THE CONFRONTATION
Larry stands by the window, arms crossed. Bethany sits tensely on the couch.
LARRY: Bethany… we need to talk.
BETHANY: What now, Larry? Another lecture?
LARRY: Not a lecture. Advice. You need to hear this — you have to apologize to Sharra.
THE REALIZATION
Bethany’s eyes widen, guilt flashing across her face. She clutches the couch edges.
BETHANY: Apologize? For what?
LARRY: Yesterday… the family meeting. You weren’t invited, yet you went.
BETHANY: I… I didn’t think it would matter.
LARRY: It mattered. It caused a fight. Now you have to fix it.
THE CONSEQUENCES
Larry walks toward the coffee table, leaning on it for support. His voice is calm but firm.
LARRY: Intent doesn’t erase consequences. You need to face what you caused.
BETHANY: I didn’t mean for it to happen…
LARRY: But it did. And now you have to own it.
FACING RESPONSIBILITY
Bethany bites her lip, conflicted. Larry sits across from her, hands clasped, watching her struggle.
LARRY: Pride won’t help you here. Humility will. Show her respect — even if it’s hard.
BETHANY: I… I don’t want to regret this.
LARRY: Then go. Face her. Apologize sincerely. No excuses.
THE DECISION
Bethany rises slowly, smoothing her clothes. Her face is set with determination.
BETHANY: Okay. I’ll do it.
LARRY: That’s all anyone can ask. Sometimes doing the right thing isn’t easy.
THE AFTERMATH
Bethany walks out. Larry leans against the wall, alone. The tension remains but responsibility has shifted.
LARRY (softly): Family is more than showing up. It’s respecting boundaries.
Bethany approaches Sharra’s door. She pauses, hand trembling, ready to knock. Will Sharra accept her apology or will anger reign? The answer waits behind the door…
