Pressure to Apologize
Sharra had never been good at apologizing — not because she lacked regret, but because she refused to say words that didn’t come from her heart.

THE QUIET BEFORE THE PRESSURE

The morning started quietly. Too quietly. Sharra sat on the edge of her bed, staring at her phone — no messages, no missed calls, just silence. She already knew why. Bethany.

What began as a misunderstanding had exploded into shouting, slammed doors, and bruised emotions the night before. Now Larry was involved — and when Larry stepped in, things never stayed simple.

THE DEMAND

When the knock finally came, it wasn’t Sharra. It was Larry.

BETHANY: “She didn’t come?”

The answer only confirmed what Bethany already feared.

THE CHOICE

Downstairs, Sharra paced, torn between regret and control. She wanted to apologize — but not if it meant surrendering her choice.

SHARRA: “If she gets an apology, it’ll be because I choose to give it.”

Larry gave her one last chance. She didn’t take it.

Sharra opened the door. Cold air rushed in. Upstairs, Bethany heard it close — and her heart sank. Larry stood still, listening to the silence that followed…
