Anthony tried to interrupt.

“No,” Shayla cut him off. “That IS the point.”

Anthony suddenly realized this conversation wasn’t going the way he planned.

He came there ready to check Shayla.

Anthony tried to calm things down, but Shayla wasn’t finished.

“Wait a minute, Anthony. You were real comfortable telling me everything before. Now suddenly you don’t want nobody talking?”

D’Nisha looked at Shayla, then back at Anthony.

“So what else have you told people?”

That question completely changed Anthony’s expression.

He stopped talking.

Shayla noticed immediately.

D’Nisha stepped closer.

“What? Why you got quiet?”

Anthony reached for his phone.

“I gotta make a call.”

Shayla laughed.

“A call? To who?”

Anthony didn’t answer.

Then Shayla suddenly remembered something Anthony had mentioned earlier about Kai’s birthday party — and the $20K conversation.

She looked at D’Nisha.

“Wait… Anthony, did you tell her THAT too?”

Anthony froze.
