🏠 Scene 1: The Silence Inside the House
The house felt unusually quiet.
Larry sat on the living-room sofa, staring at his phone while repeatedly checking the time. Across the room, Sharra stood near the window, watching the driveway with growing concern.
Brooke should have been home by now.
Larry unlocked his phone and called her again.
📱 CALLING BROOKE…
The phone rang.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
No answer.
Larry slowly lowered the phone.
Larry:
“Brooke should have been home already. I’ve called her several times, but she isn’t answering, and I’m starting to feel like something might be seriously wrong.”
Sharra turned away from the window and looked at him.
Sharra:
“Maybe she’s with one of her friends, but Brooke normally tells us where she’s going. I don’t understand why she hasn’t called or answered yet.”
Larry stood up and looked toward the front door.
Larry:
“You’re right. Let’s stop guessing and start calling her friends. Someone has to know where Brooke went or who she was with earlier.”
Sharra immediately picked up her phone.
Sharra:
“I’ll call her closest friends first. Maybe one of them saw her today or knows where she planned to go.”
📞 Scene 2: Nobody Knows Where Brooke Is
Sharra called Brooke’s closest friend.
Sharra:
“Hi, I’m sorry for calling you so late, but have you seen Brooke today? We haven’t been able to reach her, and she still hasn’t come home.”
There was a worried pause on the other end.
Friend:
“No, I haven’t seen Brooke today. Is everything okay? You sound really worried, and I’m starting to think something happened.”
Sharra:
“She hasn’t answered any of our calls, and nobody seems to know where she is. Did she mention going somewhere or meeting someone today?”
Friend:
“No, she didn’t tell me anything. I’m really sorry, but I honestly don’t know where she could be right now.”
Sharra thanked her and ended the call.
Larry immediately dialed another number.
Larry:
“Hey, have you heard from Brooke today? We’re trying to find her, but none of her friends seem to know where she went.”
Friend:
“No, Larry, I haven’t spoken to her since earlier. Why are you looking for her? Is something wrong? She hasn’t told me anything.”
Larry slowly ended the call.
He looked at Sharra.
Nobody had seen Brooke.
Nobody knew where she was.
And Brooke still wasn’t answering her phone.
😟 Scene 3: Fear Takes Over
Sharra sat down, her hands trembling slightly.
Larry remained standing, staring at the silent phone on the table.
Sharra:
“Larry, we’ve called almost everyone who might know where she is. Nobody has seen her, nobody knows where she went, and she still isn’t answering her phone.”
Larry tried to remain calm, but the worry in his eyes was impossible to hide.
Larry:
“I know this doesn’t look good, but we can’t panic yet. Let’s think carefully about where Brooke might have gone before we assume the worst.”
Sharra shook her head.
Sharra:
“But what if she’s in trouble somewhere? Every minute we wait could matter, and I don’t think we should take any chances with Brooke’s safety.”
Larry looked at her.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Sharra stood up.
Sharra:
“I think we need to call the police. We’ve tried everything we can think of, and now we need professional help finding her.”
Larry finally nodded.
Larry:
“You’re right. We can’t sit here waiting for the phone to ring. Let’s go to the police station and officially report Brooke missing.”
🚔 Scene 4: The Missing Person Report
Minutes later, Larry and Sharra arrived at the police station.
They walked quickly toward the front desk.
Larry looked at the officer.
Larry:
“Officer, we need to report our daughter Brooke missing. She hasn’t come home, she isn’t answering her phone, and we’ve already contacted everyone who might know where she is.”
The officer immediately became serious.
Officer:
“Alright, sir. I’ll need as much information as possible. Tell me when Brooke was last seen, where she was going, and what she was wearing when anyone last saw her.”
Sharra quickly pulled out her phone.
Sharra:
“This is a recent picture of Brooke. She normally never disappears without telling us, which is why we’re extremely worried something may have happened.”
The officer carefully looked at the photograph.
Officer:
“We’ll register the missing-person report and begin checking the information immediately. I need you both to stay calm while we start the search.”
Larry stepped closer.
Larry:
“Officer, please don’t waste any time. We don’t know where she is, and all we want is to know that she’s safe. Please do everything you can to find her.”
The officer nodded.
Officer:
“We understand your concern. We’ll contact her friends, check possible locations, and send officers out to begin searching for her immediately.”
🔎 Scene 5: The Search Begins
Within minutes, Brooke’s information was entered into the police system.
Officers began making calls.
Possible locations were being checked.
Brooke’s friends were contacted again.
And soon, police vehicles began leaving the station. 🚔
Sharra stood near the window, watching the officers disappear into the night.
Sharra:
“Larry, I just want them to find her quickly. I can’t shake this feeling that something is wrong, and I don’t know how long I can sit here without knowing where Brooke is.”
Larry looked at her, trying to hide his own fear.
Larry:
“I’m scared too, Sharra, but we have to stay strong. Brooke needs us to keep looking, and we won’t stop until we know where she is and bring her safely home.”
Suddenly, an officer hurried toward them.
Larry immediately stood.
Larry:
“Did you find something? Please tell me you have some information about Brooke. We’ve been waiting here, hoping someone would finally tell us where she is.”
The officer looked serious.
Officer:
“We may have a possible lead. One of our teams is checking a location right now, but we don’t have confirmation yet, so I don’t want to give you false hope.”
Sharra stepped forward anxiously.
Sharra:
“What kind of lead is it? Could it actually be Brooke? Please, tell us whatever you know because we’ve been terrified ever since she disappeared.”
The officer nodded.
Officer:
“As soon as the team confirms anything, you’ll be the first people we contact. For now, please stay here and keep your phones available.”
Larry and Sharra exchanged a nervous look.
For the first time that night, they had something they desperately needed—
Hope.
But they still had no idea where Brooke was…
