INT. PURNAL’S HOUSE — MIDNIGHT

Purnal was pacing around his living room when he received a call from someone he clearly wasn’t expecting.

PURNAL: I told you not to contact me unless something important happened!

MYSTERIOUS VOICE: You have a problem. Jade is getting nervous, Larry’s father is investigating you, and Bethany is starting to ask questions.

PURNAL: I can handle Jade. But Larry’s father is becoming a problem.

MYSTERIOUS VOICE: Then you need to move faster. If the truth comes out, both of us could lose everything.

PURNAL: Don’t worry. I have another plan.

The call ended.

Suddenly, his phone rang again. This time, the caller ID showed Larry’s father’s name.

LARRY’S FATHER: Purnal, we need to talk. I know what you’ve been doing behind my family’s back.

Purnal froze.

LARRY’S FATHER: And there’s something else. I have the name of the person who helped you plan everything.

PURNAL: Who told you that?

LARRY’S FATHER: The person who exposed you is someone you trusted more than anyone else.

The call ended.
